  • "My seat was in a congested area as the computer was located behind me. After waiters bumped into me numerous times, I asked to change my seat. Since there didn't appear to be open seats and we had a time problem, having to be seated at the Opera by 8:00 pm, after arriving before 6:15 pm my wife took my seat and sat as close to the table as possible to avoid some of the bumps. We ordered our meal very quickly and thought that we would have plenty of time to eat. However, despite many requests the main course didn't come for more than one hour. We immediately requested a bill and left without ordering dessert or coffee. We were not given a discount for these inconveniences. It was a pre theater crowd and the noise level was unacceptable."

  • "Awe full experience. Arrived at 6:30 pm for a 8:00 pm event at Lincoln center. Waited till 7:40 and left for the event without eating. Will never go back again"

  • "Good after theater spot for a late meal. Very good antipasto selection and nice flat crust pizza. Wait staff acted like they didn't need our business. Gave us a cramped table next to the order station when they didn't really have to. Waiter very condescending. Will not be going back to this place."

  • "Great food and service. Across the street from the opera."

  • "The location accross from Lincoln Center is ver convenient. The food is excellent and the service efficient and friendly. Dining in close quarters with an exceptionally high noise level is typically New York, but, not the most relaxing."

  • "Reservation was honored without any waiting. Seating was comfortable with sufficient distance from next table. Menu was extensive with many choices in seafoods and meats. Antipasto was an added plus."

  • "Whenever I do go, I remember what a really terrific restaurant it is. The food is delicious and varied, the wait staff is nearly uniformly adorable, and the clientele is varied: beautiful people, movers and shakers, old friends getting together, multi-generational family groups, and, my favorite to see, little girls going to the ballet with their mothers or grandmothers. And the staff is equally nice to everyone. No, not the very best food in the city, but always something you want to eat and almost always good to eat. It's a happy place, although I do try to avoid going during their hectic pre-performance hours."

  • "Upon entering Cafe Fiorello about 5:45pm, we were warmly greeted and ask if we would like a quiet table? We were then escorted to a corner table, away from the hustle-bustle of an already busy bar. Our waitress was very prompt and after ordering wine, she was very helpful in making menu selections. Since we were both "wheat free" we had a few questions. She was knowledgable, personable and checked on our progress throughout the meal. Since we were on a deadline to get to the metropolitan Opera, our check was presented and processed quickly. The food was delicious and the ambiance quite nice. A bit pricey, but a very enjoyable experience."

  • "Cafe Fiorello is ALWAYS good. This night all of us had colds but we had tickets at Lincoln Center so we had to go. We weren't overly hungry and wanted comfort food. Fiorello's soups are fabulous; the Italian wedding soup was a meal in itself. And great for what ailed us. Two at the table shared the special lasagna. That is always fun. And great for sharing. The service was so great; we felt much better after our dinner than when we first came in--good food and good times are the best medicine!"

  • "Caught it on a quiet mid-week evening when apparently there were no performances at Lincoln Center and had an especially charming and entertaining waiter. The food was bland and reheated. It was never truly great at Fiorello, but it seems to be worse in recent years. You don't go there for superb food anyway. It's all about the glittery view and the old school atmosphere. A relative visiting town wanted Italian and to stay on the Upper West Side. Since the whole neighborhood is more about family-friendly than serious cuisine, we chose the view and the vibe. When they're not mobbed, the staff at Fiorello are charming and one can have a lovely evening there. But serious foodies need to take a cab to any other part of town for good Italian."

  • "Fiorello and Cafe dell' Arte are our go to places for fabulous Italian food. We have never had a bad meal whether lunch or dinner, whether a group or just two of us and the service is first rate."

  • "This was my first time at Café Fiorello but will not be my last. They were very accommodating to my food allergy and the food was delicious. Plus the location is great with it being right across the street from the Lincoln Center."

  • "Lots of good choices on their prix fixe lunch menu. They offer selections from their appetizer table as well as Italian specialties. Tiramisu for dessert was huge."

  • "We were there on Saturday night at 8pm to celebrate our daughters birthday. They were out of ravioli, meatballs and baby artichokes. At 8pm on a Saturday night?! Unacceptable"

  • "Great place to eat after a show at Lincoln Center (literally across the street). The food is delicious....there wasn't anything we didn't like. Make sure to make reservations if you want a good table or booth because it gets jam packed after a performance. Leave room for the chocolate mousse with fresh whipped cream."

  • "noisy and crowded but probably the norm for New York city"

  • "This restaurant is a zoo when it's busy. No place to wait for a table, no room to walk through the restaurant, everyone on top of everyone else with most tables very close together. If you like that kind of atmosphere, then this place is for you! It feels very touristy. Our table was in the front of the restaurant, at the big windows facing Broadway with the bar behind us. My seat had its back to the bar, and only once did it feel like people walking between me and the bar, a very narrow space, were on top of me. As for the food, my cousin and I liked the pesto ravioli and our appetizers, but the branzino and veal fell shorts, according to our companions."

  • "We had to wait for about 15 minutes for our reserved table but the servers expedited our meal and we got out on time. It was a little rushed. This place can be bursting at the seams during pre-performance times but the food is always very good so we keep going back. The staff knows how to deal with feeding the entire restaurant at once."

  • "Fresh pasta , super super everything! Tuscan wine delightful. Do not miss this experience. Sit near the bar. It is fun people watching. More romantic in the back area. What ever you are there for its great!"

  • "The only flaw of Cafe Fiorello is the too tiny bathroom. Customers get stuck in that little space. You must consider to renovate it!"

  • "This is not a rating of the food or the service since we'd experience neither. It is a comment of management neglect. We arrived for a brunch reservation only to be turned away due to a restaurant inspection taking place. At no point before then had the restaurant staff tried to contact us to inform that they will not be seating. It would have been the considerate thing to do."

  • "Across from Lincoln Center, a very popular and convenient spot with spotty service and uneven food. Extremely noisy, even early in the eve, the staff seems a bit disorganized. Food took a long time coming to the table. Caesar salad was great, veal only so so. With so many other places around, can't recommend it."

  • "Prices have skyrocketed and the wait staff is less than attentive but the food is still good."

  • "Came here for a special lunch with my co-workers. We had mixed opinions on the food. Service was fine, but could have been better especially since the restaurant was not at all busy. Not bad, but not a place I would rush back to either."

  • "From the service to the food, the entire experience was mediocre. We dined after the opera at Lincoln Center, and this was a huge disappointment. the server was distracted and unfriendly. She didn't care. At all. We'll never go back."

  • "May have been because it was Monday night, but service was off and meal was very long in coming. Dishes had obviously been sitting and were 'zapped' before serving. Still love the restaurant but might avoid Mondays!"

  • "Typically our experience at Fiorello's is very good. Our waiter was not very attentive and we waited a long time between our appetizers and dinner. The Manager came over to apologize for the delay however our waiter never acknowledged or commented. We think the waiter forgot to put in for one of the dinners. We had an opera at 8:00 so there was not enough time for dessert and we had to rush to the Met. Very disappointing as we allowed for more than enough time (our reservation was for 5:30 and there were four of us)."

  • "It was a great place to celebrate with family and friends after a show. The food itself was a celebration."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "We always try to allow enough pre-concert time to treat ourselves to Fiorello. The antipasti are incredible...and the entrees are even better. Service is always cordial and efficient. The bread basket can be a meal/ treat/dessert on its own. Terrific restaurant...I think they do everything right!!"

  • "Cafe Fiorello is the perfect pre/post theater restaurant. Food and service were excellent. Only drawback, you're sitting on too close to the table next to you and the check in area is not sitiated in a good spot. Too much hustle and bustle with waiter and patrons waited to be seated."

  • "Sunday brunch. At the start, the corn muffins and raisin/cinnamon scones were just ok. Not enough taste and a little dry. We waited forever for our order, but they were nice enough to explain the kitchen was swamped and brought us a plate of antipasti for our table, on the house. The wait staff was very professional and polite. When the food arrived, it was just average. The asparagus, mozzarella, provolone frittata was flat, not fluffy and didn't have much taste other than cooked egg. But the potatoes that came with it were delicious. My husband's Mediterranean Salad with chicken was "packed with avocado, better than average but didn't bowl me over". We were in a smaller back room, and even in there it was so noisy we had to shout."

  • "Second visit to this gem, conveniently across street from Lincoln Center and the Met. Delicious food, attentive friendly service, no sense of need to hurry from the table, despite the throngs outside, trying to get in. We arrived on time for our reservation and, even though there was a huge crowd at the door, we were immediately shown to our table. No "take a drink at the bar and we'll call you" here! The room hums with a vibrancy that promotes a sense of fellowship so guests at adjoining tables find themselves talking and laughing with one another. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Did I mention the portions are quite generous?"
