  • "The chef at Cafe du Bois is outstanding! The food is delicious and at times can be quite creative, especially at the wine dinners or tutored tastings. The atmosphere is lovely and service is very good. All is all, money very well spent."

  • "Service was excellent, surroundings are charming, and nice selection on the lunch menu. My food was very good, especially the mushroom soup! The Shrimp Prima Vera I had, had great flavor but the sauce was a bit thick."

  • "We had a terrific brunch. I ordered a salad with a tuna steak and it was cooked perfectly. My Husband had the Prime Rib he enjoyed it very much. We ordered desserts they were excellent. My father in law enjoyed the key lime pie so much he would not share. The service was a little slow but we were not in a hurry, so it was fine."

  • "We always enjoy dining at Cafe DuBois. We have never had a bad meal, the food is quite good and the intimate setting makes it a favorite when we have friends visiting from out of town. Tony always is warm and friendly, and keeps things on point with the service staff."

  • "I loved the live music. The jazz guitarist was fabulous. I have to say the food was fabulous (Taste & value for money) however service was fair at best. GF ordered the French soup and loved it. I got the Chicken and Saugauge gumbo and I have to say it was full of flavor and spice. Better than I had in New Orleans the weekend before. Next the baby spinach & strawberry salad. Yum definately will get this again. Next up for me was the seabass which was cooked perfectly, loved it. My girlfriend had the chicken and loved it also. However service was poor. Ran out of vodka, was told had no pernod yet it was in the Fish sauce and didn't bring the correct potato's & veg's that were ordered. Service was slow and the young waiter seemed overwhelmed"

  • "This was a very special occasion: After three years of illness, my wife could finally get out of the house, so I wanted to take her someplace special. The Cafe du Bois was our choice. Tucked away in a corner of the Kingwood Town Center complex, the ambiance was great, the Sunday brunch menu was just right and the service was first class. We sat next to a picture window looking out into a dining garden and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This was our first time at Cafe du Bois, but it will definitely not be our last. I ate the beef tips covered in mushrooms in a mild wine and tomato sauce and my wife ate the poached salmon on salad. Excellent!"

  • "We arrived and the waitress seated us. They did not have a complete bar because they were changing owners. They did have wine. Also the escargot was not served with the bread tips as usual in a good restaurant. I had to ask for another roll to soak up the lemon butter. Portions were small. We did not have desert and when the bill came they would not accept AMEX. That was not a problem but for some folks that might have been a problem. Nowhere did it say that they do not accept AMEX. Will not go back. Prefer the french restaurant in Humble to this anyday."

  • "This beautiful restaurant is hidden away with views of a beautiful butterfly garden and park across the street. The ambience is lovely, the food is fantastic..."Compliments to the Chef!", and the waitstaff are friendly and helpful. A lovely atmosphere where one is surrounded by artwork by local artists belonging to the Lake Houston Area Artists. The owners are usually in residence to greet guests and make them feel right at home."

  • "I just celebrated my birthday at cafe du Bois and had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent and the Rack of lamb was perfectly prepared. Service and food are always consistent. This is our go to place for special occasions."

  • "The food is always pretty good. This time the tiny morals of bread (about 1/8" in thickness) were WAY over cooked. They used to be served barely toasted so the outside was crunchy but the inside nice and soft. This was much better. My salad was good and beautifully presented. However the waitress disappeared for 20+ minutes when I needed a refill on tea, then another 15 minutes when I needed my bill. They had her serving in different rooms and the other waiters in the room never offered to help. I saw her in the kitchen on the phone for a while too. Not very well managed from a wait-staff standpoint."

  • "There was a total of 16 of us that showed up for a group breakfast, on a Saturday morning. Our food came out in slightly different intervals (which we expected), but to the credit of the waitresses and staff, they kept our coffee cups full, and every order was exactly right. Well Done!!!"

  • "This place is great. Food was excellent, with combinations you wouldn't think work, but they do. Service was very friendly and helpful, she let me try a few wines before i chose one. They had a gentleman play 7 strings guitar, just as ambient music and it was beautiful. Everybody was talking in low voices, so it felt very intimate. I would not recommend this place for kid. It is great for a second date or an anniversary celebration. We will be back despite the far drive."

  • "So glad to have found Tony Austin, Martha and the Cafe du Bois gang. We especially love the lively Tuesday evenings when Pamela Saxon King sings - however, the quiet romantic dinners are wonderful as well. The food is always great... and now that the weather is getting better, the patio is the place to be! By the way - Saturday breakfast is the best!"

  • "This was our first time at this restaurant. While the server was cheerful and attentive, the service lacked a bit of professionalism that would certainly take this restaurant to the next level. But, what attracted us was the intimate atmosphere, the location and the wonderful food.. My wife and I will certainly go back again and recommend this place to anyone in the Kingwood area."

  • "A group of 8 of us came for a breakfast together. It was a great way to start off a weekend. The service was very attentive, and the meals all came out together, with very nice presentations of the food on each dish. Our guests all really had a great time, and we are hoping to have another get together at Cafe duBois soon, perhaps on their outdoor patio. Try this gem of a restaurant. You will love it."

  • "We had a great breakfast!!. We had a table by the window, and the sun was coming in. Our server kept our coffee cups full, and then brought out our food order. The arrangement on plates was very pleasing to the eye. The crepes were very light, with very fresh toppings, not like the fruit jam that other places pass off as fresh fruit toppings. The eggs were cooked perfect for me. My wife had an omelet, and it was a very generous serving as well, with fresh mushrooms tomatoes green peppers and bacon. She really enjoyed it. This is a great place for a quiet, intimate breakfast on Saturday mornings, where you can actually hear each others conversation. We highly recommend Cafe duBois.!!"
