The food was good, although the waitress forgot to bring part of my order. It seemed like the big crowd they had on hand was too much for them to handle efficiently, so service was a bit slow and the aforementioned missing item that I ordered was a likely result. Most other times I've been to this restaurant the food and service was exemplary, so perhaps I caught them on a rare bad day.

As always we loved this place. We were in for a quick bite before a concert downtown and they hit all the right notes. Generous portions, well prepared, pleasant staff and reasonable prices. Our bill for 5 including a bottle of wine was a few cents under a hundred dollars. Everyone was full and there were two boxes of left overs. (Pizza and pasta).

Food was okay, not bad just rather ordinary and we have higher expectations. Service was really poor - waitress didn't seem to have any rhythm going so she was contstantly running around without getting anything done. Had to ask for things like parmesan, dessert menu, etc. Someone else finally brought our bill when we were done. All in all a kind of disappointing experience.

It was my niece’s birthday. She and I shared the Fresh grilled calamari marinated with lemon, garlic, olive oil and fresh herbs on a bed of mixed greens for $15.95 .My wife had Salmone Affumicato-smoked salmon served over seasonal greens with capers and red onions for $9.95. Our main courses my niece had Pizza Canadese with fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, mushrooms and green peppers. My wife had Chicken Saltimbocca with two Chicken breasts topped with proscuitto, pan seared with white wine cream sauce served with risotto. And I had Spaghetti Carbonara which has Spaghetti tossed in a creamy garlic and parmesan sauce with smokey bacon and I add shrimp. Everything was wonderful. Desserts were good too. Highly Recommend.

My husband's fish and calamari were excellent. My pasta was good but the shrimp were undercooked. The tomato and boccacini appetizer was fresh, but drowning in balsamic vinegar. (Less is better!) The marquise outside advertised an oyster/crab special appetizer but it was not available at 6 pm. Neither was the veal entree I had wanted. The service was friendly and efficient. I'll go again, perhaps try it for lunch.

I heard so much about Limincello and was excited to come! My very first time was disappointing; food and service was less than stellar. My friend and I ordered the pizza and pasta special. His pizza was good. Crusty and didn't fall apart despite all the freh toppings loaded on top. I ordered the string pasta with garlic olive oil sauce and fresh Mediterranean veggies. I was alright but I was expecting more! The flavor profile wasn't impressive. When I asked if I could get cheese on my garlic toast, my despondent server replied that, "we don't do that here." I was confused. She explained that pastas one with bread but if I wanted cheese toast, I'd have to order garlic toast with cheese. She didn't offer me the side and left the table.

We have been to Limoncella several times and have about tried the excellent menue items. Not the restaurants fault as it lies in the path of soot and grim from the local steel mills with the result that the brilliant yellow exteror finish and awnings are beginning to look a little less appealing. The interior, however, is first rate.

I had never been to Limoncello before, but we decided to celebrate Mother's Day and take my mom there. What a treat! With the exception of a few peeling spots on the ceiling, the decor was pleasant and comfortable. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was spot-on. My husband had the crab cakes to start and said they were absolutely delicious, and I'll admit that the Caesar starter salad I had was the best I've ever had. The pasta dishes were really tasty, and the gnocci my brother ordered was fantastic. My mom raved about the French pork loin dish she ordered. When asked if we were interested in dessert, we had to sadly decline -- none of us had any room! We'll be going back, for sure.

It was Good Friday and I wanted to take my family out for brunch. When I booked through Open Table for 8 people, my only options were 11:30 and 1pm. I chose later time. Got to the restaurant that was practically empty and was told they were not serving breakfast. A lunch omellete was the only option. Everyone else had a lunch entre and I had the omellete which wasn't very good. Lunch food was nice but not what I wanted for a holiday friday. Service was good... food not so good.

I keep going back to Limoncello because it never disappoints. Once again the staff was welcoming and attentive but did not hover. My party of three ordered very different things (great menu selections) and I found myself, fork in hand, having to sample everyone's meal because it all look so appetizing. My friend's pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce delicious. My other friend ordered a paninni and barely spoke she was so invested in this yummy sandwich and I ordered a caesar salad with roasted chicken, an indulgence to be sure but worth every calorie. I would recommend Limoncello with no hesitation.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a great dinner at this restaurant. Service was prompt and attentive. The food is fabulous! Everything was prepared fresh and cooked to perfection. The meals were flavourful and pleasing to the eye. We also been here for lunch and our experience has always been the same. The only downfall is the noise level. Ceilings are quite high and when the restaurant gets full (which is most always), it is difficult to converse. Definitely not the place to go for an intimate dinner, but don't pass up a chance to enjoy a meal.

Service friendly and efficient. The seafood ravioli special was a little short on salt and flavour but nicely presented. Was somewhat disappointed in the house salad which was a bowl of the usual uninspired mixed greens. My companion enjoyed her very-generous omeletette. Have been to this restaurant once before and thought the pasta and salad were fantastic so I hope this recent less-exciting experience was just a one-time. Will definitely try again.

I always enjoy my visits to Cafe Limoncello. Their entrées are well executed, generously portioned and reasonably priced. Although their specials have never disappointed, I have a hard time not ordering their pizza which is fantastic (and provides for ample take-out for the next day). The restaurant can be a little crowded at times but that’s to be expected considering the quality and value of the food. Good service, comfortable surroundings and excellent desserts. My only caveat would be to order your salad dressings on the side, as they sometimes use too much. This little café is well worth a visit and will most likely become a favourite.

Reasonably priced but mediocre food. Two of us spent $80 with one glass of wine and tip, no dessert. The gluten free pizza crust is nothing special and nothing like a 'real' pizza crust. The sauce for the spagetti and meatballs was tasty but the pasta was limp and the meatball just okay. This is one of two visits within the last year, neither was a memorable experience.

the service was slow and there were only 3 tables. The food was really good. We had bruschetta to start which was really good. I had the chicken parmesan ans that was really goof. the pasta was cooked perfectly and had nice flavour. We also had a pizza and the crust tasted like cardboard. There was no flavour to it and we didn't even eat much of it. The deserts are just cakes and cheese cake, which are fine if you like that. overall it was a good experience. I would go back when I feel like pasta again but don't see my self being a regular.

  • HUGE disappointment

Food was very good, unfortunately there was 3 large groups. One of them was respectful enough to try and keep the noise level at a minimum, the other 2 groups felt the need to yell at each other from their seats. There were 5 of us seated across a rectangular table and we could barely hear EACH OTHER. I'd personally been to Limoncello and was eager to 'show it off' to my colleagues, but the whole night was a huge disappointment. My colleague said the staff member looked exasperated when she arrived (even though WE made reservations) and said many were "walk-ins". The large groups were all served ahead of us, resulting in 1 needing to reorder because they ran out of that item. In hindsite, we should have left immediately when we arrived.
