  • "The 3 stars for service was because although our waiter Roy was outstanding, he had no control of the kitchen wait time. Even with a reservation, we waited at our table for an hour & a half for the lunch entrees to be served. The food was excellent & the meal would have been so perfect if not for the wait. It was Cherry Blossom festival weekend, but we were one of the first diners to check in at the outdoor patio area. The coffee bar for mornings did have quick service & had very good fare as well. Loved the Willard overall!"

  • "We visit DC pretty regularly now because one of our kids is here in college. Saw this place 4 yrs. ago and finally got there for dinner. Of course, when I made the reservation I didn't expect as nice a night weatherwise as it was, it would have made it perfect to have eaten outside! Everything was just delicious! I would highly recommend Cafe du Parc to anyone visiting DC! Great meal! Everyone had something different and all were raving! I ordered the mussels...there weree 80! No kidding! The entire table could have fed off this dish as their dinners!"

  • "Six of us visited Cafe du Parc last Saturday night. Our drink orders were taken straight away by a very pleasant waiter who was attentive and professional. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the cooking. Attractively presented, the steak tartare, roast chicken, salmon and vegetables lacked basic seasoning (i.e., salt and pepper). Although the sauce served with the chicken was delicious, the bird was profoundly overcooked and dry. The salmon was likewise overcooked and entirely flavorless. The mussels and fries were the exception with a tasty basic parsley, garlic and white wine bath. It was a birthday dinner for two of us, but because of the experience with appetizers and main courses, we passed on desert."

We arrived a day before our reservations & in searching for a restaurant for lunch during the week, saw several reviews stating Cafe' du Parc was a disappointment in several areas. We became quite apprehensive and considered canceling our reservations. We decided to keep the reservations and take the risk. We are so glad we did. The food and wine were excellent and service was attentive but not intrusive. And The Willard Hotel is so overwhelming beautiful."

  • "Had a friendly, attentive server who helped make the dining experience a pleasure. Roast chicken with a nice bed of mixed mushrooms was moist with crisp skin. Mashed potatoes on the side were creamy. All around very nice lunch spot near the Ronald Reagan Building."

  • "I was treated by my husband to my birthday dinner at Café DuParc and show at the National. What a memorable evening. The food was excellent. I'll remember it for years. Quality ingredients, careful planning, and preparation were a delight. We were especially impressed with the charcturie appetizer. My husband, a meat-a-holic, said it was by far the best he's ever had. My advice is to split the appetizer, as the portions of all courses were generous. The service was friendly and there was a birthday card waiting for me at our table when we arrived signed by the kitchen staff, which was very sweet. After the show we had drinks at the Robins Nest, also in the Willard. For all you guys out there -- this is a easy to pull-off fancy date night."

  • "Overall the food was good although my steak was way overcooked which was surprising given how few people were in the restaurant. Our server was very quick, too quick. He asked for a drink order and immediately began pushing us to order. The restaurant wasn't full so there was no reason to try and flip the table. That being said our server was very nice and based on where the restaurant is located has to deal with a fair amount of tourists. I can't say I would go back given the price points."

  • "The decor is classic yellow and white French with an open kitchen to the dining room which overlooks classical DC architecture, the White House and parks. Amazing atmosphere that reminds us of our favorite cafe in Paris. The manager stopped by noting that we had moved our reservation a number of times from the original Valentine's Day and had champagne served as if we were there on the right day. Very personal experience. The food was excellent if unimaginative although it completely and accurately fits the French Cafe in Paris theme. The dessert was exceptional, fresh and imaginative: pineapple carpaccio. Worth every dollar on a very nice evening out on the town."

  • "I took my daughter (16) and a good friend here for dinner. My friend was quite late and we waited for her to order. The waiter and staff were so sweet and never pressured us at all. The bread was delicious. We had plump muscles, pate and salad to start and everything was very good. The portions were large and we could have stopped there or shared a main. My daughter had the steak and fries (steak cooked well and yummy frites), I had onion soup and my friend had salmon. The only small complaint from my friend was that the salmon was salty for her taste. The restaurant is upstairs and we had a nice table with a pretty view of the lights outside the Willard. All in all, a very pleasant experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back!"

  • "We initially chose Cafe Du Parc with the hope that we could practice french and enjoy french cuisine. Unfortunately, our waiter spoke no french. The food was okay. I ordered the salad with crab cakes and remoulade sauce. It was a nice sized portion and tasty. My husband ordered the halibut and the tiny serving size that rang in over 30$, left him coming home hungry. Good aspects-the parking. Park in the connecting hotel and receive free validation through the restaurant. The proximity to the theatre district-we walked two blocks away to enjoy our play that evening. think I'll return to Cafe du Parc in the spring when you can enjoy the outside tables and have a light lunch or coffee. I doubt we'll do dinner again."

  • "The duck with multi vegetables was very good but the sauce was intrusive. I would have like a small salad but the only salads were $15. I would have liked a fruity dessert but all but one of the choices were chocolate which were too rich after a rich entree. The chocolate desserts were for the Valentine's day weekend, but I would have preferred variety. It is a great service to be able to leave your car while you attend the theater, several which are close by."

  • "Went here for Valentine's Day, got a private booth just like I requested. It was very quiet and the restaurant had a great ambience. It was very romantically lit. The waiters were very on top of everything while still leaving us alone to enjoy each others company. Only wish it was warmer so I could have sat outside and enjoyed the view."

  • "Celebrated Valentine's Day with my girlfriend and enjoyed the food. The pre-fixed menu was enjoyable but not exceptional. My preference would be the ability to order off the full menu. I was happy to see that the ambience was much more romantic than pictures on the website display. The staff was very good with the correct balance of attentiveness and time away so that couples could enjoy their dinners and conversation."

  • "Although we ate from a pre-set menu, the selections were interesting and delicious. The ingredients for our salad and quail appetizers were obviously fresh, and the fois gras brulee and cauliflower mousse were a nice surprise. The entrees were nicely portioned and flavorful. We appreciated the nice dessert presentations as plated, and the kalamansi panna cotta was light and tasty. Our issue was that we had to wait a bit before our waiter came by the table to take our order or even give us water or bread, despite the fact the restaurant was far from full. Still, the staff overall was very friendly and the meal quality made our overall dining experience enjoyable. We would come again to try the regular menu."

  • "I picked Café du Parc because of its location. As a rule, I avoid restaurants in hotels, but this is The Willard. We were not disappointed. This was a birthday celebration. Staff reserved a table in a quiet corner and placed a birthday card from the staff on the table. Our waiter, Salvador, was exceptional. Attentive but not hovering. The food was exquisite. The “Filet Mignon de Porc” melted on the tongue. Complimentary champagne completed the night. A wonderful experience. The dining room is understated but pleasant. Too bad the windows are not large enough to view Freedom Plaza across the street -- not possible as The Willard is an historic building. Still, making our own history within this piece of American heritage was wonderful."

  • "Since it was DC Restaurant Week, we didn't expect much from the limited menu. However, the service was excellent, the food delicious and plentiful. Two minor issues: It was very cold outside so the meager one coatrack for all their diners was overflowing with coats. We kept ours at our seats. No other option was offered. Also, my seat on the bench by the window was located under air flowing from the ceiling onto my neck, so I changed seats with my husband. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I would recommend it to others."

  • "Yambi was my server but I only knew that from her name tag. She didn't introduce herself, welcome us or go over the menu. She asked what we wanted to drink and perhaps since we didn't order alcohol she didn't feel the need to "serve" us. My guest was experiencing French cuisine for the first time and she had several questions. Yambi would answer one question then walk away; leaving us to flag her down to keep asking questions because once she answered a question she would instantly walk away. We had to ask to have our ginger ales and water glasses refilled. We ordered a side of steak frites and she gave us a bottle of ketchup with the plastic still on the bottle. She didn't check in on us. The food was amazing but not worth the service."

  • "We had reservations elsewhere but were faced with an awful, scant pre fixe menu upon arrival and had to find another option for the night for 3 of us. Café Du Parc had an opening, so we took it. The food was very very good. My filet was a bit tasteless, but the pork tenderloin and scallops of my companions were great. The haricot verts were very good. The onion soup was delicious (very large portion) and happily, they had chocolate soufflé which was incredible. Served with pistachio ice cream. Heaven. Service was friendly, but servers did tend to stand around talking to each other, when we needed attention. Made one of our party late for another engagement because we were constantly trying to get the server's attention."

  • "This beautiful little french gem is located in a gorgeous historic hotel. The resturant looks exactly like something you would imagine seeing in Paris. Lovely clean, bright. The service was very good, nothing to complain about. The menu was fantastic and diverse, though I was disappointed to see a lack of escargot (not soul crushed as other appetizers we fantastic). I would love to take someone there for a romantic evening or meet friends for lunch. Overall very enjoyable."

The lobster bisque was salty, the crab cakes were tasty, but would have been so much better with more lump crab meat along with the back fin. The Bouche Noel was dried out.   • "I made this reservation way in advance,and we were staying in the hotel (Willard)...but for some reason we were seated close to the kitchen double doors, in an almost empty restaurant...however, after requesting to be moved, they obliged, (after the second request). We did not let this deter us from having what turned out to be a very nice meal. My wife had the scallops which were cooked superbly and I had the duck which was also cooked to perfection. The wait staff at the Cafe du Parc is really great, they know how to make a meal special. Bon Appetite!"

  • "An excellent location for a Christmastime evening. After a performance at the Willard, we entered Café du Parc from the lobby and enjoyed excellent service and food. The mussels are not to be missed -- and easily can be shared. The gnocchi first course is incredible -- and also a generous portion. The waiter and kitchen are willing to make substitutions. Wine was good and there is a wide variety of price and type. All in all an excellent place for an evening out."
