Diner Reviews
  • "Noise level louder than expected. Ordered the escargot based on reviews and it was bland."

  • "We took my mother-in-law to celebrate her 93rd birthday. Although my husband and I had been to Cafe Bolud many times, it was a first for her. We wanted to take her somewhere she had never been and that would truly be a memorable evening. She absolutely loved the place. Both she and my husband had the lamb chops which were the best lamb chops they had ever had. The restaurant is expensive, but for special occasion such as this it is well worth it. It's especially worthwhile to go in the summer when they run specials. In addition to the tasty food, all of it is presented in a pleasing and creative manner. I highly recommend Cafe Bolud for special occasions."

  • "This is our favorite lunch venue, especially on the patio, which overlooks a fountain and gardens. There is hardly a more delightful experience to be found elsewhere nearby. The food, wine and service were all up to (their usual excellent) snuff."

  • "Went with friends and had the worst dinner I have had in Palm Beach. The bread was stale and we sent it back. I asked for olive oil which I never received. I had the 3 course meal for $45: overcooked and dry fish, a first course that I cannot describe and an overly sweet rhubard brulee. Another person had the lamb chops for $52. Even though most of the tables were empty at 7 PM, our waiter was hardly seen. I will never go back."

  • "Coming to this place is a special event. At least for those of us who do not spend this much on sustenance. But when the occasion is special, this is one place that should be considered. It is a great experience."

  • "Food was underwhelming. Martinis & cappuccino were the best part of the meal."

  • "This was the Best meal I have had in a restaurant this year. Not to be missed !"

  • "We have been to Cafe Boulud at Palm Beach numerous times, we love celebrating special occasions here. On March 29th we dined at Boulud, and for the first time, we found the food a bit disappointing. We order the roasted beet salad and the tuna crudo as appetizers. The beet salad was good, the tuna wasn't, it was simple, not bad, but nothing special, not at this restaurant's level. Then we ordered the Australian lamb chops, which were average and a fish (can't remember the name) served over a bed of white rice, which was very bland and uninteresting. Service was good but a bit lower this time around. Overall, a very average dinner, having said that, we'll definitely give it another try."

  • "My $40 main course was very bland, no Spices, and rather dull The appetizers and desserts were superlative"

  • "We are fans of Daniel Boulud and he continues to surprise us with his creative dishes. Excellent products prepared to bring out their ultimate flavor. Beautiful presentations and excellent service. We have been customers of Boulud restaurants world-wide for decades and have never had a bad meal. Don't pass up the Madeleines after dessert. Devine!!"

  • "Great food, atmosphere. Only miss was I did not love the mussels. They had a smokey flavor which is just not my taste however someone else might just love it. They credited my bill and that was not even necessary. GREAT service."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "Food and service well executed at this pricey but special local. Prix fixed nights available but otherwise expect to spend an easy $250 per couple if you go from apps through desserts. Well worth it for a special occasion...or if rolling in the dough eat there always. The Masada seasoned lamb chops are a must have."

  • "We had a new waiter who was trying much too hard. He was actually running through the restaurant to get things done. We felt rushed all night long. They need to calm this kid down."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "Very much like the seating area outdoors. The food is good but sometimes the prefix menu is limited to choose from.$5.00 for a cup of coffee is excessive."

  • "I have eaten at many of Boulud's restaurants. This was my third time at Boulud;s Palm Beach outpost. A flawless execution from arrival to departure. Excellent, professional service in a very attractive room. The tables are well spaced, allowing for private conversation and a feeling of intimacy. The food is, as one would expect, prepared and served at the highest level. The brunch menu available on weekends is varied allowing one plenty of scope between traditional breakfast foods and lunch entrees. The three course prix fixe brunch is very well priced and offers a good selection of dishes from which to choose."

  • "Loved menu and all our choices off fixed price menu were outstang . Lovely setting and it was obviously a local favorite and hot stop with a sophisticated vibe"

  • "A quick early dinner before evening concert at Four Arts. Grandmother and I had sides and appetizers. My adult son had full appetizer and entree selections. We shared the chickpea fries since we were all curious. The dining room is gorgeous, the table well-appointed, and our server Curtis was friendly and attentive. Appetizers were delicious (escargot a la greque, octopus salad, and moules velouté). My son was not keen on the red risotto; too soupy and rich without depth. Wine selections by the glass were perfect and reasonably priced. We finished in great time for our next event. Valet service was a bit slow for 7 pm. Will definitely return for a less hurried experience: "Cafe Boulud" should be a destination event by itself."

  • "This was an especially memorable meal. I really enjoy thoughtful wine pairings with especially good wines, which are not always available by the glass. However, they were here. The menu was very appealing and well executed. The wait staff coordinated very well with the kitchen, making sure that the wine appeared before the course to avoid cold food and I had whatever time I wanted between courses. All of the courses were very good and a couple were outstanding. My main waitress was especially gracious, attentive and effective in coordinating my meal. The menu is not quite as ambitious as Daniel in NYC which I think is very appropriate to both the setting and the clientele. It was one of the highlights of my time in Florida."

  • "While I've dined at Cafe Boulud previously, this restaurant gets better every time. The food, the service and the outdoor patio were "over the top" good."

  • "This was a great pick! The oysters, scallops, and key lime pie were incredible. Also, the kumquat mojitos were the best cocktails ever!"

  • "This was our second time at Cafe Boulud and we enjoyed it as much as our first experience there. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the food is amazing The fixed price dinner, at $45 is a bargain. Each course is beautifully presented and delicious. All four of our party were impressed and happy. Thank you"

  • "Everything served to us was excellent and in some cases quite special. We were a group of four and we all tried each other's dishes and all were wonderful. I would recommend this for a special evening meant to impress whomever you are taking to dinner. We enjoyed it, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an impressive evening and is not too worried about the cost."

  • "We enjoyed the food, wine, ambience, the palette of colors in the dining room, perfect level of lighting, and discreet & attentive service. It is also a good place for observing people."

  • "Charming place. I had coq au vin, it was perfectly made and the portion was perfect. Dessert was key lime pie with coconut ice cream. Loved the portion and the taste."

  • "Whether you are a resident or a tourist, Cafe Boulud should be on the top of your dining list. This is a place to savor a delicious, leisurely lunch or dinner in gorgeous surroundings. It is not for an eat and run meal!"

  • "We absolutely adored this restaurant. Food, service and ambience were all perfect. Very expensive but well worth it. It was a special evening for a special birthday."

  • "The 3 Michelin starred great Chef Daniel Boulud created this oasis of haute cuisine in Palm Beach proper, located inside the lovely Brazilian Court hotel. Put simply, one will not find a better meal anywhere in Palm Beach county. It's virtual perfection!"

  • "Had the Prix-Fixe lunch, excellent choices. Very comfortable restaurant and great service. Presentation was great. The one in NYC was always a favorite of mine. I will be back very soon."
    Dined on 3/11/2014
  • "Ambience was excellent and service was at a high level. We were treated very nicely. Food itself was good but not what we would consider a standout, given the reputation of Boulud restaurants."
    Dined on 3/11/2014
  • "In the past this has been 5 stars across the board. This time, the general menu was an odd assortment of items and the preparation ok but not as good as expected. The price fixed menu seemed more suitable for Fall than a warm March night in southern Florida. Staff are friendly and accommodating but service just a bit off. The old world elegance has given way with the result being it's a bit less special. Just another perfectly fine but not outstanding establishment. The bar area was quite busy when we arrived; may be a good place for a few drinks in a lovely setting."

  • "This was my first time at this place and it was worth the hour drive. Food and service were both good and the environment was nice."

  • "Consistently serves creative and beautifully prepared dishes. Server was first rate."

  • "This restaurant is fine. It's definitely a spot for high society - so if you want a Palm Beach Island experience - this may be your place. The food was solid - though not as impressive in terms of quality, imagination, or presentation as some of the other "hot list" restaurants that we've tried in Palm Beach and it was quite expensive - dinner with appetizer, entree, and wine will easily run 100$ + per person."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "Food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Everyone was most attentive and knowledgeable. The courtyard is lovely, but we were there on a chilly evening which took away from my total dining experience."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "I've been here several times, though not earlier this year. I've always thought this was one of the best restaurants in Palm Beach. I was surprised and extremely disappointed on my last visit. My first course and my main course were both just average, not up to the standard I expected and not worth the price. The service made some mistakes, but overall was fine. It seems clear to me that Daniel Boulud is not spending time here or has selected the wrong chef."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "I went with a friend while visiting West Palm Beach. A big fan of Bar Boulud and Daniel's, I was looking forward to a peaceful and enjoyable experience. The food absolutely delivered - perfection. However, once the food arrived we were completely ignored for the rest of the meal - tea and coffee were not refilled and no one asked if things were ok even once. The process of getting the bill was lengthy and more than a little insulting. I would not go back for that reason alone."

  • "Food was excellent and beautifully prepared. Our service was attentive and our waiter was wonderful...the menu offers everything from traditional beef dishes to fish and vegetarian. They easily accommodate my gluten free diet and even provided a beautiful complimentary tray of gluten free treats to celebrate my birthday! All set in a beautiful and relaxing setting, it's my favorite special restaurant..."
