wonderful restaurant--food, ambiance, service, variety, convenient, over 20 years pleasing its customers is a testament to knowing how to run a quality establishment that keeps its regulars and attracts newcomers. AND accommodating, willing to propose to create a vegetable soup to please a diner is extraordinary. The presentation adds to the enjoyment of the food. And I should add the sommelier (in such a small restaurant) received applause from a group in the next room. Why go downtown to spend more and enjoy less!

We celebrated my wife's 68th Birthday. We were met at the door by the owner. As soon as we were seated the waiter was there to take our drink order. The specials he read to us was outstanding. Service was as good as it gets. The food was was nicely presented. and was outstanding. I would go back there for a ll special occassions.

I love going here, and picked it for a special occassion. However, one of the appetizers was not up to par and they did take it off the bill, but I was really hoping it would have been better. The rest of the food was very good, the service was excellent, and we had a nice quiet table. I was glad we were not in the main room, as it sounded like there was a loud group, complete with noisy children. Not sure why people bring small children to such a adult romantic spot.

It reminded me of dining in Europe: you've been to a restaurant so many times, you are greeted like an old and dear friend, except this was our first time at Cafe Renaissance. The chef comes out of the kitchen and strolls through - checking in on familiar and new faces. In our case, he offered a spur of the moment improvisation to our order, which was excellent. The waiter was a character, yet efficient and entertaining. There was a large party sort of partitioned off with wooden folding screens - I imagine the ambiance and noise is different when it is just the usual restaurant diners. You could see how everyone was enjoying themselves. It really was a delightful dining experience.

We celebrated my wif's Birthday and shared a Hearts of Palm salad which was delicious with tender palm and fresh tomato and herbs. We both had the Parmessian Crusted Cod which was cooked perfectly with a nice sauce and scallop. The entree is served "French" style with five different sides-harticots verts, potato, zucchini, etc.-really tasty! We finished with a sampler platter of 4 desserts which was really great- mango cake, a decadent flowerless chocolate cake (delicious!!), lenon cello ckae and a tasty cookie. The restaurant staff really makes you feel welcome and flower arrangemts are beautiful!!

Our recent dinner at this restaurant was a a great experience helped by the fact that the four of us are well known to the staff. We were celebrating a birthday and an anniversary? The food was delicious and the portions generous without being overwhelming.we started our meal with salad. Two of number had the lobster special, one of us had veal and all of them really liked heir choices. I had the crispy cod special which I greatly enjoyed. Our celebration was made quite special the show our waiter created while making our Irish coffee. Worth the price of admission,The four of us have celebrated many special occasions at Cafe Renaissance and have never failed to have a wonderful time. This evening was nones epitome.

Have been to Cafe Renaissance many times and the evening always exceeds expectations. Outstanding martini's, many superb appetizers to choose from, a very good menu with MANY specials, and a nice array of deserts. Lots of interesting wines available. The presentation of the Irish Coffee is the best I have seen here in the U.S. and International. We were a group of five adults and had a VERY pleasant evening. Waiters and the manager are friendly and give intelligent suggestions to enhance the dining. We'll be coming back....often.

My wife and I visit Cafe Renaissance as often as we can. Quiet, romantic, friendly - this restaurant always provides a fun dining experience. Chef Ocean offers a variety of menu specials, so we rarely need the menu. His cooking is outstanding. The owner greets every patron and ensures they are pleased. The wait staff team is knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. Once you try it, you will want to return.

The restaurant was nice, but the waiters and staff didn't seem to know how to handle younger diners. The ambiance is overall very formal, but the restaurant was practically empty and the waiters were overly present, which left me feeling like I couldn't have a conversation.

The waiter was intrusive and unkempt, the wine glass on the table was filthy, and the white rose in a freezing cold vase had now turned brown from being reused and refrigerated too many times. The waiter insisted on telling us which seats that we needed to sit at at our own table. "You sit here, You move there." Then the waiter comes to table and abruptly interrupts our conversation and demands that we give him our undivided attention so he can read a litany of specials. When my eyes glanced down to the regular menu, he reprimanded me for not paying attention and that I must put the menu down and only listen to him. The waiter was rude and he ruined what was supposed to be an elegant and expensive dinner.

If you want to spend an hour or two having great food and a friendly and romantic atmosphere, this is your place. The menu features bold combinations that really bring out the flavor of the food. The wine list is very good and wine by the glass gets you a full 8-ounce. My wife and I went for our 34th anniversary and enjoyed it very, very much. Recommended the mussels in pesto and basil sauce appetizer, parmesan-crusted cod entree, and lobster in avocado appetizer. Their espresso coffee is excellent for those of us who like the staining-cup type of coffee. The desserts are also very good; we got a plateful for free since it was our anniversary (did I mention that we loved the service?)

When my wife and I showed up for dinner we were greeted at the door by the man who served our table. The whole staff was very professional while also maintaining a down to earth and "normal" attitude. Our waiter made it a point to talk to us and get to know us. It was more than just a dinner experience. The food was great as well. I had the pepper steak which was cooked exactly how I asked and my wife ordered the rigatoni...which I finished for her since she was full. It was also delicious. I look forward to returning even though it was about 30 minutes from where we live.

My wife and I chose Cafe' Renaissance to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. As noted by many reviewers, the meal, ambiance, and service were superb (don't let the location or the façade fool you). Enhancing the experience was the cast of ethnically diverse characters who welcomed, charmed, and served us: the owner, Iranian; the waiter, Bulgarian, and the Chef, Turkish. Their interaction with us and - other patrons - was both helpful and engaging. The wife insists that this is our new "special dinner" place; she won't have to twist my arm.

Bunch of unprofessional people are running this place. they think they are friendly But I think kissing hand of customers female companion, hugging them and kissing them in front of their man by Owner, waiters, chef is not considered friendliness. it is disrespecting your customer which makes most customers uncomfortable. it gives the customer the feeling of being Surrounded with bunch of old dirty man. specially when females customer being checked out from behind up and down by Restaurant chef who is wondering between kitchen and dining room is surly not friendliness. owner and chef help themselves to pull a chair at you table and sit at your table and cheat chat with you while checking out your companion or even your wife.

You won't get bad cooking here, but the menu is all over the place and needs to be curated. Gazpacho, veal, ravioli, tuna tartar, this restaurant needs to make up its mind what it wants to be. Music runs the gamut from Clayderman piano, classical, and Moonlight Sonata, what? Strip mall location is a bit dissonant when you are greeted with big vase, molding, and boudoir wall paintings inside. Waiter read us 5 minutes of special, most of it variations on the menu, we were very confused. Treated to a dinner-theatre sideshow of Irish Whiskey flambéed tea-pulling which was more style than authenticity. Mussel in basil cream, squash ravioli, both very good; crab in avocado was decent. Was given apple sparkling wine postprandial, a nice touch.
