This was a wonderful summer evening for us! Loved the Alley and watching the people while we dined. The food was fabulous and our waitress seemed to know when we needed our next dish. The outside dining is special.

My bride and I found this restaurant via Trip Advisor during a recent visit to Seattle. We felt welcomed into the restaurant and were blessed with nice weather for outdoor seating. I ordered the Trout Meuniére Amandine and my wife had the Steak Tartar and we were both quite pleased. We also had a bottle of Sancerre which was quite good. The outside seating does face a pleasant commuter alley which was enjoyable, but perhaps the indoor seating is more romantic. I think we will return in the winter to find out. md

7:30 reservation. We decided since we always over eat that we would skip apps, do entrees & enduldge in desserts. 2 steaks ordered. It was 1 hr in & Waitress was nice, said that our food should be right out. We ordered another drink. After a restroom break my husband said she apologized again & offered a salad in the meantime. Starving! Food arrived 9:15! Steaks were ok. We skipped dessert. I expected the manager to come up at some point & offer a more substantial app option instead of a salad. Cheese plate, calamari anything with some protein. The last thing someone wants after waiting over 1hr & 20 mins is a simple salad? Left at 9:45. Had high hopes & was excited to eat at this place. Not how we wanted to spend our last night in Seattle

Admittedly, we were really looking forward to this after having a few great meals there several years ago. The welcome was disorganized but pleasant, the server was very nervous and very unimpressive (especially when she dropped an entire drink tray near us and basically shrugged, saying "it happens"). Service was slow and uninformed. Menu was interesting, but perhaps a bit too eclectic for our tastes. Food was tasty enough, but cold as the service was so slow. We had better brunches elsewhere in the area.

The dinner and wine were excellent as was the waiter, but the escargots were really disappointing - no garlic, no flavor! I would never order them again! I would prefer being seated in a place without a large table as it brought in a great deal of noise. Music was inappropriate. Dee Dickinson

This local French favorite is still charming, but a bit threadbare. Portions seem small for the price. The baguette with butter and jam that we ordered for our table of four arrived with no butter or jam and was only enough for one. Other than that, the classic breakfast favorites such as Croque Madame were a hit, and the house-made sausage was outstanding.

Server was semi-friendly and efficient to begin with; however, it was obvious he was in a hurry to turn our table as he brought our bill without ever asking if we wanted coffees or dessert - not your typical French service. We chased him down and asked for coffees, which he brought but never said another word to us - was obviously ticked off. However, we loved our food and the ambience - delicious and very "old school."

I saw Yelp reviews on their poached egg over garlic crouton with foie gras sauce - I had to try it. I wasn't disappointed. The order came with fries (pomme frites), which was served in a wire basket covered with napkin like restaurants would with warm bread, but I thought that created steam and made the fries less crispy. My boyfriend ordered the omelette, which was fluffy and delicious. We debated if we should have ordered the roasted sole, and regretted not ordering it when we saw the table next to us ordered it, and it looked (and they said it was) amazing. Service was prompt and very friendly. We were seated at a table by the entrance; the tables were very close to each other. It felt cozy, but expect no intimate conversations there.

over 10 years later and it's just as good! Their signature dish of poached eggs on garlic toast with a foie gras red wine reduction sauce is last meal request worthy. Just delicious!! The menu looked inviting. So we sat down on the small patio in Post Alley which has a lot of ambiance and fun. The service was very slow and the waiter was not very knowledgeable about the food and wine. Cafe Campagne has a good reputation but we were very disappointed. My hangar steak was over cooked as I asked for dare and I got well done. Tough too. It took very long to get our food. And we weren't the only people having a problem. Would not go back.

The only reason we chose this restaurant for brunch was because it was convenient to the ferry terminal. What a great surprise we had! We had made reservations ahead of time so there was no wait for a busy weekend morning. The service was prompt, friendly and courteous. The food was amazing; everything from the latte, to the croissant to the egg dishes we ordered. It was a bit noisey, but not unbearable. We will definitely return.

You'd think that Cafe Campagne's location, sunk slightly below grade, would make it boring for people watching, but with a lot of foot traffic on both the street and the alley, we had a good time. My husband had his classic French restaurant request - roast chicken - and said it was perfect. Crispy skin, moist inside, and flavourful. I had trout amandine that was also delicious. The trout was covered with a light toasting of almonds which in turn had a surprising lemon flavour. My only complaint was that too much olive oil was transferred from the pan to the plate, so both the trout and the accompanying potatoes were covered. Dessert was great, the wine less comprehensive (we splurged on a $60 bottle), and the bill was about $150.

It seems like Cafe Campagne never has enough staff. This time we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for our dinner to arrive. That is unacceptable as far as I'm concerned, even more so since 2 in our party were under 11. Our personal wait person was very good but the kitchen was the problem.
