Diner Reviews
  • "The food was outstanding!! I got the warm goat cheese salad, filet mignon, and my boyfriend got the Cesar salad, duck and we shared the banana crepe. It was all very impressive and delicious! The servers were very knowable about the wine, and were excellent at continuously refilling our water glasses and ensuring our overall dining experience. I would definitely recommend a reservation especially on the weekends. I look forward to going back again!"

  • "great food, impeccable prepared, beautifully presented"

  • "I ordered the halibut & was very diappointed. The piece of fish I received looked like the tail end - less than a 1/4 inch thick - I expected a thicker piece - at least 1/2 inch or more. Also, the articoke sauce did not have much/any flavor. As I eat here with some frequency I know this was Not up to Provence's standards. For $17 you expect more. In contrast, Tatsu's has Chilean Bass (at least 1/2 in. thick) with vegetables & includes a salad for $19.90. I was there on the 9th with a friend so I did NOT complain to the waitress. If I had been alone I would have said something. I am hoping that this was just an off day as I have a reservation again for Wednesday the 16th so I have not given up on Provence. Sue Gordon"

  • "The food is really good in general, but the tables are so close together you feel like you are eating with strangers. Have had better nights there, with the biggest complaint being that that the veal scallopini was very salty, second being the noise level with too many tables in such tight quarters. For the money we will be searching out different options."

  • "I brought a friend who had never experienced Cafe Provence before. She was amazed with everything that she experienced. Cave Provence is a favorite place of mine and I love to showcase it. Your waitstaff is outstanding. The food is phenomenal The atmosphere is quiet and elegant. I will return often."

  • "First time dining here. It is very cozy and intimate. The meal is not rushed at all. Food is excellent. We had the scallops and a filet, along with salad and halibut. Cannot say enough about the food and service. The best meal we have had in a very long time. We will definitely be back to dine again."

  • "Every dish was over-the-top! Terrific service! (We had originally been placed at a table near several young women who were quite loud. But upon request, were moved to the other side of the restaurant where we could hear each other speak!) Best dinner out we have had in years! Thank you."

  • "Cafe Provence is one of our favorite restaurants. We love the ambiance and the food. We had a server we never had before and he was absolutely perfect. His timing could not have been better and we really appreciate that. It's the perfect place for a nice, adult lunch. Another plus, we've never had an issue with poorly behaved children or screaming babies in this restaurant - it's probably just the clientele this type of restaurant attracts, but it is a huge asset."

  • "As usual did not disappoint. Sat at our favorite booth.Food was great. Everyone remarked how good everything was. We always go there for a special Occasion. This was our 55th Anniversary and we took our best friends with us. The restaurant was full but our server was attentive. I could go on and on about everything we like about this place."

  • "The food was fantastic! Both of us had the French Onion soup, a salad & a small plate. When I was finished I was comfortably full. The small plate of Maine lobster was flavorful & cooked just right. Some people have given reviews stating the prices are high: I felt the prices were reasonable for the superb quality. Danielle was attentive, quick, knowledgable. The only negative for me was the tables are too close together: it makes conversations a challenge especially when a person two tables over has a voice that carries. My dining partner and I will return to try other entrees."

  • "My best friend and I dined here for lunch the other day. It is small but inviting. The food is excellent, I had the French onion soup and Le Jardin, which was a butternut squash topped with delectable veggies. Kind of pricey, so I will save it for special occasions."

  • "The food is appropriately French, delicious, yet not stodgy, the wine list brief but decent, and the service is great. The atmosphere is intimate but not at all stuffy. Very comfortable and inviting."

  • "Everything about Cafe Provence is outstanding. It's a small family run restaurant where you are treated like royalty. The menu is an excellent variety, leaving you with the desire to return again. Presentation is over the top. This is one of my very favorite places, whether it is for lunch or dinner. Thanks to everyone for your excellence and quality."

  • "The food was excellent, all beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. I was there for lunch. I had the endive blue salad, the scallops & a strawberry crepe. The scallops were perfect, the salad excellent. I ordered the creeps because want went by (I do not normally order dessert) and it looked wonderful. It was! The restaurant is cozy and conducive to conversation and relaxation. The service is attentive, but not overwhelming. A lovely experience."

  • "French music plays softly in the background, almost drowned out by the "umms" of hungry diners as they get whiffs of tantalizing soups and entrees being served by well-trained wait staff, many of whom are members of the owners' family. This is a family-owned restaurant and diners are treated as welcomed guests. The food is nearly always delicious, and desserts range from wonderful to spectacular. The wine list is well rounded, prices are reasonable, and it is a true pleasure to find fine dining in a casual atmosphere in a neighborhood shopping center.."

  • "Had delightful birthday dinner for my sister at Cafe Provence. We both got the special, which was lemon fish in a yummy sauce with red pepper, onion, asparagus and polenta stuffed gnocchi.  Crusty French bread with butter, on the side.  The soup of the day was pureed celery root with apple and ginger, that was really tasty, smooth and creamy.  We nibbled on olives and almonds before dinner.  I drank a tasty Pinot noir that was well rounded and smooth.  Dessert for me was three small scoops of sorbet, and my sister had a crepe stuffed with sliced fresh strawberries.  We topped it all off with excellent French press coffee.  Server was attentive, never made us feel we should move along--even though we lingered over our meal for four hours."

The food was absolutely FABULOUS!! You cannot go wrong dining at the Cafe Provence. We will definitely return and with more friends!"

  • "Best food in town - or any town, for that matter!!!"
    Dined on 2/18/2014
  • "Based on reviews, I had high expectations for Cafe Provence. We had 6:30 reservations for 2 on a Wed night. We were seated at a table near the door, which was cold every time door was opened. Throughout our entire dinner, there were at least 2 other tables remaining empty further away from door where we could have been seated. Our server was less than attentive and made us feel rushed. The flavor of the food was good, but neither dish was served hot (just warm). Also, this could be a good restaurant for a romantic meal, but because tables are so close, your meal can be spoiled by close tables with patrons speaking loudly and using profane language (as we experienced)."

  • "This is a very nice and dainty French restaurant with great food. It is a cozy place that has a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. The menu and wine list are not boring. The filet mignon was tender and cooked to our perfection. Plan to go back."
