  • "We had a party of six for lunch at the Modern before heading over to the Kimball to see the Samurai exhibit. While not a terrible experience it was much less good than in the past. Service was a bit spotty and the food was mediocre with 5 of the people not really liking it. The Wagyu beef burger was the star but 3 Moroccan chicken salads were well below par with the salad being very uninteresting. Two ordered BLTs (though the first person who ordered was given a chicken salad but that was corrected) and the tomato is more a sauce than actual slices which neither liked. It wasn't that it was a terrible experience but it was certainly the worst experience out of the half a dozen times my wife and I have dined there and brought friends."

  • "The Cafe Modern was a great dining experience and we were very pleased with the service and the menu! The food was very good and the service was excellent!! We were also pleased that a children's menu was provided and made dining with a child easier!! We had a great time, the only downside was that it was somewhat noisy!!"

  • "While my experience with Cafe Modern has always been good, I have to say the noise level was extremely high this visit. It was distracting and hard to concentrate on my conversation with my dining partner until the crowd thinned out. I wish something could be done to tone it down. And in the checkboxes above, there should be an option for "noisy." "Energetic" isn't the right word for my experience."

  • "Come here regularly throughout the year, usually for brunch. Came for Father's Day. They had a special menu for Father's Day. Kid's Menu too. Service and food were fantastic as usual"

  • "The brunch menu was varied and interesting--something for everyone. The Manly Quiche was savory and delicious in a puff pastry shell. The Eggs Benedict was also a hit. We will return soon!"

  • "Food ranges from very good to excellent. Ambiance is terrific. Service is consistently first-rate. Good choice for special occasions (Mother's Day; Father's Day, etc.) Can be noisy when crowded."

  • "Overlooking a small, man made lake, the restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. Menu is diverse. Something for everyone, while deliciously different. Service was immediate and food delivered quickly. Look forward to returning."

  • "Great setting looking out on the water and grounds of the museum. The food was outstanding (piggie in a blanket and spinach artichoke grilled cheese). A nice experience, and lots more things on the menu we will try on future visits."

  • "What a wonderful surprise to find a beautiful lunch spot inside the Fort Worth Modern museum of Art. Not only was the food delicious and the service impeccable but the water view is an added bonus. My sister in law and I both had the copper river salmon special which was very tasty but then we just sat and talked for a few hours because neither one of us wanted to leave our beautiful surroundings. Can't believe my daughter has been in school at TCU all this time and I never knew about this neighborhood gem !"

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch with a view of the man-made museum lake outside the dining area. The ambiance, service and food were all outstanding. It did get a little bit noisy just before we left as the place filled up. I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone. The museum collection is just a few steps from the cafe, so we were able to walk off some calories after brunch. The first Saturday of the month is free at the museum, and we were able to take advantage of that perk."

  • "We always enjoy ourselves here. Nice menu, good food, and open-air feel with all the windows."

  • "Nice for brunch. Menu is small but interesting, could benefit from a bit bigger selections. Eg the only omelette was with sautéed spinach, not everyone's breakfast favorite. First Sunday is free admission at the museum, so drop by for brunch and a walk through the modern art museum."

  • "Food and service are always excellent. Rotating menu provides fresh innovations regularly so food choices don't get stale. Ambience is so peaceful and relaxing that I can't think of a better place to decompress. The barman keeps coming up with fresh cocktail ideas if you like to experiment but the classics are always available. Nice wine list with multiple choices by the glass. All in all, one of our favorite retaurants in Fort Worth."

  • "This cafe in the Fort Worth Modern Art Museum is pretty spectacular. We've eaten in many museum cafes across the US and Europe, and would rate this among the best. The food is always interesting and well prepared, along with being beautifully presented. Chef Dina uses fresh, seasonal ingredients, sourced locally when possible. We're so lucky to live near the Museum and be able to eat there often."

  • "One of my favorite things to do is to go to the Modern and feel the tranquility that the outside view provides. The Cafe Modern menu pairs well with the ambiance of the museum and satisfies multiple palates. I will definitely go back again. "

  • "Went fir an engagement dinner with a chef if all people - we were both surprised at the molecular gastronomy that did not stray from a great dining course at the expense of novelty. Red snapper was seared to perfection moist and the pea foam complemented the pancetta laced vegetables so well - staff was not only attentive they outright spoked us and made a special night an unforgettable one. At the end of the evening they even surprised the future groom with his favorite band playing in the background (rush) this is one happy couple!!!!!"

  • "Lunch was perfect! We overlooked the water feature. The tables were far enough apart that we could visit easily without disturbing others. The menu is varied and unique without being weird. The service was accommodating to our time constraints and was able to offer help with our food selections. I look forward to visiting from Dallas again soon!"

  • "From the moment we entered the restaurant, the experience was incredible. The wait staff was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. The food and beverages were superb. The scenic view was outstanding, and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely be going back to Cafe Modern again and again!"

  • "I had called ahead for a table of 4 for brunch at the Modern Café. I asked for the table to have a good view of the water. The location of the table was exactly as I asked. I had to wait a bit for friends coming in from Dallas; there was no problem. Promptly delivered my request for a cup of decaf coffee. When my friends arrived my waiter waited until all the welcoming conversation was over before coming to the table to explain the menu. The food came hot and wonderful. I normally don't eat a BLT but I had one that day. Excellent! It was a Saturday so they had the brunch menu; which was tempting with many great brunch items. My friends were surprised that Fort Worth had this kinda place. The said the drive was worth every minute it took."

  • "Café Modern always pleases me. The food is just the right balance of trendy and traditional. You get appropriate portions for the price and quality, and entrées come with well-balanced sides. The only thing missing from the wine list is a nice German Riesling. If you like Eggs Benedict, you'll find the Modern Benedict to be one of the best you'll ever enjoy. "

  • "The French bellini was the best bellini ever. I love dining at Cafe Modern but this was something special. My young friend and I are former collegues. Both of us have lost our mothers, hers was much too soon. We decided to commemorative their lives, humor and importance to each of us by celebrating them over Mother's Day Brunch at Cafe Modern. We each brought a photograph of our mothers and our grandmothers, all in heaven now and placed them prominently on our table. It was a positive celebration that meant so much to each of us who otherwise would have been at home in less than celebratory mood on this specific day. Thank you for sending the email promoting Mother's Day Brunch, we made a memory we'll both remember for years to come."

  • "We could not have had a more enjoyable special occasion brunch at Cafe Modern. Situated in a pristine location inside the Modern Museum of Art overlooking a horizon-view pond and sculpture garden, the menu was inventive, the service attentive, the libations delicious, and overall the ambiance was perfect. • "The fact this is inside the museum is one if the main attractions of the restaurant. The food is just not that great. It has been over a year that I have dined her and the same old menu items are still being served. Nothing exiting but the views. "

  • "I had lunch with an acquaintance from several years ago to update each other. We were seated at a window table and totally enjoyed our meal. The volume of noise was very low and our table was distanced from other tables, so we didn't feel like others were hearing our conversation. I always enjoy having lunch there and will definitely go back."

  • "The tranquility of the reflecting pool and the delicious menu are a perfect blend for a great dining experience. This is a "go to" spot for my family, looking for great service for more than just two, to celebrate birthdays and special family events. There is always something on the menu for our vegetarian, vegan and more challenged diners; with a flair for the delicious Asian infused selections. On a very hot Texas day, the cool modern interior, matches the cool and mesmerizing reflecting pool What a great way to enjoy a long leisurely lunch!"

  • "This is a lovely restaurant in a magnificent space, a place to enjoy. One does not usually equate museums and good food. In fact, most museum food is forgettable. Café Modern is an exception. It is a destination in and of itself. It’s almost as if they threw in the museum as an added attraction. Come dine in our beautiful room and, oh, by the way, there’s a world class museum here, too. The homemade breads are delicious. The appetizer and entrée selections vary, but remain consistently good. We normally skip dessert, but not here. It’s too good. We burn off the calories by walking the galleries. The wine list is well-curated and reasonably priced as well. All-in-all it ranks among the best museum food experiences in Europe or North America."

  • "I'm a fan of Café Modern. After viewing all the great art in the Museum District, this is the perfect spot to overcome sensory overload. The serene view of the large pool of water sets the stage and the food is always delicious. The wine list is not extensive but it does provide enough of a variety. The staff is generally attentive and professional, though sometimes a little slow to offer more wine, water and bread refills, etc. The food is carefully prepared and generally leans toward the healthy side. There are good offerings in the small menu to accommodate any mood. Go on! Take a little day trip and make this stop for lunch a perfect escape."
