"Cafe Italia is one of the best places in the northland and definitely ranks as one of the best Italian places in the Kansas City area. Great menu and the service is helpful. Feels very much like family when you're there."

"Very good food. We arrived a little early 5pm and there were plenty of tables open. Not sure that was a good sign at first. Found the inside plain. I was expecting some type of Italian theme rather than just some booths and tables with a lot of space open in the middle. Not very romantic. The music was a little odd. I don't speak Italian, but have been around the world and I am quite certain the guy playing guitar was singing in Spanish. Not very Italian. Get some real wine glasses, not cheap bulk purchase glasses.
The food on the other hand was very good and fast. Maybe a little too fast since we were not in a hurry. The portions were very large, sufficient for 2 adults to share a plate of spaghetti and meatballs."

"I went to this establishment on Valentines day and my date was greeted with a rose made from Italian bread, very classy. The ambiance was romantic and the service was able without being overbearing. The food was okay, I ordered the chicken Parmesan and found the sauce to be lacking and tasting rather bland. Other than the red sauce, which I would avoid, it was a nice time."

"I have been out of the area for 12 years and remember this restaurant when it was near Metro North. I was so excited to try it when I discovered they had opened in Parkville. It was even better than I remembered!!!"

"Table was not ready due to walk-ins given precedence. Hostess had no clue to what was going on and seemed very nervous. Overall experience was below average and we won't be going back. Food was sub-par. On the plus side, our waitress was wonderful and does her job very well."

"We had a good time here on Valentines Day. We were sat a little close to a wall by the kitchen but it was busy that night. The food was hot and fresh. I agree with a previous post about the alfredo sauce, a little bland and over cooked. It had a bit of a flour taste. The Chicken Spiedini I had was a little salty but not bad enough to send back. We still wanted the leftovers. Tiramisu was OK, small portion for two. The service was great and the martinis were great. We will be going again."

"We used to go to Cafe Italia when it was off N. Oak and Barry Road. So glad it's back now in a new location. The food is fantastic with a full but not overwhelming menu. Very romantic and has a lot of great charm. If you even remotely love good Italian food this is the place for you."
