CAFÉ BOULUD features a French-American menu inspired by Chef Daniel Boulud's four culinary muses: la tradition, classic French cuisine; la saison, seasonal delicacies; le potager, the vegetable garden; and le voyage, the flavors of world cuisines.

In addition to dinner seven nights, we feature a $37 two-course prix-fixe lunch six days a week, and brunch on Sundays. The restaurant is both a neighborhood gem and a destination for food lovers in search of casually elegant dining. Two private dining rooms seating 18 guest each are available for your private entertaining needs, and may be combined to accommodate 40.

The restaurant's adjacent BAR PLEIADES serves inventive cocktails and a luxurious bar menu from 3 pm onwards.

  • "Nothing special at all to trip to the restaurant for breakfast even though you live a block away. I was very upset that my bill was charged automatically 20% for service even though I told my waiter that I was not staying at the hotel(the restaurant is at the Surrey Hotel) when he asked me before I received my bill. Manager said if I stay at the hotel, the system charges 20% for service, but on my bill, there was no blank line asking for room #. I have been to this restaurant many times and it never happened me before or I have never noticed auto 20% service charge on my previous bills…? Why the waiter thought that he could decide how much I should spend for his service? It was my decision and it was my money!!!"

  • "The service was good and the food was delicious at our lunch for 2 on a Thursday afternoon. The atmosphere is quiet and sedate. The menu offered a two-course lunch for $37.00, choosing any 2 courses from a menu listing appetizers, main courses and desserts. I ordered a salad appetizer (delicious) and a pasta main course (spaghettini puttanesca with an anchovy flavor- delicious). My dining partner ordered a chicken dish. Her portion wasn't large, but was entirely adequate. My portion of spaghetti was minuscule. It was served in a soup bowl with a huge rim and tiny center. We thought at first I had mistakenly ordered an appetizer portion, but checking the menu verified that it was a main course. A stingy portion."

While enjoying the lively scene, a pair of friends too-long apart could catch up on each other's news over an elegant, yet leisurely meal, launched with perfect martinis and accompanied by an eloquent wine.   • "We had a delicious meal spoiled by the arrogance and rudeness of two waiters. We ordered glasses if wine instead of the expected bottle. To be honest we had an early start next morning and didn't want any more alcohol and as far as i kniw the customer can order what they like! This request was received with a snort from the waiter. We asked to wait awhile between main course amd dessert. After 10 minutes the waiter returned to ask if he could start preparing it. He returned with it 10 seconds later!!!!! They received a derisory tip and an explanation on the bill as to why. W were in and out of the restaurant in an hour and 15 mins. Rushed through by very uppity staff."

The staff was very well trained and the setting was nice but had no view (couldn't people/street watch from our back of the room table).   • " Most of the meal was up to its usual standards, but not all. Some in our party ordered the prix fixe dinner, others a la carte - all felt the same way. Some dishes (or parts of some dishes) were sublime, other just ok. Service was pleasant, but sometimes distracted. We ordered sparkling water, but it was flat. We brought this to the server's attention and he left to replace it - 15 minutes later we asked again - it was finally replaced - with the same flat water, which we left untouched. We were told it was carbonated on the premises. We were charged $12 - at this price, the restaurant should change it's CO2 cartridge or open a bottle of Perrier. Overall, while still an excellent meal, it did not live up to its reputation or prices."
