Cafe CapriccioAmazing choicesThe menu is varied and traditional italian. There are many choices even for vegetarians. The greens and beans were spicy and fresh tasting. The eggplant was baked versus fried and delicious. Our server recommended the strawberry salad to give our taste buds are rest and was right on. The pasta in squid ink was the best we ever had, plenty of squid and the inky sauce was spiced to perfection. The bread pudding was creamy and full of fruit, served warm with marscapone was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal.
The staff made us feel welcome and well-taken care of. They checked on us many times without rushing us. We had not been there in two years and it felt like we had been in last week. I had to ask for the names of our servers, as they were not offered initially. But erring on the side of attention to the customer, it was a great experience. The descriptions provided by the staff of the menu had much depth and imagination. The food (although expensive) was delicious and exceeded expectation. The wine was excellent and the fixed price menu satisfied everyone. We enjoyed the food we took home for another dinner of equal size. We enjoyed the classical opera music but was glad when it was switched to orchestral . A little less opera would be appreciated. We try to order something different every time because it's always great. We sat in the bar this time because it's such an eclectic group of people who hang out there. This night there were a couple of well dressed middle aged guys in a spirited political (and polite) debate with a well-inked and pierced young man and his female friend-also inked but not pierced.
