Diner Reviews
  • "I had the fish and chips and it was not good, very spongy"

  • "We were at the dental convention and decided to eat at Cafe Pacifica. We were seated right away, which was great. When time came to order, our server forgot the soup of the day and had to go back to the kitchen to check. In addition, I have a dairy allergy and was asking if one of the sandwiches had any dairy and she said "it shouldn't", and didn't bother to double check with the kitchen. Our food came quickly, and was delicious. Our waiter never came back to refill our water, amd when we were finished eating, it was so hard to get our waiter's attention to get the bill. We ended up flagging another waiter down to find our waiter. It took a very long time to pay our bill and go. Overall the food was very good, but service was poor."

  • "The food is amazing! Such a variety - fresh fruit, salads, seafood, fish, pastries, brunch basics, prime rib, dimsum, dessert heaven. Definitely worth the price!"

  • "I was in visiting a friend and treated her to brunch at the Pan Pacific Hotel. It was a delicious experience and we both walked out extremely full. She is a vegetarian and she found a ton of options to eat and didn't even have room for the amazing dessert table. Next time I am in Vancouver I would definitely treat myself to brunch there again."

  • "For the price they charge, one would expect fine cuisine. But the lunch plates they served, Salmom and Black Cod were both dry and had no taste. This restaurant does not match up to other five stars hotel restaurants."

  • "Cafe Pacficia was closed for dining. Instead we had dinner at the lounge section."

  • "Food was delicious, service was very very good, overall a very relaxing experience for me and my friend. Price was exceptional for the quality. Would recommend to anyone."

  • "We enjoyed our dinner very much. Our server was great & very helpful. The food was delicious and the setting is beautiful."

  • "I had the parsnip soup and lamb and enjoyed them immensely. Serving size was generous for a big fellow like myself..:) The calamansi tart was a surprise treat, though a tad too sweet for me. Overall great casual atmosphere with great service in the forever popular PP Hotel."

  • "Our visit was during "dine out Vancouver". ..... delicious creme fraiche soup. We all chose the lamb which was tender and a very generous serving along with tasty vegetables on a bed of creamy risotto. The finale ... a delicious dessert tart , all for $28. Good service. ......waiter had no problem with the request from 1 guest to cook the lamb a bit more and for separate bills."

  • "I loved my food. My fiance enjoyed his, but wasn't quite as satisfied with his selection. Smaller sized portions, but quality flavouring and my lamb was cooked beautifully! Gorgeous views, nice setting."

  • "I had possibly the worst and slowest service from the most confused waitress of all time. The food was superb but came in extremely small portions. Is this a fine dining restaurant or just a cafe?"
    Dined on 1/23/2014
  • "Had a look at the menu and decided to try it out. The food was amazing! APPY- we ordered both options. - Parsnip soup was 7.5/10 - Salad was 9/10 - I was surprised.. did not expect to like bree w oatmeal. ENTREE- we tried 2 of 3 - Sous Vide Lamb- so tender and perfectly cooked. 8/10 - Sable fish- has Asian influence mushroom broth... soo good. 8/10 Dessert- 1 option - Calamansi tart- would prefer it more tart and take away the caramel. 6.5/10 Definitely coming back to try other menu items!"

  • "Excellent food. I ordered lamb shoulder which is very tender and juicy. My daughter ordered ling cod which has a lot of favour. The desert tart is little too crispy for me. Overall, a very good meal for my family."

  • "We had a great experience at Cafe Pacifica during the Dine Out Vancouver 2014 festival. There was an Italian buffet and live music on that night, but we decided on dining at the lounge side. We got a spectacular view of the north shore at our table, which is a must for a romantic dinner. The service was great as the waiters and waitresses were attentive. The food was beyond what we had expected for a $28.00 Dine Out menu from a higher end restaurant. Overall our night was unbelievable."

  • "We were extremely disappointed with our first experience at Cafe Pacifica. The food ( organic chicken breast for me, black cod for him) was bland, with no memorable flavours. The room is more like a cafeteria. There is no ambience created in this space."

  • "Portions were small. I am not a big eater, but after 3 courses, I still left a bit hungry. The food was lukewarm. Plus, there was a child running around squealing. At one point, he was right behind my chair - and it was around 9pm. Finally, when we wanted to pay our bill, there was not a server to be seen. Would definitely not recommend."

  • "We enjoyed a great Sunday brunch at Pacifica in the Pan Paific Hotel in downtown Vancouver. It was a huge brunch buffet with multiple choices.... all choices were great. Our server was excellent. We would recommend and would return."

  • "My boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday at Pan Pacifica. We both loved the sceneries, vibes, music and the food. Overall, it is our favourite lunch buffet in Vancouver."

  • "My wife and I decided to celebrate our 3rd anniversary with the Opera buffet at Cafe Pacifica. And we made the right choice. As a buffet, the selections were not much to choose especially for hot items; but the quality is definitely up to par. And the overall dinner experiences was great. The service was first class. And it was a treat to be able to listen to the wonderful live music and to enjoy a very good quality of food."

  • "Great food and most importantly, great entertainment. An excellent performance of contemporary and oldies piano music by a live piano performance."

  • "Pan Pacific Sunday Market Brunch was the perfect place to celebrate a birthday or any special occasion. Memorable experience with amazing selection of breakfast, lunch, and dessert options. Fabulous ambiance with live piano music and a beautiful view of the North Shore. Customer service was excellent amd the servers surprised us with a birthday cake! Definitely recommend for any special occasion."

  • "I had never heard of the Saturday Night opera buffet, and just booked at the last minute as we finished up a 2 day event @ the nearby Vancouver Convention Centre .....the buffet was really excellent, the service ( thanks Harry !) was very attentive and the opera singing was lovely to hear and fun to watch. It was a lovely evening and i will come back again soon."

  • "Pan Pacific has one of the largest selections of fruit and dessert for brunch downtown and the only only reason I have been going back is for their service. The service is not comparable to before, the food does not have higher quality control than other brunches downtown and the only thing they have are salmon and capers which are not available at other downtown brunches. It's nice to try their brunch if you haven't but I rather go elsewhere if I'm downtown for a better buffet brunch."
