Wow, the food was as expected and more. The service and staffing was mind-blowingly bad. Actually had to go into the kitchen to find ANYONE when we arrived for our 6:00 reservations. I would go back for the food, but with much lower expectations. Most off putting was the total lack of knowledge that it was a birthday dinner party. Didn't know where the flowers were that I had delivered earlier for the table, and didn't offer a comp. desert as assured by an email from the owner.

It was our first time at Café Malaga. We had a beautiful evening to eat in their expansive back yard. Our server was prompt and the Tapas was definitely the way to go. Sampled many things and we really enjoyed sharing and comparing the variety of things brought out. Roasted Peppers w/sausage and cheese; and Lamb lollipops topped my list. To drink...started with the Sangria that was thankfully not of the sweet syrupy variety then moved on to a pretty good bottle of tempranillo. Overall A rated evening!

We were in McKinney for my son's soccer game and thanks to open table we found this great place. The food was good especially the beef kabobs, and the bread with tomato prosciutto. They had a very pleasant outdoor terrace and patio.

This place is losing it and used to be a lot better... Sure the patio is amazing, the band was playing loud Rock !? What a mood breaker. Service was rushed and without refinement, portions were very uneven in both taste and sizes that tend to be smaller than expected, therefore overpriced for what you get. Get ready to leave hungry. I will not go back again.

I love tapas so I was delighted to find this place. I love that this restaurant is located in a house that dates back 100 plus years. It even has a bomb shelter out in the back yard from the fifties. While it was too hot to eat on the patio, I can see that it will be nice to eat out there when it's cooler. The interior was done very nicely and the food was unbelievalble. We will be returning here soon!

We shared quite a few of the tapas selections among four of us and enjoyed each and every one. Of special note were the bacon wrapped dates that had just the right amount of sweet and salty. There is live music outside, but we chose to stay indoors so that we could have a conversation. It was a beautiful night though, and the outdoors is wonderful for those who would like to relax and listen.

We've been here several times. The food is fabulous. Get the Paella--it serves 6-8 easily. We haven't found a bad tapas yet. Be aware that service can be slow so be sure you have plenty of time to enjoy the backyard outdoor dining. It's got its pluses. This is definitely not a rush through kind of place.

Told it would be an hour wait without a reservation. I got out my phone and made a reservation for 2. The reservation time was only 20 minutes away. Returned to hostess to let her know, and we were told they refuse to serve anyone who shows up without a reservation and then makes a reservation online to reduce their wait time. We had to leave even though there were available seats and we had a confirmed reservation.

Been to Café Malaga before. The food is very good. This time - horrendous service I booked a table in advance to be sure to get to sit outside. We got two round tables which was a but awkward. The party was 2 kids and 4 adults and we ordered food for everyone at the same time. The food for the adults started coming. The kids food was taking very long time so I asked our waiter. He said that the grilled chicken they ordered just could take time . After 40 minutes I managed to catch another waiter and asked for the food. He checked and said there was no order for the kids chicken. So our waiter had lied to us with a straight face. The manager compensated us a little with free kids food and wine. But I doubt I will be back there again.

Went with family for a celebration birthday dinner and it was delicious. We had a great time! David our waiter was extremely nice, efficient, courteous and knowledgeable. We ordered their Paella and David explained that it would take a while to make and suggested appetizers, which were delicious. My son didn't like the Paella, so he kindly offered to bring him something different. The atmosphere is very nice, we've been there for lunch and dinner now several times. I highly recommend Cafe Malaga, you simply can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Thank you for a great evening experience. Cafe Malaga keep up your great service. d

2 friends and I went there for a nice dinner and wine. It was Saturday night and very busy. The band was good and the food was awesome! Service was terrible...I don't think it was entirely the waiters fault- they were all very busy... Thinking they need to hire more help. When we said something to the waiter instead of apologizing he just said "well... We are very busy..." Kind of made us feel like take it or leave it attitude. I will go back because food is wonderful and hopefully they will have more help.

More than one friend recommended the place and I had great expectations. The server did not present us with any drinking options, we checked what another table had and asked for the same after she finally decided to give us attention. We asked for a second round of sangria and it was presented completely different than the first. The food was acceptable apart from burned chorizo. The deserts were even worse - the tiramisu was too sweet and the creme brulee was more of a tasteless cornstarch cream. The food was too expensive for what it was. The service was slow and made a lot of mistakes. The only positive was the band playing. Unfortunately not enough for us to return.

We loved magala when it opened on McKinney square. So it's been awhile since we were there. We sat outside which perhaps was our bad but the flies were impressive, not a good thing. The service was fine but gruff (the server seemed to be preoccupied with something else, scanning the other tables or parking lot while serving us.). The food was above average bar food but seemed to have faltered perhaps to serve more people. The two items that stood out as sub-par where the bacon wrapped dates which I'm pretty sure were cooked in advance - dry, overcooked, and the flavor had all melded together, like leftovers.). And the lamb pops were gamey and basically just bad. It's a good place. But for $100 for 2, i expect more
