Cafe D' AlsaceWonderful selection of good beersand wines!
Wish they'd change up the menu a little - modernize it maybe? Or at least some of the items.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBest French Bistro in the UESGreat food, always. It's a must if you like French bistro cuisine.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the dining experienceWe loved the experience. The food was outstanding and the service very attentive. We will recommend this restaurant to anyone who is going to New York and will be staying in the Upper East Side of the city.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had bouillabaisse outstandingWe had bouillabaisse outstanding tasty full of sea food almost perfect a "chavaya" hebrew for a very pleasant experience.
second time in a row that we have had outstanding meals in this place. Amazing.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAlsace? Not reallyAlsace is the name, but Omnia Gallia is the game. Maybe that's to be expected if the chef hails from Normandy. But I did manage to find a choucroute garnie in the menu, and it was pretty good. A nice, friendly little bistro and the prices are fair. Probably best to avoid at peak hours, when the noise level may be a problem.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAs we have experienced inAs we have experienced in the past, the food was wonderful, as was the service. The only downside to this restaurant is the tight quarters and noise. However, it is still worth visiting this neighborhood gem.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMfirst course salad was horriblefirst course salad was horrible my wife had scallops which she loved and she usually complains. I had duck breast orange god was it good super mash potato and vegies fine two rye bread a 10 wine was superbe a great restaurant and i usually dislike the restaurants in this chain which i often refer to as "ersatz francais"5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMNieghborhood FavoriteGreat food at reasonable prices. Food & atmosphere makes me feel like I'm in Paris at a cute bistro5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe sausages are wonderfulThe sausages are wonderful and there's a great beer list to accompany them.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA touch of Europe in NYCGreat food in a romantic setting at reasonable New York prices with duck a l'orange, solid daily specials, French classics and desserts out of this world - who could ask for anything more after a visit to the Met!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is the third time I'veThis is the third time I've been there...the food is consistently excellent.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMUES WinnerOn recommendation from a stranger we went for the first time- I will definitely go back. I like my tuna medium well, and even though the chef recommends medium rare, my tuna was cooked to perfection. My friend could not choose from the extensive beer list, so went with the waiter's recommendation, and was very happy with the choice. The food was delicious, the service was great, the weather was great for outdoor dining - perfect night! ck5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGood but not much Alsecian foodThe food was good. I had the scallops with grapefruit and saffron rice that was delicious. However, I went with a friend from the Alsacian region in France who said that most of the food wasn't actually Alsacian (only ~5 options were). But not a bad general dining experience!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGood French Food That doesn't Bank. This place is an oasis for anyone who enjoys good down to earth bistro cooking easily found in France but not so easy here. One of the things that I love about this place is the availability of ordering small or large portions Sausages are their specialty... But delicious sturdy French is their mainstay. This place takes its bread and french butter seriously and has a huge selection of beer taken to a gourmet and sommelier level. Recommended-Absolutely Yes5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe noise level bar does notThe noise level bar does not work; it was very noisy.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMSpaetzle!Delicious food. Great, lively atmosphere. Gougeres melted in our mouth. My chicken was moist and flavorful and accomapnied with a delectable sauce and potatoes. My husband enjoyed the charcuterie platter with sausages. Noise level was energetic but conversation is possible. Service was very efficient. Upper East side location. Good after visiting the Met.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food which is a mix ofThe food which is a mix of French and German, was delicious and served promptly but not rushed. The feel of the interior is very comfortable yet busy pace, like a French bistro. The pre fixe menu is a great deal and runs all evening. We ate hamburger, escargots, chicken and steak frits and ravioli. With cocktails, bottle of wine for 4 about 200.00. We were very satisfied.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great meal. Started with the seared scallops which were excellent. The scallops matched well with the whipped potatoes. I wish the serving was a little larger. The duck two ways was also excellent. Cooked perfectly and with just the right amount of orange flavoring. Tarte tatin was good, but I had better. Overall a very good experience.1/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
