Went on Saturday for a special occasion with my husband and son. Love the decor and the food was wonderful. Everything was fresh and rich with taste. The oysters were small and very expensive- $34.00 for a dozen. But they were fresh and everyone enjoyed them. Pom was our server and very helpful describing all the dishes and options. She checked back with us often to make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely go back for a special occasion dinner. A bit pricey for a just a drop in quick bite to eat for dinner.

Had the crab stuffed shrimp . There were four small butterflied shrimp buried under a half pound of doughy crab free bread crumb stuffing. Not very good and disappointing . The sides were good. My other guests meals were good. Not anything to set the meal apart from anywhere else. Service was polite but slow.

The drinks were yummy and the food was absolutely delicious! I have never had a bad meal at Cafe Blue. While we find it a little pricey for everyday dining, it is wonderful for special occasions. I highly recommend this restaurant. P.S. The rolls are addicting. I can never get enough.

We dined at cafe blue 7/29/14. Our wedge salad still had core attached. The dressing was messy and poured over ramicans. When our waitress brought my husbands hot entree she hadn't bother to clean off the table before attempting to place it. I wiped up the mess with my napkin. She also hadn't brought my cold entree and said it would be ready soon. So as my husband politely waited for me to get my cold entree, his hot meal was getting cold. I ordered a shrimp cocktail and when the brought it, it wasn't cleaned properly. The little feeler legs were still attached. It was gross. We complained to the manager, she brought me a new shrimp cocktail, which wasn't much better. The manager did nothing to adjust our bill. We won't be back.

Blue Cafe located in Bee Cave Mall outside Austin, Texas is an excellent seafood option. The two times that I have been were great. The brunch is the best deal. The wine list is extensive and can be a bit pricey, but there are still reasonable options. Check the website for weekday specials (i.e. wine discounts, prime rib, etc.). I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Cafe Blue serves a very good, casual meal. This is not high-end seafood but quality dining. There's a steak for the beef lovers, and pasta dishes and salads for the ladies, and a choice of fish dishes. We had the ahi tuna and the trout almondine. The ahi was perfect, my spouse said, while my trout almondine was too salty for my taste. I had asked for no salt, but the sauce was salt loaded, so it didn't matter if the cooks didn't salt the fish. Sigh. The server told me next time to ask for the sauce on the side. We started with crab claws which were ample but probably from frozen fare. Then we split wedge salads which were generously prepared. For dessert, we noshed on the bread pudding. All in all, very well done. Our server was excellent.

Perfection! Great people, great food and great service. I've been there numerous times and will continue to go. Café Blue is one of my favorite places that I strongly recommend to anyone. As usual, the hosts were friendly, smiling and very accommodating with finding the right table. The waitress and staff were also friendly, always smiling and extremely attentive. Everything on the menu is good but I particularly enjoyed the crepes. The wine list is pretty good too.

I am down in Austin to vist family 4-5 times a year. Cafe Blue is one of the resturants I enjoy eating at. On this visit my sister husband and I ate there two times, both Wedensday ( 1/2 price wine night). My husband and I ordered a salad and got truffled tenderloin tips. My sister ordered the seafood crepe. Both were very good. My tenderloin tips were enough as an entree along with salad. It came with 5 good size of tenderloin on a bed of lettuce, small onion rings and a very good bernaise sauce. The variety of menu is good.

At various times, we've had brunch, lunch and dinner at Cafe Blue. While the food is good at all meals, we're especially impressed with their brunch. They have a lobster omelette and a lobster Eggs Benedict that is what we always order, along with one (or 2 or 3) of the various mimosa-type drinks they offer. The hollandaise-like sauce used on both the egg dishes would make cardboard taste good. And we've generally found the service to be both friendly and attentive.

My wife and I dine here frequently, probably once weekly over the past few months. Average bill is close to $200 w/wine. Within the past week or so, they "updated" their wine list, which means they made a few change to what they sell but they made a lot of changes to their pricing - all of the changes were higher of course... Specifically I'm talking about Jordan Chardonnay. It used to be about $80/bottle but is now near $110 per bottle - a ridiculous price for that bottle, ANYWHERE! When I asked the manager about the price increase, he was very unconcerned about accommodating us or making us happy. His response - our costs have increased so we've increased our pricing, any other questions? A very poor job for someone in customer service...

Table of 3 ordered crab stuffed jumbo shrimp, crab mac & cheese and Redfish Louisiane. Shrimp was overstuffed with a tasteless blob of stuffing. I could not tell if crab was included or not. Both mac & cheese and redfish were fair. All dishes were surprisingly bland and over priced. The only good thing I could recommend is the creamed spinach, which was quite good. I probably won't go back and if I do, it will only be for drinks and the discounted appetizers at happy hour. I wanted to like the place but the food was very disappointing. However, on the flip side--- it's a clean, great looking restaurant with good ambience and an efficient, competent waitstaff.

Stopped for dinner at the Galleria location on our way to a concert. Waitstaff was very knowledgable about the menu items and wine selections as well as being very responsive in making sure we were served quickly. Oysters were perfect. Seabass was grilled as requested. Fried shrimp was a big hit. Redfish was grilled perfectly. Vegetable side dishes were cooked properly -- no mushy asparagus! We will be back when we have more time to enjoy other items on the menu and to try the key lime pie.

Took my family to Cafe Blue for Mother's Day dinner. My wife had been to the Cafe before but I had not. The menu had an large selection of entrees' to fit my children's finicky food needs while providing my wife and I some great seafood entrees to choose from. All of the entrees were very good & the key lime pie was outstanding. The creme brulee was disappointing. Service was average. I would have expected a higher level of service given the price of the entrees. Atmosphere was very nice. We will go back again, perhaps for the brunch.

When I looked at this restaurant on the internet, some of the photos led me to believe there would be a view of dwindling Lake Travis. I parked my car while my wife and son went inside for the Mother's Day brunch. When I met up with them, I was disappointed to see they were seated at a table right next to the bar, giving us a cramped feeling. Our server did a great job of playing up the buffet brunch to be something very special and elaborate, but I didn't think that it was (not for $34.95) and she was very pleasant overall. My biggest disappointment was in the ordering process for omelets. The chef was only making one omelet at a time, so each diner had to wait his/her turn to order an omelet, causing all of our food to get cold.

Cafe Blue has been a welcome addition to the Bee Cave area dining scene where plenty of casual cafes and restaurants abound but not much in nicer restaurants. Cafe Blue serves consistent excellent seafood and other dishes in a very nice atmosphere with a friendly staff and reasonable noise levels. The Sunday brunch is outstanding. From fresh oysters to eggs Benedict, the buffet selection is huge and delicious. It's a little pricey for this area but well worth it.
