I made an appointment for 8:15pm but when we got to the restaurant, they were closed. Luckily I live close by, but my boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed as this was the second time in one week we tried to go here for dinner.

Was visiting the New Brunswick area and wanted to dine at an independent restaurant and wanted a Latin flair. Casa la terrassa was perfect! The food was excellent, the portions generous and the price was reasonable. The service was also very good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Three of us shared a dinner of tapas and appetizers, and all the dishes were quite good. The avocado bruschetta and tuna seviche were outstanding. Quite inexpensive and BYOB. Not very busy for a Saturday night, but the location outside the downtown eatery area may be the reason.

  • The outside of the restaurant

The outside of the restaurant is nothing to speak of... I don't believe they even have a sign. The service, however, is EXCELLENT. We left thinking that our waiter owned the place! The food was very good too. There were only two other patrons at the restaurant, and my guess is that they would fair much better if they had proper signage. Would definitely go there again.

Best skirt steak I've had in a restaurant. And the flan was also best I've had. Service was very accommodating. Looking forward to going back.

All of the dishes that we tried were very good. Especially the Calamari, the short ribs and the pork tapas. The empanada and the guacomole brushetta were very good but we would not order those dishes again. We had one main dish the skirt steak. It was very tasty. The staff is very friendly and accomidating. Our waiter Sal was constantly refilling our water glasses. If you bring wine, he will make a very good sangria for you. The kitchen was a little slow. So I would not go and expect to get a quick meal and rush out. We will definitely return and try some of the other dishes.

We decided to go there in a group and try it out because we like latin food and an added plus was that is it BYOB. We had a great experience, the food was great and the owners very hands on. came over to talk to us and very accomodating to anything we needed. Definitely will go back.

My girlfriend and I went because it had amazing reviews on Yelp - the reviews were far from representative of our experience there. We arrived to an empty restaurant at 830PM. The host was also our server, and service was extremely slow. We had a feeling that they did not want us there and we even saw our waiter (the host) sneak away to go to a house across the street while we ate our food. They should change their name to Cafe De Sal because all of their food was so salty. We ordered chorizo for appetizers, and for entrees my girlfriend ordered steak and I got chicken and rice. My girlfriend asked for her steak medium-well, and the steak (thin cut) came out RARE - it was inedible. Perhaps this place is better during lunch?

  • Great tapas, not so great service

I went there with two other people on a Saturday night at 8:30, and we had a reservation. We did have to wait a few minutes while they brought a table into the room and set it for us. A litttle weird, but not a huge deal. We enjoyed several tapas dishes, which were excellent. We particularly enjoyed the empanadas - we had both the chicken and the vegetable. The garlic chorizo was great, but the garlic shrimp didn't have much flavor. There was a young crowd there, and it was lively. The issue we had was the service, which was not great. They were woefully understaffed. They were apologetic, and gave us several free desserts , which we appreciated. I would go back and give them another shot.

My boyfriend and I tried this place on a Friday night. We had reservations at 6:45, but we didn't need them. We ordered 4 tapas and an appetizer. The portions are huge and the food was delicious. We had the guacamole, steak kabobs, garlic shrimp, chicken empanadas and this shredded chicken on a tortilla. All were fantastic. It was also very reasonable. We definitely recommend this place!

The food was outstanding. Looked great on the menu, and equally so when served The service leaves much to be desired though. The restaurant was not full, perhaps they were understaffed We were greeted and seated promptly. Appetizers came quickly. From there the service went down hill. Took nearly 45 mins from the finish of the appetizer for the main course to come. Had to flag down the serve for dessert and coffee and again for the bill, Which came out without being charged for the coffee and dessert Had to flag down the person who brought the check to point out the omission, who said it was correct, that they were told to leave it off Later they came back and said that the omission was an error and they needed to rework th

Everything was fantastic! Jackie and Jessica made us feel extremely welcome and were very gracious hosts. The fried calamari with chipotle aioli was wonderful as were the garlic shrimp. The skirt stake with garlic mashed potatoes were perfect and the flounder stuffed with shrimp and scallops were a real treat. We will definitely be going back!!!
