Returning to the site of our reception for our anniversary dinner, we enjoyed the date night menu and the high class yet relaxed ambiance of Lurcat yet again. The staff demonstrates pride in their work and it is evident in the quality food, the continually filled glasses, the refolded napkins and other little touches that make this a place to go when you want to feel like your dinner is more than a meal, it's a night out.

Although the seating wasn't great (table near the kitchen and my husband had to deal with service staff constantly behind his back) the server was fantastic and the food was great. This was our first time here as we were given a gift certificate.

We ate here on 8/30. Food was great. We had sea bass and mignon. They were great. One had salmon that was quite rare and we'd rate lower. View of Loring Park. Since it was completely full when we were there it was pretty noisy.

Would recommend Cafe Lurcat to anyone looking for a fantastic dinner. The bar scene is vibrant and service is impeccable. The menu was on point, the small plates are a must try. Our dining experience at Cafe Lurcat was unparalleled. Normally on special occasions that bring my wife and I into the Twin Cities for an overnight stay, we frequent the wonderful restaurants in downtown Minneapolis. This gem is in the Loring Park area of Minneapolis, minutes from downtown but seemingly worlds away. With beautiful views of the park beyond, this restaurant offers plenty of panache with a great selection of entrees to meet any need. I had the roasted chicken; my wife had the pot roast and we shared the "legendary" french fries. Along with the bacon, lettuce, and tomato salad the whole experience was magnificent from start to finish. I recommend Cafe Lurcat for your next special occasion dinner!

My Mom was in town visiting and we decided to try going to to Cafe Lurcat for dinner with a bunch of my girl friends. The restaurant is beautiful and unique, the food was phenomenal (from the wine to the bread to the salads to the seafood entrees- AMAZING!), and our server was fantastic. Cannot say enough positive things about our wonderful, super fun night spent at Cafe Lurcat. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to meet up with friends - new or old- as another thing I appreciated about the restaurant was that the noise level was moderate and therefore I could hear what my Mom and friends were saying throughout the entire meal! Thank you for a fabulous night. We will most certainly be back, and we will truly remember this night forever!

One of our favorite spots for years, and had not visited for a bit. Service was quite slow even though the restaurant seemed fairly quiet. We were surrounded by diners in shorts, t-shirts, flip flops and Crocs- a first here. We will try again, but felt let down on this visit- the food is always good.

We had a reservation for indoors, but the evening was so beautiful, we asked about an outdoor table. The only ones they had available were on the back patio. We wove our way through the restaurant, but ended up on a very quiet, very romantic hide-away in back. What a gem!It felt like we had hopped over to Europe and were dining on a little side street somewhere in France or Italy. Our server was seasoned and made excellent recommendations. Don't miss the steak Tartare! And the warm, buttery beets were the best beets I've ever eaten. We can't wait to go back!

Date night for busy foodie parents....were not sure we would come back after a so-so appetizer (tuna tartare) and salad (bacon, lettuce, tomato). Both dishes looked great but tasted just okay. However, the main course is our new favorite anywhere! Out of this world. (7 oz beef tenderloin w mushrooms). Fries and dessert (chocolate profiteroles) were the same as the app and salad (okay, but no wow factor). Great service, ambiance, wine menu.

We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary here. We have been here several times, and the food is always delicious and it has nice ambiance. I noted in the reservation that we were celebrating. We sat in a very nice table next to the window. Our food was very good, per usual. Not sure why the server felt the need to explain the menu, as it states "starters", "entrees", "desserts" very clearly on the menu - it was a little odd. Also, no mention of our celebration or anything like that, even though we ordered champagne and mentioned that we were "celebrating". Also, server "disappeared" a couple of times, which was annoying an not okay for a restaurant of this caliber. Would go back but would hope for a different server.

This was truly disappointing. I chose to try this place over the neighborhood Ruths Chris and Capital Grille as I love sea bass and got a recommendation for Cafe Lucrat instead of my staples. Sadly, I couldn't enjoy a thing due to the longest wait for all food I have ever experienced. It was absolutely horrendous. The waiter and manager apologized, but in the end only offered free dessert, which we didn't even want. I sadly will not be recommending this place nor returning ever again. Capital Grille the next day was absolutely incredible, making me wish even more I had stuck to my guns when visiting. Next time I am in town, I will know.

After reading the reviews we expected this spot to be a flawless spot to celebrate our anniversary. Overall it was pretty good but, there were a couple of disappointments. Our main dishes of filet and sea bass were good but, one of the sides of sautéed zucchini (at $9.00!) was totally bland and boring and essentially still raw. Also the desert of triple profiterole was far too salty. Had a cocktail of passion fruit and mango that sounded great but, turned out to be just o.k. Overall, the meal didn't quite live up to the hype and high cost and the restaurant was very noisy for our liking.

As always the food at Cafe Lucrat was tasty -- but unlike previous times the staff seemed distracted, confused and not present during interactions. Even when reviewing specials and options the waiter was looking around the room and paying only partial attention to our questions. We had an initial cocktail in the bar area and it took over 20 minutes for wait staff to recognize we were there. There were several larger parties that may have added to the distraction but our experience was negatively impacted by the staff.

We had a customer meeting here and it was a great place. The service was top notch! From the Valet to Kristy our server! Food was very creative and great tasting. I had the Apple salad, which is awesome a salad with no lettuce! Sea Bass that they are known for which met very high expectations and the the cauliflower, which I have never seen served anywhere else but it was very good. Minneapolis is a downtown that is easily accessible but Cafe Lurcat has got to the easiest restaurant in Minneapolis to get in and out of.

We scoured the Minneapolis area restaurants to find one that would have the upscale metro-vibe for a 21st birthday dinner and drinks. Lurcat was a brilliant choice. The food is always great, the space and service are both excellent. It rivaled many of the places we've eaten in NYC. Lurcat also has a "Date Night" menu for $50/person on Sunday nights - a nice surprise and delicious. We highly recommend Lurcat.
