Getting there

  • Cross Street: Blanco
  • Parking: Private Lot
  • Parking Details: Cafe Josie is a part of "Pecan Square", so anywhere there are signs that designate Pecan Square is ok to park. More specifically, there is a parking lot at the corner of 6th and Blanco in front of Portabla and next to The Wally Workman Gallery that is part of our parking. Also, if you take a right on Blanco Street and then a left in the first alley, you will find a parking lot behind Cafe Josie. If both of these spots are full then we recommend parking along Blanco Street.
A word from Cafe Josie
Cafe Josie features a unique style of cooking that draws on ingredients from natures "Equatorial Pantry". This narrow band of the world situated 25 degrees North and 10 degrees South of the Equator includes the Asian Tropics, the Mediterranean, areas of North Africa, the Middle East, and the American Tropics. Cafe Josie's cuisine features island-style grilling of fresh seafood, quality beef, pork, and poultry which is marinated and basted with roasted fiery chiles, tropical fruits, slow simmered sauces, and homemade dressings. Presentations are bright, fresh, and vibrant; flavors are intoxicating and seductive.

Well-known gourmet chef Charles Mayes has been able to capture Austin's current demand for the complete dining experience. Named after his daughter Josie, Chef Mayes has been creating at Cafe Josie since 1997. The cafe is located in an old carriage house that was restored in the '60s into a restaurant space featuring antique doors and original brick floors.
