  • "Easy brunch while at the museum, would not make a special trip if not."

  • "After a few visits, you will feel "conjoined" to this place and enjoy the eponomous sculpture."

  • "We loved everything about our experience at the Modern--the food, the service and the view across that expanse of water--lovely in every way. Highly recommend!!"

  • "We had a lovely lunch with a beautiful view of the reflecting pool and grounds. Only the bread basket needed work. The corn bread was good but the rolls were dry/stale. Service was great but not intrusive."

  • "A reflecting pool, glass walls, architectural splendor make one's surroundings much more than just a resturant. The food was good as well with one of the best appetizers I have ever had. It was a lovely treat."

  • "Excellent restaurant -- one of the best museum restaurants ever."

  • "Definitely worth a trip by itself, Cafe Modern is a cornerstone to a trip to any or all of the Big 3 FW museums (Kimbell, Modern, and Amon Carter). Whether preceding, at mid-point, or at conclusion of art viewing, Cafe Modern gives an experience unrivalled by almost any American art trip (save, on a good day, Danny Meyer's high-end version at NY's MoMA). Recent experience with new brunch menu was rewarding, especially a new Turkish-inspired egg dish which I can't pronounce and their always excellent take on Benedict. This much relaxation usually comes with a healthful massage fee."

  • "Great food in a spectacular setting. The Cafe Modern has a good variety of foods that will appease any seasoned diner"

  • "Uncommonly slow service with other tables arriving later and being served before our server attended us."

  • "I had the special- artic char with rice, asparagus and roasted tomatoes. It was delicious; I ate the whole thing. We also split the flourless cake which was dense and rich like a truffle. Delicious. Service was great. You have a beautiful view of the water and Modern Museum. I would definitely eat here again."

  • "The atmosphere and service were above excellent. The wine list was also commendable."

  • "I am so glad a friend suggested we book a table. It would have been very difficult to be seated without a Rez. Tasty food: wagyu beef burgers, chili and meat loaf sliders."

  • "I have been a strong fan of the restaurant since it opened. The food has always been delightful and inventive. This time I went back to an old menu standard, Moroccan Chicken Salad. The chicken was dry and tough. I sent it back. The new salad the waiter brought was modestly moister but still disappointing. The waiter whirled away without allowing me to chose another entree, which I was prepared to do. I will try the Cafe one more time. If it disappoints again, we are done."

  • "Great creative dishes, but service has always been slow...i believe the table to server ratio is off, when you have their attention they are good."
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "The Lamb salad was not l what I expected . It was what I really wanted. It was not a mound of lettuce and other expected green vegetables with small pieces of lamb distributed in or over it, etc. I was two generous oblong patties of perfectly seasoned lamb cooked perfectly on one side of the plate, three or more slender pieces of the heart of romaine diagonally across the center of the plate and a white starch that I can not identify on the other side of the romaine. The starch was not remarkable. I enjoyed it very much, and plan to order lamb at the Modern again soon."

  • "Two friends joined me for brunch on a Saturday.....coffee was fresh, egg dishes delicious.....sweet potato sup was divine....and chickpea fries are a must try!"

  • "Great view, great ambience, great service, great food. You can see the collection, have dinner and drinks, and then take in the movie, all on Friday evenings at the Modern!"

  • "Met out-of-town friends here to show off our favorite lunch spot. The food was delicious as always but service was not up to par. Something must have been going on in the kitchen! Though we didn't complain, our server eventually apologized about the timing and announced that complimentary soup was on its way. We appreciated that he was aware of the problem and took action. All in all, our group had a wonderful time. I also appreciated that we were seated at the table I had requested when making our reservation!"

  • "Lovely venue. After several years, still fresh, with great service and excellent food. The view across the water gives you the feeling you are somewhere on vacation -- Definitely will return."

  • "Went there for brunch on a Sunday for my wife's birthday. Made reservations, but there really was no reason to as there was plenty of open seating. I specifically chose this spot due to their kid's menu choices. My daughter can be a picky eater, but she was able to find stuff she liked and she loved it. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict, which she had never had, and she really enjoyed it. I ordered the sticky bun pancakes and they were amazing! They had something for every taste and everything looked great. They had quit a drink offering menu for a cafe, and the ones we had were very good. Loved the atmosphere. I highly recommend them for brunch and can't wait to try them for lunch."

  • "If you are going to the museums in Fort Worth, this is a quiet place with good service to have dinner after the visit."

  • "The food was classy but no flexibility for diet restrictions which made it difficult to get a complete meal. The service was effusive and helpful. The Modern scene was wonderful."

  • "Toured art exhibit and had wine before dinner in lobby with jazz. Dinner was awesome and service great. Tends to be noisy, but that seems related to the design of museum. The view and staff made it a very nice evening. Will return. Steve & Marisa"

  • "This comfortable café in the Modern Art Museum has a charming ambiance. Sunday brunch was fresh and delicious with an attractive presentation. The signature cocktails are wonderful! The servers are efficient, attentive, and gracious. Reviews that I had read were negative regarding the service; however, we found the staff to be exceptional! With a pleasant view of the beautiful museum architecture, and a lovely outdoor patio, Café Modern is a nice place for a relaxed weekend brunch!"

  • "Shrimp & grits are exceptional. others had eggs & salads -also delicious. At 12:30 the crowds & noise can mess up the conversation."

  • "I've had lunch and dinner here. This was my first brunch and it was wonderful. Cafe Modern is a great location and real treat, the food and service are wonderful. Enjoy."

  • "We went there for Valentine's Day and it was fantastic. The menu is always eclectic and delicious. The chef is as much an artist as anyone at the museum."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Delicious! Unusual flavors treated the palate to something new! Sumac dressing on salad was delish, turkey chili was fantastic, and even the tiny scones and mini bread rolls were something to delight. Highly recommend making reservations in advance. Gorgeous view and outdoor patio dining available."

  • "My wife and I went here for Valentine's dinner. Hostess station attention was lacking, and the woman who walked us to our table just darted off towards a table, it took us a moment to realize we were to follow her. Our server was very nice though, she even brought us a wine that they were not supposed to offer per their pre fixe menu. Other than that though, our overall experience was less than expected. It might be a good spot for a quick lunch when you are visiting the museum, but not for a special occasion. Especially not for nearly $200."

  • "Unique &varied menu. Everything was very tasty. Found the service a bit slow. But-in their defense there were extra people from a gun show and closing weekend of an exhibit at the Kimball as well as those just out because of the first nice weather in weeks."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "An excellent experience! Menu options were varied and all sounded wonderful. When our food arrived, we were awed by the lovely presentation. Better yet, the food was delicious!"

  • "I do wish Cafe Modern would address the excessive noise level. If the dining room is full, one can not carry on a conversation with other guests at the table."
    Dined on 2/9/2014
  • "The quality of the food matches the quality of the art . The menu is modern and the glass dining room is striking. The Sunday brunch was a great complement to a day visiting the museum."
    Dined on 2/9/2014
  • "Main complaint was how long it took to seat us. Made a lunch reservation in the morning but that didn't seem to make any difference. There were quite a few walk up groups ahead of us when we arrived and all of them were seated before we were. Whether that was equitable or not, in certainly looks like making a reservation is a useless exercise for this restaurant. No, I did not confirm any of this with the hostess."

  • "Good food, attentive service, and a convenient pre-concert location balance a crowded and NOISY dining experience. Hard surfaces everywhere: concrete walls and floor, flat ceiling, and glass windows explain the din; however the convenience of being in the building where an event takes place explains repeated meals here. When it's warm, outdoors is the answer--but not on last day of the Stock Show!"

  • "My husband and I took our eight-year-old son to Saturday brunch at the modern Café. We made reservations and they promptly got us in and seated at a table right by the window with the a great view. The menu is very thoughtful and foodie friendly, however not so out there that everyone couldn't find something they like. The turkey sandwich is excellent as well as the meatloaf sliders. Also, try the hot tea it's very interesting and cute."

  • "We had a pass for a menu item and tickets to the museum. We were able to check in at the cafe and eat and the waitress provided us with a card to pick up our tickets for the exhibits. It was a smooth process. The food had enough of a twist to make us try something different. The food was good. We sat next to the windows so we has an excellent view. My only qualm was the floor and seat had food crumbs so I had to clean my chair before I sat down and did not feel comfortable to place my bags on the floor. However I did notice other people did so it may have just been my spot. I think the view and food were worth the out of town trip we made to the restaurant and museum."
