I really enjoyed the patio dining, and the food was delicious. I was most impressed later when I needed a copy of the receipt (which I had lost). Brian asked me questions about what I had eaten and was able to locate a copy for me. Very, very kind. I'm not much for the vegan/raw food movement but I'll try it every now and then. Had the "I am Awesome" (eggplant parmesan with nut cheeses) and really enjoyed it. I don't think I would've known they didn't use real cheese if it was listed on the menu. The staff is friendly, the crowd is young and smart and the food is delicious. Not sure how often I'd return just because the food is not my scene, but it's nice to have this place on the roster and I always enjoy a new food experience. Thankfully, we'd reserved a table because the cafe was really bustling & busy. Over server seemed a bit overwhelmed and we waited quite awhile to order and for our food. My friend who recommended Cafe Gratitude told me that on each of her visits there her server gave their table a topic to discuss (for example "What is love?") We didn't get the topic of the day which would havd been fun. Despite this, I'd still go back. I loved the "What are you grateful for?" inscription on the plates & bowls and was inspired by all the life affirming menu item names.The food was flavorful & filling. Am so pleased with the outcome. Everyone enjoyed their meals immensely and the desserts even more so. Order the "I am Warmhearted" for a wonderful bowl of polenta smothered with velvety mushrooms, spinach and cashew cream. Comfort food with a twist! The vegetarian offerings are as good for the body as the tastes are for tongue, yet what stays with one long after mere corporeal digestion is the enspiriting epistemology of empowerment. The vibe is down-home and welcoming; the service impeccable, the food is absolutely some of the tastiest anywhere... and it's all VEGAN!
