Make reservations unless you like to wait...5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNoisyFood was great ! Service was really friendly and server knew her menu perfectly.
The band was nice but just a little too loud ! Had to stop talking to my partner a few times because I wouldn't even hear myself talking !
But overall, really nice place and I would definitely recommend it.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMVibrant scene_sensational eats!An exceptional experience. My wife and I were seated immediately...we chose an outdoor table under the heat lamps. The waiter was excellent...his recommendation for a flight of sangria samples were spot on. The pear and liche(?) sangrias were outstanding. The signature bleu cheese filled dates (wrapped in bacon) were a true delight...a perfect complement to their statement El Matador margarita. The pan seared scallops were tender and tasty. But the braised short ribs with manchego potatoes...simply amazing and full of taste. That alone was worth the visit. My wife basically ate half of my plate. (smile). We even had a chance to go downstairs to the night club and dance some of the night away. Just a terrific meal and night out.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a good enjoyable dinnerAlways a good enjoyable dinner experience. I do think that if you are eating at the restaraunt, you should be allowed downstairs at no charge. Love cafe Sevilla!!!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great time orderingHad a great time ordering from a vast menu of tapas and paella. Will definitely go again the next time we're in the area.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMReally good tapas spot. AReally good tapas spot. A lot of variety. The tapas are very authentic. Our favorite is the bleu cheese stuffed dates. They also serve traditional Spanish entrees, such as paella, along with a variety of sea food, pork, etc. The paella was outstanding. We have always found the service to be excellent. The value was quite good. Cafe Sevilla has live flamenco music several evenings a week, starting at about 9 pm. The is a large area downstairs with the music stage and bar. We ate upstairs in the dining area. The music form the bar was a little loud. Other than that, a great place. We vacation annually in San Diego and we Cafe Sevilla always have dinner there.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's a bit loud, but the foodIt's a bit loud, but the food is good enough to endure it. Our meal for three was $65. Two of us were full and the other was "just right" so I think that's a good estimation. I never forget to order the seafood crepe. The empanadas, short rib and spanish sausages are very good as well. Happy hour at the bar 5-7, I think, will help with the bill. I'm not a big fan of sangria but I can recommend the mojito!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMTop-rate tapasWe loves tapas bars, and found this place on busy Fifth Ave in San Diego's Gaslight District. The place was full of energy, with diners ranging from couples to groups of 6-8. Service was fast and the food was brought out quickly. The selections were presented nicely and tasted wonderful. Would certainly go back the next time we visit.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dinner - wide varietyExcellent dinner - wide variety of flavors with attentive service. Only down side is location - Gas Lamp District has no parking so be prepared for a hike.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Tapas Restaurant! The best place for small plates/tapas/cocktails. The food is excellent, and they have a wide variety of items to choose from. Kalamata Olive bread is a must!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellant Spanish food! This was our first visit and we loved it! We shared 5 different tapas dishes and all but one were delicious and we'd order them again. We started out with the tuna ceviche - it was our favorite of the night. Also tried the empanadas - they were great! The fig/cheese flatbread was terrific - had the lamb, which wasn't so good as it was overcooked, but our waitress was lovely and more than willing to return it to the kitchen and take it off our bill. We also had the pork belly, which, if you like pork belly, I guess it was pretty good; not my favorite but then, I'm not the one who ordered it! All in all, a very good place to eat and drink. We will definitely return!2/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service are alwaysThe food and service are always first rate here. It's hard to find a restaurant downtown where you can satisfy your appetite (which is pretty hearty in our case) without breaking the bank. Cafe Sevilla is definitely an exception to the rule in the Gaslamp Quarter.1/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had as nice of an experienceWe had as nice of an experience at the San Diego location as at the Riverside location though SD is smaller. The food is always excellent and well prepared and the servers are polite and friendly A+1/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
