A word from Café Boulud
CAFÉ BOULUD features a French-American menu inspired by Chef Daniel Boulud's four culinary muses: la tradition, classic French cuisine; la saison, seasonal delicacies; le potager, the vegetable garden; and le voyage, the flavors of world cuisines.

In addition to dinner seven nights, we feature a $37 two-course prix-fixe lunch six days a week, and brunch on Sundays. The restaurant is both a neighborhood gem and a destination for food lovers in search of casually elegant dining. Two private dining rooms seating 18 guest each are available for your private entertaining needs, and may be combined to accommodate 40.

The restaurant's adjacent BAR PLEIADES serves inventive cocktails and a luxurious bar menu from 3 pm onwards.

I have been to Cafe Boulud many many times and it is consistently great food in a great setting.. Of all his restaurants this was the first and probably the least populated which is the way we like it. The service is attentive and the surroundings Ttractive without being over the top

I've been here twice in the past three years. The food continues to be exceptional. And I love that though they change the art - it is always beautiful. My only complaint is that some of the wait staff, although quite professional otherwise, have thick (Mexican?) accents. You'd think a restaurant of this caliber and price could give the people with the most exposure to the customer some accent reduction training. New York is filled with people from different cultures - Vive la difference! - but I don't want to struggle to understand my waiter.

Chef Daniel provides a menu of wonderful choices, new and old. My husband had Beef Wellington, an old favorite of his. It was excellent. I had a Roasted Beet Salad and Halibut; both were excellent. This restaurant is a real treat for those who appreciate food prepared with care,

As always, the food and wine were stellar. Sad to report that the service started out badly - our waiter could not answer our questions about the entrees and admitted that it was his first day working lunch. Fortunately Café Boulud quickly substituted another waiter who was definitely experienced and provided us with excellent service.

lunch was a disaster yesterday. 4 different waiters; none capable of getting simple salad dressing; 40 minutes to get a main, 2 hours plus and couldn't get a coffee. $63.00 ; no service, no coffee, soso food. Don't bother.

The food was a bit disappointing at our latest visit to this legendary David Boulud restaurant. The leek velouté was bland, the prix fixe lemon sole minuscule and accompanied by nothing but a pile of beans, and the petit four dessert was pitiful. The duck breast, however, was tasty. We have not lost faith in one of our favorite restaurants but we are hoping for a better experience next time.

What a gem of a spot for brunch. The room itself is elegant, the tables large and the noise seems to be dampened by deliberate design choices. The brunch options were so varied that it was hard to choose. The staff is attentive without being intrusive. Suggest asking, when taking reservations, if any children/infants will be seated at the table. Next to our table there was a family with one infant in a very large car seat carrier along with 3 restless siblings under the ages of 7. A restaurant as nice as Cafe Boulud - in our opinion - should not become a nursery or play room at the expense of other diners.

From the moment we entered we were treated like regulars. The restaurant was full but service was impecable although not overbearing. Food was high quality and well presented but don't expect large portions. The wine list is extensive and expense but there are a few bottles at less srataspheric prices. Overall experience was very satisfactory,we would visit again.

My favorite restaurant in New York. Love the feel of the restaurant, and the food and service is always outstanding. Doesn't matter what you order, it will be excellent. This time, had the roasted beet salad and Turbot. Nice range on the wine list - some very good lower cost options as well as high end, so take a few minutes to page through. Wonderful.

We have give a try to this restaurant and we invite some friends for Sunday " Brunch " , the place is very nice and service is good , but I never found in New York an expensive place like this , we end up to pay $100 each for just one omelette and coffee... very overpriced and not an " unique " experience kind of restaurant and the food just find .... I will not recommend and if someone feel to go just be aware of the prices , because it can make your Sunday brunch just a bad " surprise " ...

I had the crab salad which was fantastic, one of the best I've had. The main was a seasonal scallop which was too sweet and overall the plate felt too brown, every single element was brown, a bit underwhelming visually. Dessert was a passion Fruit flan which was spectacular

  • A lot of tables...
    GreekGirlVIP

It is a relatively small area, packed with a lot of tables. It looks like most of the seating is the peripheral wall, using banquet seating. Be prepared to sit very close to other people, and for a high background noise. The food was very good, and so was service. However, we noticed that the people next to us did not get their appetizers for a very long time. No amuse bouches were served. Overall, I felt a bit rushed. There is valet parking, but it is $63 plus tips...

Beautiful place, lovely flowers and good bread. Endive salad mixed red and yellow endive, and was delicious and beautiful. Waiter lost our order, and after asking 2 servers and the maitre-d, we received the wrong entree 40 minutes after the first course was cleared. The mistaken entree was comped, and they brought a complimentary dessert.

My wife and I had a day to ourselves (sans the kids), and we made sure to put it to good use. We decided to try out Café Boulud. Reservations were made hassle-free on the day itself, using the OpenTable app, and we arrived on time at E 76th Street for our 12 noon lunch reservation. The interior was modest, not flashy, yet elegant in its decor. Ordering from their three-course prix fixe menu, it was a culinary delight from beginning to end. The combination of the pate with the arugula salad and the sour dough bread was an exquisite starter. The confit of duck melted in your mouth as you took a bite, with such an explosion of flavor, that was only enhanced every time I took a sip of our fine wine. Lastly, the cheesecake was simply divine.
