Cafe Du ParcFantastic dining experience! The food and table service were supurb! The french onion soup is done to perfection with the right amount of all ingredients. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the croque monsieur and both dishes and sides were outstanding. We're foodies with a high standard for dining out and we will definitely be returning.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA terrific people watchingA terrific people watching spot just next to the Willard Hotel. The restaurant's outdoor space is lovely, breezy and truly feels a bit of France in DC. The wait staff and sommelier Matthew were terrific. The food was wonderful: an excellent salad and marvelous steak frites! the only negative: we waited 1/2 hour for a table with a reservation. That needs a bit of attention.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMEntertaining guestsAlways look forward to meals at Cafe Du Parc. There are no better Mussels in the area.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst Rate in every wayI have been to Cafe Du Parc many times and it is outstanding. Outdoor seating when weather is good is fantastic. Arguably the best french fries in DC. Perfect service.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Meal and serviceWe had a cocktail first in the Willard and then diner upstairs in the cafe as weather. Excellent service from our waiter, who took time to talk to us and also recommended an excellent wine at a reasonable price.Old style service . We do eat out a lot but this was one of our best experiences.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic Bistro in DCInteresting but somewhat limited menu of classic bistro entrees, such as steak frites. Food was well prepared and well presented. Moules frites entree, split as a starter, was excellent, and also huge. Wines list was limited and expensive.
Easily accessible by Metro.
Overall, a very good dining experience.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Outdoor ResturantHad lunch here on a nice day and it was great. Food was good, and great outdoor spot.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Bistro, Great LocationWe were staying at the Willard, so after a hard day of sight-seeing, the Cafe Du Parc was a natural choice for dinner. The charming bistro decor and lovely setting--tree lined part of Pennsylvania Ave, across from the treasury--were lovely. The Onion soup was one of the best I have had, pefectly prepared, a TON of cheese (could have been a meal). My wife had a delcious halibut entree, I ordered the mussels which were both perfectly prepared. The serving of mussels was the largest I have ever encountered, including in France. Service was competent, if somewhat aloof (after all it is a FRENCH restaurant). Nice wine selection with reasonably priced as well as higher end choices.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFeeling SpecialWe were seated at a cozy table in the corner for some privacy. French onion soup and watermelon salad (special of the day) were great. Mussels entree was HUGE and salmon with potato puree were delicious. My husband and I finished dinner with the Creme Puffs and cappuccino. The Creme puffs are to die for. The cappuccino was eh (more of a latte). Dessert came with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on the plate and complimentary champagne for the celebration. Our server was friendly and attentive. We would definitely come back for a special occasion.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNo doubt about it, everythingNo doubt about it, everything was as expected. The food (trout and scallops)was outstanding, the service friendly and very professional. We will definitely be returning. The vanilla ice cream with a warm bitter chocolate sauce was to die for.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMToo loud. There is not sufficientToo loud. There is not sufficient sound reducing material in the decor or elsewhere.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMSat at the bar for businessSat at the bar for business trip, quiet Monday night but friendly bar tender and hostress to chat with. Crab soup and mussels were fabulous.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you adore moule frite thsIf you adore moule frite ths is theplace to go. Best muscles in town.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMJuan, our server, was great.Juan, our server, was great. Food was very nice and the service was excellent. Juan got us out in plenty of time for the movie.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't miss this spotGreat food and service in a wonderful location
Only complaint is a woeful wine list. Quite surprised at the lack of French wines
Overall excellent, we will be back!,3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat eveningAfter a long day of slogging through the rain and sightseeing, cafe du park was a lovely experience. Food was delicious and the service was great.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBig Name, Cozy Fine MealA cozy and wonderful restaurant with seriously good food.1/19/2013 12:00:00 AMNice food , pleasant venue. The venue is well named, for it is more "Cafe" in feel than ' Restuarant", small bare wooden tables, high ceilings, - all adding to the cafe feel and pleasant ambience Staff were friendly and helpful although spread a little thin. The food was good but I confess I was expecting a much higher standard considering the overview by a Michelin starred Chef. Happily return, good place to eat, nice venue.12/25/2012 12:00:00 AMI enjoyed Christmas dinnerI enjoyed Christmas dinner at Cafe du Parc, particularly the duck confit and the cheese plate. Excellent service. Warm, unpretentious atmosphere. I'll definitely return.12/25/2012 12:00:00 AMGood but expensiveThere is outdoor dining and it is very convenient if you are going to theater. The food is excellent and the service is solid. They have a decent selection of wines. Note that the outdoor dining is right on Pennsylvania Ave. which isn't ideal with the tourist buses and such running by a lot, particularly in the high season. It is quite expensive - it is connected to the Willard Hotel, enough said. There are definitely better values out there, but the location near the theater is excellent. If you want a good, high-end meal and then a quick walk to either the Warner or National Theater, there aren't a lot of choices out there - this is one of them. You just have to pay for it.9/29/2012 12:00:00 AM
