"I eat here regularly and delight in taking friends who have never been. The guacamole is the best in NYC - not too spicy yet flavorful, the right amount of cilantro ,tomato etc(I get the medium). The place is lively yet you can hear your companion's conversation. That is a big plus. The servers are all helpful and friendly. I can't wait for weather warm enough to sit in the garden out back,"

"Food was terrific, but service was awful. Had to wait almost 30 minutes for a table. We ordered quickly, but the food took a while to arrive. Also, our waitress confirmed that a certain dish (that took up a lot of room) would arrive between the starters and our main course. The dish arrived and literally 1 minute later our main course arrived. We said we weren't ready for the dish, and the waitress came back literally 1 additional minute later. We again said we weren't ready. They took it away and the manager came over on his own accord to make sure everything was ok. He said he totally understood, but did not help fix the problem. And nothing was comped or anything like that to apologize."

"I always enjoy a meal at Frida's, and I particularly enjoy their spot at Amsterdam & 97th, which isn't nearly as noisy as their spot near the Museum of Natural History. We had the salsa sampler, which is fun because there are so many choices. My friend had lamb tacos; I had enchiladas mole with vegetables rather than rice or beans. (I loved my vegetables.) Everything was delicious, everything interesting."

"We love Frida! We moved on the next block over and it's our go-to place when we can't decide what to eat for dinner, when we have friends in town, when we want delicious mexican...the list goes on. Not to mention they have the best little back patio during the warm months."

"Cafe Frida - Amsterdam - is amazing. The food & service were spectacular. I made a reservation, and the table wasn't ready exactly when I arrived - which was fine, we didn't wait long. However, the restaurant gave us complimentary guacamole. A class act! A great, great meal!"

"The food and ambiance were nice for a locale spot, but overall, the menu was restrictive -- it noted several times that no substitutions of any kind were available, and while the service was okay, happy hour didn't extend to tables nor did they even provide free chips. It also was not particularly inexpensive in light of the mediocore food and service."
