A word from Cafe Murano
Growing up one of 5 children in a tight-knit New Jersey family, Chef John relished the chance to work in the kitchen with his European grandmother, and it was from her that he developed his deep affection for Italian cuisine.

He cites his opportunity to work alongside Master Chef Giuseppe Formica at Hotel Giardino, in, Pesaro, Italy, as having a profound influence on his culinary philosophy.

Here at his popular upscale restaurant on Italy’s Adriatic coast, Chef John learned the delicate art of making pastas, breads and pastries a mano, and gained a finer appreciation for the importance of freshness, quality and simplicity in Italian Cuisine.

Chef John’s love of food is enhanced by his engaging personality and his love for people. Dine at Café Murano and discover a friendly welcoming atmosphere, an amazing meal and a longing to return.

This was a good dining experience for us. I wouldn't say it was wow, but nice. I am starting to see a trend of restaurants not having everything on their wine list in-stock and the waiters not being informed about it. We order a wine bottle and have to wait and see if they have it. It's dissapointing. Plus, you have to make up your mind about another bottle pretty quickly. This restaurant is kid-friendly; however, we went through three high chairs before they found one that was not broken. I prefer this spot for lunch rather than dinner.

I love Cafe Murano. This was not my first visit and will not be my last. The food is incredible, the service is friendly and competent, and my husband appreciates the selection of craft beers. We love the band that plays in the evening and the beautiful view. I continually recommend the restaurant and no one is ever disappointed. All this for affordable prices.

Food was delicious! Portions generous! Great beer list! Service was good,Disappointed happy hour was not mentioned during entire meal when we overheard from neighboring table that it was last call for happy hour. We would of gladly purchased more alcohol even possibly stayed longer as we were weary about drinking due to us being ensure about our plans afterwards.

We went here for Father's Day and really enjoyed it. The kids portions were very generous for only $5. The adult portions were a good size too. None of us could finish our meal. My ravioli entree was only ok, but I enjoyed the appetizer and salad a great deal. Next time I'll try a different entree. The server was spot on.

Atmosphere inside very relaxing, there is also a bar area, and outside seating(that we found out is pet friendly). The food is amazing from start to finish. Dont miss while in Altamonte!

This location has gone through a number of businesses over the 20 years we have lived in Altamonte Springs. Cafe Murano has proven to be the venerable establishment. The food and atmosphere are great and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I love the fact that the owner is a craft bee aficionado - I hoe they continue to expand their offerings :-)

The restaurant was rather noisy and it was difficult to hear the person sitting across the table. Also, due to the position of the table, the glare off the water and umbrella outside the door was blinding. We should have asked them to turn our table so that it was more conducive to conversation and enjoyment. We were located in the walkway to the patio. One side of the table had the setting sun in their eyes. The food was good but waiter made infrequent trips to our area. We also had to watch for him then ask for water refills; service was not tops. I only recommend if you ask to be seated in the dining area rather than the open area with the bar and have plenty of time.

My girlfriend and I walk around the trail next door once a week, and we wondered if this place was as good as it looked from outside. It is. On Festival Dr in a lovely enclave in Altamonte Springs, FL called Uptown. We were visiting our daughter and looking for a late night spot for those of us with a craving for Italian and Murano did not disappoint. The ravioli tasted homemade and the bolognese sauce is to die for. While my penne vodka was a little too salty, our salads (house and caesar) were spot on. The bread is delicious - try not to fill up on it too much as the portions are quite large. We will be back next time we visit!

This is the third time I have eaten here and the first time we ate inside. The outside is great and the bar is nice, but the dining area that is in a different room is a little odd. It did not seem to fit with the rest of the place. I don't remember the name of our server but the service was slow. Very slow. They were nice but not very attentive. The food, on the other hand, was great! Everyone in the group loved the food including the kids. They also have a decent selection of craft beers and good wine list.

Food was excellent. Booths were comfortable. The outstanding point of the evening, besides having dinner with my wife, was our server. Our youngest daughter was a server for several years and we are tuned in to what a server should be.. Jamie exceeded our expectations. She was personable and friendly but maintained a high degree of professionalism. Her knowledge of the menu and recommendations were excellent. We will definitely be back. Robert

Cafe Murano has your typical Italian fair at a good price. The location at Cranes Roost makes it a hot spot for locals so its pretty busy on weekends. Food is good and ambiance nice in the dining room. The bar area is large with several TVs and dining space as well. You can also sit on the outdoor patio which has a nice view of the lake but it fills up quickly in nice weather or special events are at the park. Service varies depending on when you go and who waits on you. In my experience most servers are friendly enough but some tend to disappear once you order and its frustrating if you want another drink or something

They had a band and dancing....nice surprise! The waitress did try to rush us a bit as she brought the salads right after she brought the appetizers....it was Valentine's Day so I understand the need to turn table BUT who wants to be rushed. Anways, she was understanding and the rest of the service was PERFECT. I would reccomend this place to anyone. The fact they had dancing is a rare find now a days and I will take my spouse back just for this alone. The food was good. The place is in a great location on the lake. We had reservations on Valentines day, and they called us a few days prior to confirm we were still coming a nice touch. They required us to arrive 10 minutes before our reservation time to ensure prompt service and we did that and got seated right away. The place was packed. We were seated in what looked like a meeting or group room and we're introduced to our server pretty quickly. From that point on, the service was very slow but the food was awesome. The best veal picatta I've ever had and the recommendation from the server to my wife was also a delicious dish. I would de go back on a less busy day.

We got there 15 minutes early, but our table by the window was ready. The service as excellent and the food and wine was very good. The meal was well paced, we did not feel rushed at all, even though the resturant was full. They have some wonderful deserts, so make sure you leave room to try one. I recommend the Lemoncello Italian cake. Best of all, the prices are very resonable and the portions are generous. We had a great appearance and would recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
