Diner Reviews
  • "This was an absolutely fabulous brunch. They had any and every kind of food you could ask for. The seafood was very fresh and the desserts were out of this world. The service was quite slow and it was hard to get any refills on drinks. The food was by far worth the $60 and overall it was great."

  • "We wanted to experience the chocolate bar last year but we missed it. we are so grateful we made it this year, because it was decadent, delightful, we felt pampered, and we will be back!!"

  • "Cafe Fleuri's chocolate bar is a party. With a DJ mixing happy pop in the background, a large chocolate fountain, and people milling around a dozen tables of beautifully presented candy and desserts, it's hard not to smile! Perfect place for a polite and yet lively crew to enjoy yummy treats together. Fun for kids!"

  • "Café Fleuri is very convenient for business breakfasts and lunches in the financial district, good food, friendly staff who remember your name! Winda and Lee are great!"

  • "The Chocolate Bar was every kid's dream -- all the desserts you can eat. But for grownups, or anyone who knows and loves good chocolate, it was a disappointment. The goodies all looked much better than they tasted."

  • "In all, it could have been a lovely brunch if not for the clubbing-type of music/DJ we had to endure. The volume and mood of the music was so discordant with the otherwise decadent, luxurious experience, it fairly well ruined the fun."

  • "When we made the reservation, we noted that someone in our party had a specific food allergy. When we were greeted, the hostess acknowledged our food allergy and then after being seated our waiter also assured us that he was aware. The chef then took us for a tour through the Brunch buffet making us aware of safe and unsafe dishes. For our child with a food allergy, this special acknowledgment and care makes her feel comfortable and respected."

  • "In town for business, it was a convenient place to convene and grab a bite to eat. But I wouldn't seek it out otherwise. Food wasn't bad, but nothing special, and quite overpriced. Service was decent, but the decor looks like a Best Western breakfast room, not up to par with the rest of the hotel."

  • "I love to be able to try different things for brunch. The oysters were almost perfect. If you love seafood and you love breakfast, this is the place to go! Parking was a little hard, I ended up paying for parking - $15 flat. Overall, everybody enjoyed themselves. Be prepare for a long leisurely brunch."

  • "Spectacular Sunday brunch. Food was incredible. Service outstanding: my nephew has a nut allergy. The chef came out from the kitchen and personally walked him around the dining room to identify which foods he should avoid. Go hungry. We had no room for dessert."

  • "I've been to the Chocolate Bar at Cfe Fleuri many times, though it had been at least 4 years since my last visit. The quality and selection of goodies were great, just as good as I remembered. My only complaint would be the DJ that accompanied the experience. While I like Drake and Rhianna as much as the next person, it just seemed out of place for 11:00 AM on a Saturday. I would have much preferred 'classier' music to match the setting, like some good 'ol Sinatra."

  • "my favorite upscale Boston lunch spot because of food quality, but not this time. spotty service, stale sandwich bread and a soggy pickle. little things, but not up to their usual standards."

  • "My salad was $24 and some of the lettuce was brown. It also was supposed to come with Jumbo Gulf Shrimp and the Shrimp was just regular size. I was pretty disappointed!"

  • "Enjoyed the experience, seafood and sushi fresh and refills available most enjoyable, would have liked to have tried the roast beef however this was finished at 2pm not good enough as we only came to the buffet at 1.30pm."

  • "We went for Sunday Brunch and at first it seemed a bit pricey but, trust me, it is well worth it. Everything we put in our mouths was wonderful. We had to tackle the food strategically because there is so much to try and not enough stomach room. So walk around for a little while and have a plan..."

  • "The chocolate brunch is great if you love dessert and want to give your kids a real treat. The servers don't rush you so you can linger over coffee or tea There is a good variety and the staff quickly replenishes items. It is great for groups or to celebrate a special occasion."

  • "I took my niece to the chocolate bar for her 12th birthday. She and I were both in heaven. The dj playing music totally added to the festive atmosphere of the buffet. More choices than we could eat! I can't believe this is th 25 th year and I never got there till this year! Fun and delicious in an elegant and not stuffy way!"

  • "I have been to the Chocolate Bar many, many times over the years. The food is amazing, creative, well-presented, and delicious. The ambiance is lovely (for the most part) and the service attentive and pleasant. The only negative is the extremely loud music added several years ago - it is annoying, makes conversation difficult, and detracts from the experience."

  • "What once used to be an elegant brunch has descended to a tourist trap type of atmosphere. First I will say the food is OK, but perhaps not at the price charged. The dress is everything from jackets and ties to t shirts.Reminds me of when the "amateur" diners are out on Valentines day. The service was pathetic. I never did figure out who our waiter was supposed to be. Eventually we just had to snag any passing wait person to get service. While I am sure this a tremendous money maker for Cafe Fleuri, for those looking for a wonderful $200 brunch experience, I would look elsewhere."

  • "Cafe Fleuri has an amazing spread ranging from sushi to roasted potatoes and lobster macaroni and cheese! There was a chocolate fountain that looked awesome and smelled totally amazing! The items they had laid out for dipping went from huge strawberries to rice crispy treats!!! We had Nelson as a server and he was very good - Mirsada also helped out with service and she was fantastic!!! One thing my group found puzzling was the omelet station - only one chef working with three going at once - and the queue for omelets was rather long! One of the four orders in my group was incorrect resulting in needing to start over again – I don’t blame the chef but the lack of staffing. I would and plan to go back -"

  • "I selected to go on a Saturday for the Chocolate Bar...and know this...I am NOT a chocolate fan, but I had to have this experience! And am I glad that I did...and for my birthday! Super special!! A true Willy Wonka-kinda brunch! It was worth my time, energy, and $. It's a must do in Boston for sure! (P.S. I said the noise level is energetic...they have a DJ playing appropriate upbeat music while you just sit back and enjoy all the chocolate you can stand!!)"

  • "Cafe Fleuri is expensive for the average person, but it is an excellent choice for a special occasion brunch. It is buffet style, but this restaurant has a dazzling choice. Mimosas or Bloody Mary's are included in the price. The waiters only bring water and coffee. That part of the restaurant could be improved as you sometimes have to wait for coffee refills while you are eating. However, the wide range of delicious food presented makes this an excellent choice for a special brunch."

  • "My husband and I went to brunch here and I couldn't believe the food selection. Everything was delicious!! I didn't have any drinks. But they looked good. The only con was the drink prices. I think 11/cocktail. For 60 per person maybe mimosas should be included? I might return for the food selection. But after I have my baby and I'm looking for a drink ill probably find a place where at least mimosas are included."

  • "I came here for a special brunch with my boyfriend the Sunday after Valentines Day. For the last two years we had been to the Saturday Chocolate buffet but since my boyfriend loves brunch food I decided to treat him. The quality of the food was amazing, always warm and replaced within seconds once a dish that run out. There was a HUGE variety of food including an enormous chest full of shrimp, oysters, and crab legs. Everyone seemed to be in good spirits and the atmosphere was both relaxed and lively. My boyfriend and I had a great time go back and forth from table to buffet and trying everything. The crepes are to die for! We will definitely be back again next year! The brunch is pricey at $60 but WELL worth it!"

  • "We went to what we thought was the last Holiday Chocolate Buffet of the season- the brochure promised Holiday specialties and music. However when we arrived it was just the standard Chocolate Buffet, still sensational, but not what we expected. Instead of Holiday classics, there was the standard DJ pumping out far too loud hip hop that would have been better suited for an evening event in the bar. For such a wonderfully presented spread in such a gorgeous setting, the DJ seems very out of place, and should be replaced by a jazz band or piano, as they have in the tea salon. I don't feel this is an event that I could bring my grandmother to, as I can barely hear myself think over the music."

  • "Clearly this was the best brunch spread I have ever seen. The sushi and the shellfish stations were amazing. I could not believe that Serrano ham was also included in the brunch. I am crazy about that. My husband raved about the the waffles. The desserts and especially the chocolate bread pudding was sinfully delicious. Everybody loved their food. All very quality and well prepared. Kudos to Cafe Fleuri!!"

  • "I enjoyed myself too much at the Saturday Chocolate Bar. Exceptional treats. Even though children were present, it was definitely a treat for adults too. Great place for a party, get together, or just solo like I was. The music was loud enough to enjoy but you could still have a conversation. I, now, want to check out Sundays for their Brunch!"

  • "We took our daughter here for her 11th birthday along with 6 of her friends. We had been before, just as a family, and thought the buffet was wonderful. The restaurant was very accommodating with our group. They put all the kids at one table and my husband and I had a table, next to them!! It was perfect. At $29 per child it is definitely a treat. The kids took full advantage of the chocolate fondue, the cotton candy, pastries, crepes and more. If you cannot handle the chocolate buffet, you can order off the menu (as I did) We love the sophisticated room. They seem to put parties in one area and smaller groups in another. If I go back with a girlfriend I will be happy to seat away from a party. Don't overlook the three hot chocolates!"

  • "The Chocolate Bar at The Cafe' Fleuri was wonderful fun! I had a girl's birthday lunch out with my three cousins and we had a blast! The open atrium dining room was very pretty and the DJ played happy music while we feasted on anything and everything chocolate. The delectable buffet featured an excellent variety of sweet treats, beautifully presented and just as tasty as they looked. I would love to go back again."

  • "Tables upon tables of decadent desserts with additional surprises: Cold Stone Creamery, dill able chocolate fountain, cotton candy. Large variety of clientele: bridal shower, old ladies lunch, families, teen boppers. Unfortunately a DJ playing music too loud from speakers blast away any feeling of sophistication from the experience. It made me feel like I was at a high school dance rather than treating my sister to a special birthday celebration."

  • "This was a great distraction. Fabulous variety of Chocolate recipes. The Dark Chocolate Soup was incredible. The staff definitely knows what they're doing because you could take a break from the chocolate with plates of salty nuts and potato chips. Just a great treat."

  • "We had a great time celebrating my birthday, fabulous and beautiful chocolate and non-chocolate delicacies arranged in mouthwatering displays. There were even vegan options, and everything was carefully labeled for nut-safety. There was a DJ playing top 10 pop hits, which the teen and tween girls loved. Definitely more of a girl than a guy scene, but the few men and boys who were there were clearly having a good time, too. A fabulous and decadent way to celebrate a very special occasion."
