It offers excellent Italian cuisine in an intimate, quiet setting. We found the servers friendly and personable. The food was uniformly well executed and nicely presented. If we lived in Vancouver this would definitely be one of our "go to" places for quiet enjoyable lunches and dinners. My guess is that it is also an excellent place to entertain business clients as it is quiet and private enough that you can actually have conversation/discussions. We've been to Il Nido before but it's a bit far from where we live so haven't been back for awhile. The food is exceptional, cooked to perfection. There isn't as much fanciness in presentation but we're just here for good food. The restaurant was very quiet when we were there, probably because it was a weekday and we had an earlier dinner than usual crowds. The decor is welcoming and classy in the dining room and feels private enough for a special gathering without having to shout to be heard. The prices for food are entirely reasonable, the wine seems a bit pricier than other places. There was only 3 tables for 2, including ours that had customers, And it was a rather busy night on the downtown scene.
We ordered a bottle of wine with our dinner. After the first pouring of the vintage, the waiter elected to place the bottle on a window sill behind our table.
