Cafe Bleu never disappoints. Consistently fabulous food and service; in fact we absolutely love the consistency, and love that we can count on that for ourselves and for our referrals. We've had most everything on the menu by now, and one thing is better than another. Nothing not to love; one of our favorite restaurants in the whole of town. Great Happy Hour, great Sunday Brunch and great dinner.

When you eat at Cafe Blue you have a good chance that you will be served by the owner. We will make sure you are taken care of and exchange a certain amount of witty banter. You are always greeted with a light little something as a gift from the chef. It gets your taste buds going and set a good mood for the meal. Sunday nights they have an excellent fixed price and wine pairing offering. It is one of go-to, events when we have guests.

Four of us went for their Sunday Night "Prix Fixe" 3 course menu. The salmon was fabulous, the Coq au Van was the normal wonderful coice, and the chcocolate ganche for dessert was out of this world. A fun restaurant with a great food and staff.

This was a find and is definitely on our return to list. My wife having been to Paris fifty or sixty times found this restaurant enchanting. It reminded her a lot of dining in the cafés of the back streets of Paris. They offer many classic French dishes, Chicken Coq au Vin, beef bourguignon, steak and Pom frits, etc, all prepared to perfection. The service was outstanding. The noise level perfect. We will definitely return.

We went to this place when it was at 6th and University, and thought it had closed. We were happy to learn that it moved to its current location. There is a small but incredibly good selection of entrees; I particularly recommend the beef short ribs, but everything we have tried has been wonderful.

This is my third visit to Cafe Bleu and certainly not my last. We were greeted at the door by Rick the owner who seated us at a cozy table for two. The last two times I enjoyed the bouillabaisse so this time I thought I'd try the special seafood entree which was grilled barramundi served with polenta. The polenta was crispy on the outside and delicious through and through. I thought it could have been marketed as a dragon egg because it had that appearance. We started with 3 different canapés morsels of bacon or ham or cheese wrapped in puff pastry and drizzled with balsamic reduction or sweet almost maple syrup like sauce. The dessert was warm fig and cranberry bread pudding that tasted even better than it sounds.

I have been eating at Cafe Bleu for years. Their Sunday evening pre fix menu is affordable and delicious. Make a reservation to ensure your seats and don't miss out. Any evening though is great. I have enjoyed each entree so whether a vegetarian, read meat, poultry or sea food craving, they have something. Try the canopes or the blue wedge salad prior to dinner. Also, I hate bread pudding, but theirs is to die for and I eat it every time.

We were attracted to this neighborhood bistro and wine bar by the mouth-watering photos by previous guests. We made reservations (not needed at 10 a.m.) for a Sunday brunch celebration of our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. The house eggs Benedict was fantastic and my wife's blue cheese omelet was also great to the last bite. The bottomless mimosas were appreciated. (I tend to be stingy with my stars, but 4+ is a good grade for me...)

I find this place very reliable. The service is always excellent, the ambiance is pleasant and the quality of food and drink is top rate. I also like it that they provide a complementary small appetizer. In addition to high quality wine offerings, the place has a smart selection of craft brews that go beyond the standard IPA choices offered by most comparable places.

Have been to this restaurant before and enjoyed ourselves. This particular night, there were exceptionally large parties, it was outrageously loud, the restaurant was warm due to the heat outside, people inside, and an inefficient air cooling system. Our waiter on this night was the same as at our previous visit. This particular night he was overwhelmed and not particularly pleasant and at one point downright rude. All in all it was a bad night for all which happens but my partner will never let me return/make reservations there again.

Made a brunch reservation for a party of 5 at 10:30 at the Mission Hills location. Clearly that is on the early side for your average brunch goer because we were the first and only people in there for a little bit. $7.95 for bottomless mimosas was a good deal. I ordered the Crab Forentine Benedict which also came with a potato leak patty. Both were to DIE for. A little rich but sooo good. 3 others ordered the ham and brie cheese omlet and one ordered the Brandy French Toast. Everyone seemed to be equally pleased with their meal. We were enjoying ourselves so much were were there until 5:00!! We didn't even notice when were were again the only ones left in the place. The staff didn't say a word and kept up with the mimosas! Would recommend!

We went with a group of 8 people. Food was outstanding! Fresh hot bread, perfectly cooked omelettes! Great bottomless mimosas. Wouldn't go back though, as it was so noisy we could only talk to person just next to us! Everyone in our party commented on how noisy it was, so if you want to be able to have a normal conversation (no yelling across table to be heard) then find another restaurant.

First time there. Server was very attentive, checking with us quite often. Explained food prep and specials. The mushroom vol pastry was excellent as was the shrimp items, although there was only three shrimp with the "surf/turf", which I had. My filet mignon was a bit overcooked and not the best cut of beef I've ever had. It was mediocre, at best. The creme brulee was really bad. Grainy consistency rather than smooth, eggy taste rather than vanilla. To end on a positive note, being in Mission Hills, parking was pretty easy as opposed to Hillcrest.

Everytime we have friends in town or we want to do a Sunday Funday, we start the day off with Brunch at Cafe Bleu. Their bottomless mimosas are amazing especially because they use good champagne! I recommend trying something different everytime because everything on their menu is delicious! My go to though is the Crab Florentine or the Brandy French Toast. We also have been here for dinner which is another reason this place is such a neighborhood gem. It's intimate and delicious for a dinner for two. Or a great place for two couples to share a few bottles of wine with their great selection of cheeses. On Monday nights they offer half off bottles of wine!! Love this place & we are always warmly welcomed by the owners.

I would highly suggest trying this tiny place. The food is truly fantastic. We had the cheese board and crab dip to start, both scrumptious. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered for dinner; I just had the tuna nicoise salad but understand that the mussels were delish. I would absolutely go back but not on a Saturday night-too noisy! Very difficult to hear one another talk due to a loud large table.

Happy hour menu was great! Had several glasses of great wine for only $5 each. Mussels and brie were amazing. Brie was HUGE and oozing with cheesy goodness. Boyfriend really enjoyed the French Onion Soup. I got the Coq Au Vin; my first time with this french classic so I don't have anything to compare to, but it was ok. I imagined a more even proportion of chicken to pork belly, but I had just a few pieces of pork. Chicken was dry but flavor was good. Boyfriend ordered steak frittes but nothing exciting. Had bread pudding and chocolate ganache cake. We devoured the bread pudding, but chocolate cake was too rich for our liking. Overall, it was super romantic and had a great wine selection. I'd go back for the ambiance and try something diff.

I took my boyfriend to Cafe Bleu to celebrate his birthday this past weekend and boy was it worth it! The food was delicious and the wine was superb. Outside of the food and drinks, the place is rather small which allows for a romantic intimate date. The only thing that I would change is the noise level. Not that that's controllable in any way, but you can literally hear what all the other tables are talking about. Either way, we will definitely be back again soon to try other meals on the menu.
