WE ARRIVED AT OUR RESERVED TIME AND NO ONE WAS IN THE RESTAURANT EXCEPT THE STAFF. WE WERE HANDED A MENU BUT IT WAS A LUNCH MENU. OUR WAITER SAID IT WAS NOT A MISTAKE. WE DECIDED NOT TO STAY AND HE SUGGESTED ANOTHER RESTAURANT FOR OUR DINNER. IN ORDER TO SUBMIT THIS REVIEW I WAS REQUIRED TO FILL IN THE RATINGS. WE HAD NO FOOD OR DRINK AT ALL AND I FEEL IT IS UNFAIR TO RATE IT. I ONLY FILLED IN THAT PART BECAUSE IT WAS REQUIRED.

I work in the French Quarter and I am always looking for something new. Cafe Opera has delicious food! The crab cake was the best I've had in a long time and the spinach and artichoke dip was to die for! They have great shrimp poboys and chicken quesadillas. Service was great too which is hard to come by in the Quarter sometimes.

The restaurant has a very limited menu, but what they do offer is great. They had one server who worked her hardest to keep up the demand. She was pleasant and courteous, BUT EXTREMELY overwhelmed. I would try it again on a regular night. It is well-located and exceptionally quiet for all that is going on right outside the windows. It was like getting a great dinner show!

Mostly sandwich shop level fare. Wine list was fair. Mixed drinks were passable, Price was good and the only redeeming feature. I would not return unless they revisit the menu in a dramatic way. Service person was very kind, but slow and overworked.

Went to Café Opera for dinner with family. Chose because of coolinary menu. Dinner was ok for coolinary prices. Dining room was totally empty and the outside noise of bourbon st. could be heard clearly. Service was a little slow, especially for no one else being in the restaurant. A waiter(not ours) who came to our table frequently to talk looked messy and wore a stained shirt.

The soups (seafood gumbo and onion soup) were not so great, entree and dessert were very good, in fact the seafood pasta was outstanding. The cocktails were excellent. We ordered off the Coolinary Menu, which included many options and was a great value.

We went there while they were offering the Coolinary menu. For that price, it was great. To go there without that menu, however, would probably be pretty expensive. The food was well-cooked and delicious, but they also do not seem to have a lot of options on their standard menu.

The bread had raisins and good texture. Otherwise the food was unremarkable--blackened fish and gumbo that are available everywhere in the neighborhood. The night we dined, there appeared to be only one waiter for the entire dining room, so service was extremely slow.

The food and service were very good. And although it is on Bourbon Street, it is quiet, as it is inside a hotel.

Location was great but food was poor. The crab beignets were just fried crab balls and the BBQ shrimp was overdone. Too bad since its location was super and the waitress very nice and eager to please

You folks were outstanding for our Easter brunch. You kept up with our needs before we arrived with your phone calls and your care to make sure that the menu was workable for our formerly-vegan guests. When the Easter parade was seen through the window, you accommodated our desire to experience the parade in between the courses, and when we returned, you made it appear that the timing was perfect for the arrival of the main course- that was much appreciated. We were very happy to have our time together there.

We were told by Charles the manager that the Easter brunch consist of the special Easter menu and the regular lunch menu. Also bottomless mimosa's. BM's or champagne for an extra $9.95. When we arrived, there was no lunch menu and only BM's for an additional $12.00 The only other items that we could get were more or less snack food. We had to leave. Guess that was a lot of mis-communication going on.

We were in New Orleans Easter weekend and had not made reservations for Saturday night at any of the "name" restaurants. Needless to say none were available when looking mid-week. We reviewed the Cafe Opera menu online and found that it appealed to our tastes. The food was excellent and the wine was very reasonably priced.
