Diner Reviews
  • "What a charming place with absolutely delightful food. We had a great experience and wouldn't hesitate to come back. I had the herb encrusted trout which was done very delicately and had an abundance of flavor. The pig candy is a must try."

  • "My friends all loved their meals and appetizers, and when one meal was late the restaurant apologized and removed it from the bill. The only downside for this otherwise great, trendy neighborhood eatery was that the boar papardelle was a bit bland."

  • "Although food and service were good, we unfortunately were seated next to a large table of unruly and noisy kids. Their parents, who were seated at the end of the table, didn't seem to mind, but we were trying to carry on conversation and found ourselves having to yell! So perhaps I should consider this a kid friendly place, although I would have taken my kids to a much more casual place, and earlier in the evening (we had a 7:15 reservation)."

  • "Located just off the square in Jackson, Cafe G has good food, service, and a quaint setting in a historical house and patio. Very enjoyable!"

  • "Great Food! Great Service! If you are visiting Jackson, Wyoming, Cafe Genevieve is a must. We actually ate there twice during our recent visit to Jackson, Wyoming. We enjoyed it so much we went back a second time for dinner. The food is outstanding. You could order anything on the menu and you would not be disappointed. Try the Mac and Cheese!"

  • "Traveling through Jackson for the first time, from Yellowstone back to Santa Fe. With our dog Andy. We wanted to "see" Jackson, and eat a special lunch. Before arriving in Jackson, I read Cafe Genevieve was rated highly and pet friendly. Made the reservation from my phone, drove straight to it, and had a fabulous lunch/brunch. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Andy was presented with a bowl of water. Great local IPA. And how can you go wrong with fried chicken and waffles? Would be "our" place if we were Jacksonites!"

  • "Really enjoyed the food. Everything was cooked to perfection. Only complaint would be we were put in a corner right by the hostess table at the front door and it was drafty. Also, there was a really loud bluegrass band playing. When making reservations maybe just specify that you don't want to be by the front door and if it's one of the nights where the band is playing request to be put in a different room if you have an aversion to noise while eating."

  • "Staff was pleasant but service was hurried...ordered the Pig Candy (appetizer) but in no time were served entrees ... hardly had started sipping wine...when mentioned, didn't offer to take the appetizer off but just brought it (and charged for it anyway) Trout was dry ... looked like salmon Strip steak cooked medium but tough and though asked to have accompaning "salad" substituted w/potatoes brought salad. Waitress didn't know that the German Chocolate Cake had nuts (allergy)"

  • "We found this restaurant based on reviews online. My husband and I came with another couple and we all had wonderful meals. The service and waiter were very good, attentive and friendly. Food was amazing as we all got venison, which was the special for the evening. Could not have enjoyed our evening more. Would highly recommend. Great drinks and desert as well. All home made and delicious."

  • "We had the Barley Risotto and Salmon dishes. Each was prepared perfectly. I like my Salmon rare inside and that is just the way it was served. The staff was attentive and left nothing to chance. I wish this place was back east."

  • "We went there for breakfast after several recommendations from Jackson locals; it was everything they said and more. The huevos with green chile were awesome, as was the hash and the cajun gravy for my wife's biscuits and gravy. We wish we had more time in Jackson to try the whole menu, great place!"

  • "We went to Cafe Genevieve to try the infamous Pig Candy. We were a little disappointed in the prices for the entrees. They were higher than we were looking for just a casual night out at a local Jackson eatery. We ordered a great burger that was one of the lower priced items and passed up some unusual entrees that were over our budget. Imagine our surprise when we found out that it was a "buy one get one free" special night and that our waiter hadn't bothered to tell us that when we ordered. We would have loved to try more than a burger at such a great deal. It wasn't advertised anywhere or posted online as a special. The service was good, the restaurant was clean and the decor was perfect for the small size of the dining area. "

  • "My husband and I had Mother's Day brunch. The building is historic and cozy. One drawback there is only one restroom for everyone. The service was great and the food was fantastic! My hubby had the brioche french toast and bacon and I had the eggs Benedict, which comes with breakfast potatoes. We shared a bowl of fruit, which consisted of strawberries and sweet blueberries. Delicious! We will definitely go back next time in Jackson!"

  • "My favorite place to dine in JH. Consistently excellent, interesting menu, wonderful brunch options (the fried green tomato Eggs Benedict is my favorite), friendly (and unobtrusive) service, and welcoming to my dog."

  • "My significant other and I had a wonderful dinner here. Both our meals were excellent, A nice three piece acoustic bluegrass-folk band played also."

  • "This was our second time there. The food was still very good. However, our experience was ruined by a large party next to us who stood and mingled as if in a private home. They almost knocked over our drinks they were standing so close. We asked our waiter to ask them to sit down, he said he wished he could. So then we asked to speak to the manager. The manager never appeared and we basically never saw our waiter again. When we finally saw a manager, she didn't seem to care and said it gets loud when the band plays. However, the band was on a break. All I can say is, there are lots of other great restaurants in Jackson."

  • "Everything was great, but that bacon candy appetizer was so good we are bringing a box home. Loved my trout and the fried chicken that was dipped in waffle batter. Other people in our party were very happy with the wine list. We were there on a Wednesday night and the 4 guys playing music in the bar were as good as it gets. We actually stayed after dinner to have a drink and hear them play. Loved the mandolin player. Would love to go back for breakfast and lunch."

  • "Charming historic building in great location just off Jackson Town Square. We were welcomed and seated promptly and the menu explained carefully.the staff were very helpful The pig candy was crisp but slightly sweet for our European palates but very flavoursome . Home made tomato soup and bread were delicious Fried chicken was nicely seasoned and cooked but the accompanying macaroni cheese we found an odd choice for the chicken and was slightly plastic in texture The scallops and Brussels were again a slightly odd combination ( although sliced crisped Brussels seem to be the 'in' vegetable at the moment) with the Brussels having a lemony undertone We had a nice Morgan Metallica Chardonnay and the whole bill came to around $120"

  • "We ate hear last July 4th and back this February. There are a lot on very good restaurants to choose from in Jackson Hole but none with as much unique flare as Cafe Genevieve. Our dinner was excellent, service was great. On our next trip to Jackson we will definitely be back."

  • "We were really full from lunch at Couloir restaurant, however we still wanted to try Café Genevieve. We had the chicken liver toast and pork belly lettuce wraps as appetizers and they were delicious. We shared the diver scallops and that was really good also. The service was fantastic, they knew that we were sharing the entrée so they split up the dish for us. I would definitely recommend this to others and go back again."

  • "We dined at Cafe Genievive on New Years Eve, and they offered a full menu, no fixed price option, which was great. The arugula and pig candy salad were superb and the sweet potatoe stuffed pasta was the best dish I have had in years. I travel and dine out frequently, and the food, service and overall experience were second to none. Do not miss this place... I will definitely go back the next time I am in Jackson."

  • "Café Genevieve is just off the square in Jackson, not the busiest area of town, but it is just FABULOUS. Great comfort food, great brunch/lunch. Loved the mac and cheese. Salmon Benedict was great as well. Clearly a local favorite. Wish we had found this earlier in our visit so we could have tried dinner as well!"

  • "Our party of four totally enjoyed several of the absolutely wonderful salads and of course the Pig Candy appetizer, then on to superb scallops!!! We went away totally satisfied, but a tad poorer as the tab for four of us with salads, entrees, two shared deserts and a single glass of wine for three, plus a 20"% tip came to $75/pp. Granted the scallops were $33/pp and are there are several tempting entrees under that price. Anyway, the tab is fairly typical of what one now pays at the dozen or so good downtown Jackson restaurants or for that matter in any resort area. In other words very nice, and pretty expensive. Maybe not for a family on a budget, but great for a birthday or anniversary!"

  • "We were seated promptly and all during the meal the service was good. The food was not bad but at best mediocre. We did not order anything exciting, just trout and fried chicken but both were over cooked and bland. My conclusion is this is just another average Jackson tourist restaurant. We won't be back."
