Great food, service, ambiance and
music! I highly recommend the specia of oxtails and I thoroughly enjoyed the lobster another visit."

We had a great breakfast!!. We had
a table by the window, and the sun was coming in. Our server kept our coffee cups full, and then brought out our food order. The arrangement on plates was very pleasing to the eye. The crepes were very light, with very fresh toppings, not like the fruit jam that other places pass off as fresh fruit toppings. The eggs were cooked perfect for me. My wife had an omelet, and it was a very generous serving as well, with fresh mushrooms tomatoes green peppers and bacon. She really enjoyed it. This is a great place for a quiet, intimate breakfast on Saturday mornings, where you can actually hear each others conversation. We highly recommend Cafe duBois.!!"

We always enjoy our night out at
Cafe du Bois. I always try to make it to the musical events. Thanks Tony for making it special. The food is delicious and the entertaiment is wonderful."

A group of 8 of us came for a
breakfast together. It was a great way to start off a weekend. The service was very attentive, and the meals all came out together, with very nice presentations of the food on each dish. Our guests all really had a great time, and we are hoping to have another get together at Cafe duBois soon, perhaps on their outdoor patio. Try this gem of a restaurant. You will love it."

Tony is wonderful and his staff,
especially Martha, are great. They provide exceptional service, friendly atmosphere, amazing food and an above reproach dining experience. We love coming here and enjoying Pam and her lovely voice and entertainment savvy. and we enjoy dancing and seeing others dancing and enjoying themselves too! We go back time and again and will continue to do so. Thank for hanging in through the tough times Tony!!"

My wife and I went on valentines
day 2014 and the food, wine, atmosphere, and service was 5 star! This was our first time eating here and it won't be our last. The attention to detail was second to none along with our food preparation was amazing. Chef, that was a remarkable dinner and I thank you and Cafe Du Buis for a dining experience that we will not long forget! Thank you and we look forward to many more visits!"

Missed the lobster, but the trout
and rib eye were excellent!"

We celebrated multiple birthdays,
and Café du Bois handled it excellently. Very good food and outstanding service."

We had to continually ask for our
waitress. The food was excellent and we enjoyed outside."

We enjoyed Sunday Brunch at Cafe
du Bois celebrating my wife's birthday. Service was very prompt and friendly. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The Sunday Brunch menu is an abbreviated version of the evening one with much reduced prices. I had a bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo followed by the red snapper in parchment paper. The gumbo was suburb with a pleasant cajun tang and the snapper surprised me with subtle Mediterranean flavors and vegetables cut and cooked just right. Others gave compliments on the prime rib and the seared tuna salad choices. We were a bit concerned about bringing a small toddler to this white table cloth setting, but that was no problem at all. The staff had our table ready for us with high chair waiting."

Absolutely fabulous --we tried a
few different things this time. MUST HAVE APPETIZER--the mushrooms!!! OMG I could have had a double serving over pasta and called it a night. Can't wait to go back!"
Dined on 12/21/2013
Food great, service great. Staff
was very accommodating. Disappointed in chocolate bread pudding;pass this by for another dessert choice."
Dined on 12/23/2013
Food was wonderful, lovely
evening. Service very slow and had to ask for some things twice. Full restaurant and not enough wait staff it appeared. Large group at the time we arrived which really delayed our service. We arrived at 6:40 and did not get our entrees until after 8:00 p.m. Still had a great evening. Slow service not typical of what we had experienced in the past there."

I stumbled across this little gem
quite by accident 1 week ago. So glad I did. Next Thursday will be my 3rd time to eat here and I've introduced 8 other people to it. The live guitar and guitar were crazy good."
Dined on 12/12/2013
Cafe Du Bois has gone from " I
won't go there again," to "let's go there". The service and friendly staff make it an easy dinner. You can spend an hour or two over dinner. Food is very good and the wine list or bar menu also makes it worth while. Pricing is about right for the menu .Large salads and just the right amount for heavier meals. Tony Austin makes you feel right at home."

Great spot in Kingwood for that
special dinner--our 29th anniversary. Excellent menu. Martha was our server and was great. Food was fabulous. Cannot complain about anything EXCEPT I ate ALL of the largest piece of Tiramisu (sp?) you have ever seen. Looking forward to going back. We went on a week night which was great--there were other diners but it wasn't super crowded."
Dined on 11/26/2013
We are now regular diners and
always enjoy the food and service.. Wonderful in terms of quality, taste and presentation."
Dined on 11/23/2013
The owner was quite creative in
putting this restaurant together. A French Restaurant in the middle of Kingwood! It was a fantastic experience. The lamb was delicious as was the salmon. The cheese plate appetizer plate was a little disappointing as only crackers were used and it was very light on fruit.. The rest of the meal more than made up for it. Excellent salads and entrees… For desert the chocolate bread pudding and the creme brûlée were excellent. Atmosphere was very quiet and the waiter/waitresses were very unobtrusive. They have live music (guitar) and basically everything you would want in fine dining. I definitely will return."

We had a terrific time at Cafe
Dubois on Saturday morning. What a peaceful, relaxing way to start the weekend, enjoying a delicious breakfast, with great service. All the ingredients looked so fresh, and were arranged so nicely on the plates. Our servers kept our coffee cups full, and made sure we had everything we needed. The outdoor patio was open as well, and next time there, that is where we plan to eat our meal. This place is a gem. Try it.!!"

I love going to this restaurant.
It's really the only restaurant in our area that is casual but first rate. The food is consistently delicious. It's a place that adults can go to escape. It's quiet, romantic and special place for us to go but still close to home."
Dined on 10/24/2013
Food is always great, and served
beautifully. LOVE the sun room and patio. Not a fan of the larger dining room. The thinly sliced baguette that they always serve with soft butter was always my favorite but the last 2 times I've been here they've made it really crispy and it was much better when it was lightly toasted. Great spot for lunch with the girls!"

We've been to Cafe du Bois several
times and never been disappointed. Food is excellent, service is attentive, but not "hovering". Love the lobster bisque with the puffed pastry topper. Over time we've sampled several salads and all are excellent. A nice range of entrees and all we've sampled have been excellent. We've always eaten in the "front" room which is all glass to the outside. There are only 4 tables in there, so it can be noisy is there are 4 energetic conversations going on. All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant."
Dined on 10/9/2013
Its nice to have a restaurant in
Kingwood of the quality of Café du Bois. We were very pleased with all facets of our dining experience."
Dined on 10/9/2013
The party of 4 enjoyed great food
once again, but on the our return to this restaurant, the service was awful. This was in stark contrast to our first visit where our server was very experienced and tended to every detail. This most recent visit the server was inexperienced and was less than attentive. In short, the food quality was certainly not consistent with the level of service, especially considering that our meal was complimented by appetizers, two bottles of good wine (when it finally arrived) and desserts. I do not see how the owner of this establishment can survive in the Kingwood area if the server problems are not corrected without delay. Truly a shame to have such good food, both seafood and beef, and such lackluster service."

Went to Cafe Du Bois for our
Saturday breakfast, and had a great time. Crepes were light, and filled generously, eggs cooked perfectly, breakfast sausage was cooked just right. My wife enjoys the omelettes there, and there is a great selection of fillings. Our servers kept the coffee cups filled and made sure we did not lack for anything. We were welcomed, and made to feel right at home. Try this place. You'll find yourself coming back regularly."
Dined on 10/5/2013
We arrived at 6:40pm and waited at
least 20 minutes to order. Our food finally arrived at 7:50 pm. The restaurant was busy but not full. Our waitress was absent most of the night. We finally had to ask the manager for the check. Although the food was amazing, we won't be going back simply for this reason."
Dined on 10/5/2013
Went to Cafe du Bois for
breakfast, as it has become one of our favourite "go to" spots. My wife had the omelette, and the fillings were very generous, and fresh, while I enjoyed the eggs and crepes combination. Our servers were friendly, attentive, and always have a smile. Breakfast at Cafe du Bois is a great way to start your weekend! Try it."

Dinner was terrific and the wines
were superb! Having a Chilean International Wine Rep there helped make the evening an informative and enjoyable one! The service was very good as well! Our host, co-owner Tony Austin, makes everyone feel right at home."

Cafe du Bois is one of our
favourite spots fro breakfast. The food is always fresh, and presented professionally. The coffee is always hot and the servers are very attentive. We love going there. They treat you like family."
Dined on 7/27/2013
Kingwood is still growing up...not
known for fine dinning restaurants. It was nice to find a location nearby which one can expect a good menu and good service."
Dined on 5/26/2013
We have dined at the Café du Bois
once or twice a year for the last 5 or 6 years, and always find it enjoyable. We would go more often were it not for the 45 minute plus drive for us each way. This week my wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary, and dinner was especially ice. We chose 3 course pris fixe dinners and had wine by the glass. My main was the beef ribeye that had a wonderful peppercorn sauce, and my wife had the glazed pork tenderloin, also delicious. We went on a Tuesday when there weren't too many customers, and the service was attentive and the restaurant nice and quiet. Reservations are easier now that they are on Open Table."
Dined on 9/4/2013
We love spending an hour on
Saturday mornings looking out the window at Cafe du Bois on to the peaceful patio, and lush park, while we enjoy our coffee and a delicious breakfast. We take friends there all the time, and the staff treats us like family. Try it. You'll be impressed."
Dined on 8/24/2013
They were caught off guard and
were short handed. We had reservations for 9 and had 1.5 hours for lunch. By the time our food arrived we less than 20 minutes to eat."
Dined on 8/22/2013
Good food, good service, and live
music on Thursday nights. Great for "date night"."
Dined on 8/23/2013
We had very high hopes for this
meal, but it left us wanting more. The service was very good and personal. The bar was limited, but you can find something that you will like. We started with a cheese plate that promised baguettes, but only had Tollhouse crackers. The brie and the smoked gouda were good but supermarket finds. The steak left a lot to be desired, but the duck and salmon dishes were outstanding. So, shame on us for ordering a steak from a French restaurant. If you are looking for an informal, "French like" dining experience, then this may do for you."
Dined on 8/22/2013
We went for Sunday brunch. Minimal
menu, only three choices. I had a three egg omellet, which was quite good: fluffy, well-cooked, not dry. Toast was okay, three kinds of jam were very good, not from the foil and plastic paks. A few pieces of fruit on the side, orange and strawberry, were fresh. Real art on the walls. Attentive staff. It seems as though it would be kind of pricey for dinner, but for brunch it was good, about $12 per person."
