Diner Reviews
  • "Venison was really nice Wines by the glass are hit and miss; I wish they would be more selective. If in doubt, consult the waiter, most of whom know the wines."

  • "Party of 4 for dinner. Food was very good, sevice was very friendly, with one or two miscommunications. The hand-written bill at the end of the dinner is always impossible to figure out."

  • "We've been to Cafe Torre several times and have always had a good experience. Food is uniformly good quality. Waiters are efficient, knowledgeable, somewhat abrupt, though not in a way to turn you off. Even when crowded, the background noise level is quite comfortable. For the quality of food, etc, the prices are reasonable."

  • "It was great to see local wines in their wine list. Very few places do that in the Silicon Valley. Risotto was flavorful and al dente. I need to go back and try some pasta dishes."

  • "this cafe is a special treat if you find yourself in cupertino. staff was very friendly and professional. venison tenderloin was yummy. there were several items on the menu that would bring me back to try..."

  • "Once again we were quite pleased with the food and service at Café Torre. The calamari was cooked to perfection, i.e., crispiness and tenderness. Paella was great with a mixture of seafood, sausage and chicken. Pasta dishes were unique in that the sauces were different depending on what was ordered."

  • "This was a terrific find. Small unassuming and in a strip mall, but first class all the way. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will certainly be back. Service was excellent and food superior."

  • "This has been a consistent favorite of mine for over ten years. The food and service are superior. I've tried nearly all the dishes, and have never been disappointed. Much of the fabulous wine choices comes from local Santa Cruz Mountain wineries. The same two servers have worked there for as long as I can remember. We are treated like family. This is my go-to place for a guaranteed slightly upscale fabulous dining experience."

  • "When our favorite restaurant closed in Los gatos, we found this one and it's one of our favorites! Great food every time."

  • "My wife and I have always enjoyed our meals there whether it was just the 2 of us or with friends. We have not found anything on the menu that we haven't enjoyed. A must for us is always Calamari appetizer. On Valentines Day 2014 we both had the Calamari, we split a spinach salad and for the entrée we had the Pork Tenderloin, breaded, oven roasted, finished in Port rosemary demi-glaze sauce. All were, as they say in Italia.......DELIZIOSO!!!!"

  • "Everything's delicious and it's our 'go-to' place for a 'special dinner out', when we want to treat ourselves and friends - close to home, here in Cupertino."

  • "Great food here! The homemade lasagne is to die for."

  • "I really enjoy eating at Cafe Torre and have eaten at your restaurant for roughly the last 15 years. The food and service is always excellent, however on this visit the parking was horrible. We circled the parking lot and found only one parking space. The rest if our party had to park around the corner and walk to the restaurant. They had mentioned the last time they came they had the same problem. I wanted to let you know so hopefully you can resolve this problem."

  • "What a pleasant respite for a rainy, traffic-jammed Friday evening of dining. Have eaten here three times now, and found it consistent in menu, service, food preparation, and comfort. Keep up the good work!"

  • "One would never think that there would be great Italian food at this restaurant that is hidden in a neighborhood strip mall. It was excellent - everyone loved their choices and the staff was attentive throughout the meal. Would definitely go to again."

  • "Rarely do you find a restaurant of this quality in a strip mall. If you have not tried it, you're missing out...a little pricey but not out of line for what you get!!"

  • "Café Torre is a small quaint restaurant hidden away - service and food are excellent! Great selection of wines."

  • "Cafe Torre consistently has very good food. Everyone at my table had been there before and it is becoming a "go to" restaurant for our regular gatherings. The waiter was ver attentive without being intrusive. I requested a few changes to the menu item I selected which we honored. We will all be back again."

  • "We enjoyed our early dinner and the ambiance, found the staff very friendly and efficient, talked with fellow diners who had been there many times and heard lovely stories of consistent excellence there over many years. Food was delicious and it was the restaurant was decorated in a festive way...made for a lovely evening."

  • "I invited a friend to join me for dinner at Cafe Torre for her Christmas week birthday. Although she lives in Cupertino, she had never visited this place. We each enjoyed our meals, the wine, the after dinner coffee. Delicious food, generous portions, good service. Nice enough for a special occasion, but reasonable enough for your neighborhood hang out. We will both be back."

  • "Restaurant was very noisy and busy this night. Very difficult to have a conversation and tables were placed very close to each other. Waiter was hard to find when we wanted refill. Food was excellent."

  • "Neighborhood gem that serves one of the better moderately priced Italian meals. Calamari is one of the best we've had and their dishes are tastes like you're in Italy. We had the lasagna and seafood linguini; both were very good."

  • "love this place. When you drive up you will say, "What is this?" because it is in a small strip mall near a Lee's Sandwich Shop. But to not fear, it's worth it to go inside. The food is fresh and very good. I love the lamb and the pasta is great. One of my local favorites and always consistently good."

  • "Cafe Torre has been a go-to restaurant for years. We love the food and wine, and usually the service is friendly, professional and timely. Maybe they were down a server, but Monday's service was terrible. It took almost 20 minutes to get a glass of wine, then dinner took almost 1 1/1 hours. No apologizes. Sadly, we are not going to return here after many years."

  • "We were early for our reservation, and decided to visit the wine bar next door first (called "Flight"). Turns out the wine bar is part of Cafe Torre, just more casual. Flight is a typical wine bar with wine, wine tastings (flights), and light appetizers, but they also have access to the full menu from next door . We've been to Cafe Torre before, so decided to stay at Flight for dinner this time. They checked us in for our reservation, and we had a wonderful evening. Service, food and wine were all fantastic, as was the bread pudding for dessert. Very neat combination."

  • "Great neighborhood restaurant with familiar comforts - friendly staff, cozy environment. Food was mixed this time. Caesar salad bland and pate was chewy (not normal for either dish)."
    Dined on 10/25/2013
  • "Any entree with seafood has been superb! Another good choice would be the roasted chicken breat stuffed with spinach, mushrooms and pancetta. House specialty for dessert is tiramisu."

  • "We dined on a Tuesday evening and it took over 30 minutes for our order to be taken. The restaurant was not busy and I have no explanation why it took so long to place our order. The noise level was quite high. It was difficult hearing the person sitting next to me. Food was OK, but prices were a bit high. The tab for four people with three glasses of wine was $180. It will be long time before we return to Cafe Torre."

  • "2 of us ordered the Nicoise Salad, another person ordered the Vegetarian Pasta and another person ordered the Chef special (scallops). We all also ordered dessert; bread pudding (this was fabulous) and sorbet. All of us enjoyed our meal and didn't feel rushed or pushed to leave (we ended up staying 45 min later after finishing our meal). Will definitely come back again..."

  • "Overall, the experience was good. Our entrees were excellent (lasagne and Ravioli's), and the portions were good (we always seem to take enough home for leftovers). My only comment is that the last two times in I have felt as if it should have been a privilege to be able to dine there. The wait staff was so serious and seemed to be in a hurry, as if we were not the most important 3-top for them at that moment in time. Having worked in the restaurant business when I was younger, we were taught to make each table of customers feel as if they were special. A warm greeting, some small talk, a smiling face, and prompt attentive service. An evening meal for me is "an experience", a treat and something I should look forward to."

  • "The food is good, the service is also good, the lighting way too bright, but the wines by the glass list is exceptional! If you want more options that 5 types of wine, go to Cafe Torre."
