Cafe CircaCafe Circa ReviewThe ambiance was outstanding. The food was quite good. The only complaints that I have are 1. The parking is atrocious. That would probably be the thing that prevents me from going back. The free parking is either street parking or a very small lot that is shared by three establishments (these fill up fast! I got there at 7:45 and nothing was available). I ended up having to pay to park in the lot across the street. 2. The 2 hour limit on the weekend even though there are vacant tables. That's right. I made reservations for 6pm, I arrived early. The hostess was very accomendating. I asked for patio seating. We eere able to be seated on the rooftop. It was great. Scoutmob got us in the door and keeps us going back. I always struggle with whether to select the ox tail or the pork chop; my wife with the whole fried snapper or the salmon. I prefer going during the week because the weekends are busy, the place is noisy, and parking can be difficult to find. I guess this would make it a hot spot. He was attentive and didn't skip on the details. The wine he recommended was on point and matched very well with our menu choices. My pork chop was cooked medium, to perfection just as I ordered. The calamari was tasty. And my dinner companion thoroughly enjoyed the whole fried snapper. We have a few relatives and sorority sisters that reside in Atlanta and one of them suggested we go to Cafe Circa for happy hour. It was a great suggestion, because the food was tasty and the drinks were good and strong. Not to mention, happy hours last past 7 p.m. until 10. We had a reservation, but there was a 2 hour time limit, so you don't really get to enjoy your food because you feel rushed--especially if you're spending money and not just there for the fight. Overall it's a decent place. I like the vibe. The food is always good and the drinks are pretty decent. Strongly advise to come early for parking is very limited. Service was very good. Loved the Roof Top setting w/ DJ!. Salmon cakes & wings appetizers were awesome!! Dessert was disappointing. Cinnamon & nutmeg was too overpowering in the peach cobbler. Had the Red Snapper with grits & string beans for our entree. Fish & grits were good but VERY salty!!! Stunned that the head chef would allow this to happen; where's the kitchen quality check!? I mentioned to the waiter about the salty food, she quickly apologized and asked to have it remade. We came here last year for our anniversary, and have continued to come back ever since. One of my favorite spots is on the roof, when the weather is real nice.
