Diner Reviews
  • "El Presdiente was like walking into a restaurant in Playa del Carmen. Great beach'y vibe, food was delicious, service was good. The drinks were only ok and overpriced relative to the rest of the menu. Get the ceviche."

  • "I love the watermelon juice and the guacamole at this great gathering spot. As long as you make a reservation they will seat you right away and the wait staff is attentive. Great food, affordable prices and fun atmosphere."

  • "Had early reservation for lunch. Only 2 tables ahead of us. Ordered appetizers and drinks all arrived in decent amount of time. Lunch was ordered and 45 minutes went by and only half arrived. Restaurant was totally full by this time. We asked for the check and hostess was kind enough to bring over additional appetizers and the check adjusted for the delay. Our remaining food arrived. Hostess and Waitress were very apologetic for the confusion in the kitchen they had sent our food to another table. They have only been open for 4 weeks. Tough situation. Food was delicious but service still has a few hitches. They handled it well. Will try again in a few weeks and hope for improvement."

  • "Don't come here if you're hard of hearing or in the mood for a cozy, romantic dinner. The restaurant is loud and boisterous and fun. The food is excellent, especially the juices and the maiz quesadilla."

  • "Totally riduculous!!! Choose from 5 drinks. No variations. No Corona. No margaritas. No vodka. No wine. Food, Only tacos. Nothing else. No burritos. No enchiladas. No entrees. No appetizers. Tacos and sides. That's it!! Don't bother. Not cheap, not good. "

  • "I'm from Tucson, AZ, and these are some of the best tacos I've eaten. Definitely the best in NYC. El Presidente's commitment to high-quality meats and other ingredients really shows. The carnitas were outrageously good and unafraid of spice. Can't wait until the tortilleria inside the restaurant starts selling packages of tortillas to go, since it's nearly impossible to find good tortillas in this city. "
