Café SebastienneGrouper special was very goodGrouper special was very good as was the rubarb crisp for dessert.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways good; a favorite lunch spotCafe Sebastienne is one of my favorite places for lunch in Kansas City. Great ambience and consistently good food. Dinner on weekends also great.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMEXCELLENTSebastienne is always a sure bet. The service was attentive and personable and the food was delicious. Try the carrot ginger soup and pork chop. The staff is very down to earth but know their menu. If you haven't eaten here, you need to for the experience. You will not be disappointed!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I love comingMy husband and I love coming here for dinner or brunch on our visits to KC. The food is great and affordable, the service attentive and friendly. A true treat!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMSo Fun!I had a lovely time at Cafe Sebastienne on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was great, the server Tyler was knowledgeable about the menu and had a good suggestion on a wine pairing. I'll definitely come again.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMTotal PackageFirst time Café Sebastienne and was very impressed! The ambience incredible, food amazing and service from Dale was wonderful. Will definitely be returning soon!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner was good. New EnglandDinner was good. New England steamers were best I've ever had in midwest. Lamb was a little strange because it seemed like they dumped a whole bottle of capers on the plate and rested the lamb on it. Salmon was good. Dessert was excellent and service was good. Don't know why they didn't serve dinner in the nicer dining room rather than the small corner side room.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA quiet Friday eveningWife enjoyed lamb.
I and another had salmon, with pesto, capers, and broccolini---?. Salmon was vy good. 4 or 5 capers hardly qualifies as with capers in my opinion. Greens were overcooked yet tough. Pesto was nice. Service excellent.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love the atmosphere here,We love the atmosphere here, waiter attentive and food a feast for the eyes as well as the palate.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI dine at Cafe SebastienneI dine at Cafe Sebastienne for Mother's Day Brunch with my family. The service was outstanding the waiter was very attentive and the food was excellent.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely settingThough a bit noisy due to high ceilings and reflective surfaces, the space is light-filled and airy and the food is delicious.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderful mother's day brunch!Cafe Sebastienne hit it out of the ball park again! Soooo tasty. Excellent service. Awesome artistic vibes. Really good coffee. We'll be back for brunch again and again..5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMEvery time I dine here I'mEvery time I dine here I'm reminded of what a great restaurant this is.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Sunday BrunchThe food was delicious - French Toast was the best I've ever had in a restaurant, and crab cakes were heavenly. The manager came to the table and spoke to us, which made us feel welcome. She was delightful as well as our server, who was attentive, very friendly and smiled all the time. We live 200 miles away, but we definitely will come back next time we are visiting Kansas City.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAlmost OutstandingThe food is innovative and flavorful - some of the best in town. The atmosphere is still a little unsatisfying; the inside is dominated by way too many (loud) distracting copies of notable paintings. The courtyard has a cold feel (no sound absorbing surfaces) and can be noisy if only partially full. The service can be good but sometimes it is a little slow and distracted. The wine list is small but well chosen -- someone really knows what they are doing! Did I mention how good the food is??4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFood great. They were outFood great. They were out of the wine we wanted (an easy one to get locally) and one of four entrees came out quite late.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMA perennial favorite of oursA perennial favorite of ours but only open Friday and Saturday nights for dinner. Maybe that is what makes Cafe Sebastienne so special. It's fun to stroll around the exhibits and visit the gift shop too.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful location. MenuBeautiful location. Menu changes frequently. Great staff4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, crude artThe soup of the day, creamy brussel sprout, was exceptional. The salmon entree was very good. The only thing I don't like about this restaurant is the artwork covering the walls. It is garish, disconcerting, and crude interpretations. It does not provide for a relaxing dining experience. The installation on the wall in the "courtyard" is much more pleasing.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friend and i had lunchMy friend and i had lunch here. She was visiting from out of town. We had a delightful meal. She had one of the lunch specials, which was crab cakes and i had the ruby trout from the menu. Both were delicious. The list of wines by the glass had some very pleasant surprises on it and we each enjoyed a glass with lunch. Service started out a little uneven but got a lot better and lunch was very enjoyable. the surroundings are beautiful. we ate in the restaurant, as i think the atrium can get a little noisy. this is a great place to take visitors. i enjoy eating lunch here, it just feels special.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the venue, the menu,Love the venue, the menu, and the quality of the food. Felt a bit "pestered" by our waitress after we were finished and were just chatting. Also, I chose "energetic" for the noise level because you didn't offer "too noisy." When one has to raise one's voice to be heard by those at your table, it's a minus for us.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMmy brothers were in from mainemy brothers were in from maine and st. louis so my sister and i chose to take them to a place they had not been.
charles was most accommodating making the evening most pleasant.
the dinners were yummy and we somehow managed to squeeze in the bread pudding and the apple crisp.
all most sumptuous.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMSet in the Kemper Museum ofSet in the Kemper Museum of Modern Art, the food as well as the art is masterpiece quality!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe woman who was our serverThe woman who was our server was exceptionally pleasant - I can't remember her name, but she was dark haired & from the Ukranine. Please give her a gold star for us. Thanks.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food here is outstanding,The food here is outstanding, and it's a bonus that it's inside the Kemper Museum. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, with large windows and tons of art. The servers all know their stuff, and everything on the menu is deligthful. The brunch is great - easily one of the best in the city.2/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe all shared the Rest. WeekWe all shared the Rest. Week selections. Peanut-tomato soup so interesting & delicious. The rib with polenta is to die for; rich chocolate flour-less whipped cream - to top it all off. One word about our server - Leone - very attentive without being annoying - if I could I'd give her a gold star. It's so rare that server's get any credit - she's one that deserves a pat on the back (or better - some kind of reward from the cafe). We all will be back. I love the cafe!1/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food at Sebastienne isThe food at Sebastienne is always inventive & fun - not the usual restaurant fare....one of the reasons I keep coming back. I had the portobello mushroom salad thingie which was unique (love that) - was just a bit disappointed in the size of the mushroom.12/28/2012 12:00:00 AMSebastienne is one of theSebastienne is one of the best restaurants in KC. The food is always fresh, cooked to order & very tasty. This day I had the haibut special - cooked perfectly as in not overcooked! I got to taste the spagetti squash - yum.The Amish chicken looked delicious. We'll all be back! Keep it up Chef Mahoney!!!12/5/2012 12:00:00 AM
