Great food. Quaint little restaurant. Very quiet given it's on a quiet street and doesn't get any foot traffic, and its not well marked, but those that wander in will be rewarded. Food was delightful.

This is a beautiful space that was completely empty except for one other table of 3. Granted, it was early (6:00) but I did not see anyone else come in by the time we left. The appetizer was seared tuna with avecados. The tuna was over cooked and tough. I had weinerschnitzel which was OK but it needed a healthy dose of salt to bring out any life. Our server/bartender was very attentive and very knowledgeable about ther menu and ingredients, etc. She was the only saving grace but Natasha alone is not enough for me to recommend Cafe Kristall to anyone. Especially in an area where there are so many great choices.

I just found that much of the staff left this place. A very friendly, helpful new waitress served me but the food is hardly what it was the last time I came here, maybe 6 weeks ago. The drink was too sweet. The goulash soup not as flavorful as I remember it. The scallops were rubbery and cold inside. I used to come here almost weekly since it opened but will not be returning at this rate.

It's been a while since I enjoyed a "new" style of cuisine. The avocado/tuna starter is a must. Entree (veal) was great, although a bit heavy (but I knew it when I ordered it). Wine list a bit pricy but overall a great experience with a friendly service.

I came here with a girlfriend for my birthday and it was a pleasant surprise. The ambiance was classy with a touch of glamour. The service was impeccable. I ordered the 3 course lunch prix-fixe menu. The menu that day was the beet salad, the chicken two ways and the Kristall torte. I loved all the courses. The beet salad was a bit tart and sweet and just enough to get the palate salivating for more. The chicken was cooked beautifully, thorough but not dry. It was further enhanced by the olives in the sauce. The Kristall torte was divine. I loved the surprise filling of the raspberry gelee in the middle. It was not too sweet and had the right amount of texture. This is definitely a place I'd keep coming back again and again!

This was our first time eating at Kristall and the service and food quality and presentation was top notch. Something seemed to be a little off with the set up and design of the restaurant. It felt more like a place to have coffee and cake in the afternoon rather than a dinner place.

Had a great brunch here but there's a lot that could use a bit of improvement. A - There really should be a brunch menu outside as I noticed a lot of people looking at the selections and prices of their regular menu and probably didn't know they could get eggs at 12:30 in the afternoon. Decor is nice, service was actually too attentive (I was on a date), and our scrambled eggs with bacon and mixed green ($12) were pretty good. Though the bacon could have been degreased before plating. Prices were... off though. Getting a $12 brunch plate is great, but for a $5 coffee is odd. Perhaps they should just make it $17 and also give us some bread.

Food and their service was great as usual! They had brunch menu, but we had 3-course menu at $25 (dinner is $35). I had "chilled smoked trout crepe", NY strip steak" and "apple strudel". I love all of the dishes, especially crepe was amazing. This restaurant serves much much better and yummy dishes than some popular places such as Mercer Kitchen or David Burke. I would definitely come back there soon :)

Having only reopened the day before after Hurricane Sandy, the restaurant was extremely quiet and they didn't seem to have their kitchen fully restocked yet as there were a couple of items on the menu that were not available. However, the food I did have was delicious and the staff was very pleasant and professional. In addition, the prix fixe price of $35 for a three-course meal couldn't be beat!! Would definitely recommend as a "find" in SoHo!

Wow! What a lovely little spot. We enjoyed their three course prix fixe for $30 which included everything on their menu. We both opted for the wiener schnitzel as entrees, perfection. My husband loved his goulash soup and I had the beet salad, attractively served and also excellent. The apple strudel for dessert couldn't have been better. Delicious wines by the glass. Since this is new to our neighborhood, the best part is we can easily return.

Cafe Kristall's $23 lunch pre-fixe is definitely a bargain, especially in SoHo! I started with the squash soup for my appetizer. Although it was good, I was looking forward to trying the chilled corn soup (which was highly recommended by a friend) but I was told they no longer had it. Maybe it was a seasonal item? Next for my entree, I had the hanger steak, which to my surprise, came with a bowl of delicious mashed potatoes (not stated on the menu). The steak was flavorful and the potatoes were so buttery and fluffy. The portions were also just right for me. I ended my meal with the kristalltorte, a cake made with strawberry and champagne mousse. Overall, I loved the feel of the restaurant - very cozy and elegant. I will definitely be back!

The Spaetzle made with guark and served with shrimp is delightful. Very light and flavorful, while keeping true to its Austrian roots. Central European wines compliment all food choices and traditional kaffees pair nicely with desserts like Sachertorte or apple strudel. Great price for such high quality Austrian cuisine. It's a little empty and dark for dinner so keep that in mind if you want a livelier scene.

Excellent Austrian food; the best that we have had in NYC. The food was amazing. The perfect blend of traditional and modern Austrian fare. While the concept of the restaurant being in the back of the Swarovski store in SoHo sounds strange, it actually works well. The design is like a modern Viennese cafe (with newspaper stand and all). The service was excellent: Ben was extrememly attentive and proactive without being pushy. We will definitely go back. They also have great coffee, Viennese sandwiches, and desserts, and would be a great place to hang out while one's wife/partner is shopping in SoHo.
