Have been to this restaurant before and enjoyed ourselves. This particular night, there were exceptionally large parties, it was outrageously loud, the restaurant was warm due to the heat outside, people inside, and an inefficient air cooling system. Our waiter on this night was the same as at our previous visit. This particular night he was overwhelmed and not particularly pleasant and at one point downright rude. All in all it was a bad night for all which happens but my partner will never let me return/make reservations there again.

Made a brunch reservation for a party of 5 at 10:30 at the Mission Hills location. Clearly that is on the early side for your average brunch goer because we were the first and only people in there for a little bit. $7.95 for bottomless mimosas was a good deal. I ordered the Crab Forentine Benedict which also came with a potato leak patty. Both were to DIE for. A little rich but sooo good. 3 others ordered the ham and brie cheese omlet and one ordered the Brandy French Toast. Everyone seemed to be equally pleased with their meal. We were enjoying ourselves so much were were there until 5:00!! We didn't even notice when were were again the only ones left in the place. The staff didn't say a word and kept up with the mimosas! Would recommend!

We went with a group of 8 people. Food was outstanding! Fresh hot bread, perfectly cooked omelettes! Great bottomless mimosas. Wouldn't go back though, as it was so noisy we could only talk to person just next to us! Everyone in our party commented on how noisy it was, so if you want to be able to have a normal conversation (no yelling across table to be heard) then find another restaurant.

First time there. Server was very attentive, checking with us quite often. Explained food prep and specials. The mushroom vol pastry was excellent as was the shrimp items, although there was only three shrimp with the "surf/turf", which I had. My filet mignon was a bit overcooked and not the best cut of beef I've ever had. It was mediocre, at best. The creme brulee was really bad. Grainy consistency rather than smooth, eggy taste rather than vanilla. To end on a positive note, being in Mission Hills, parking was pretty easy as opposed to Hillcrest.

Everytime we have friends in town or we want to do a Sunday Funday, we start the day off with Brunch at Cafe Bleu. Their bottomless mimosas are amazing especially because they use good champagne! I recommend trying something different everytime because everything on their menu is delicious! My go to though is the Crab Florentine or the Brandy French Toast. We also have been here for dinner which is another reason this place is such a neighborhood gem. It's intimate and delicious for a dinner for two. Or a great place for two couples to share a few bottles of wine with their great selection of cheeses. On Monday nights they offer half off bottles of wine!! Love this place & we are always warmly welcomed by the owners.

I would highly suggest trying this tiny place. The food is truly fantastic. We had the cheese board and crab dip to start, both scrumptious. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered for dinner; I just had the tuna nicoise salad but understand that the mussels were delish. I would absolutely go back but not on a Saturday night-too noisy! Very difficult to hear one another talk due to a loud large table.

Happy hour menu was great! Had several glasses of great wine for only $5 each. Mussels and brie were amazing. Brie was HUGE and oozing with cheesy goodness. Boyfriend really enjoyed the French Onion Soup. I got the Coq Au Vin; my first time with this french classic so I don't have anything to compare to, but it was ok. I imagined a more even proportion of chicken to pork belly, but I had just a few pieces of pork. Chicken was dry but flavor was good. Boyfriend ordered steak frittes but nothing exciting. Had bread pudding and chocolate ganache cake. We devoured the bread pudding, but chocolate cake was too rich for our liking. Overall, it was super romantic and had a great wine selection. I'd go back for the ambiance and try something diff.

I took my boyfriend to Cafe Bleu to celebrate his birthday this past weekend and boy was it worth it! The food was delicious and the wine was superb. Outside of the food and drinks, the place is rather small which allows for a romantic intimate date. The only thing that I would change is the noise level. Not that that's controllable in any way, but you can literally hear what all the other tables are talking about. Either way, we will definitely be back again soon to try other meals on the menu.

While celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary, my husband wanted to go where we went last year and I wanted to try something new (last year's meal wasn't so memorable). So, we agreed on this restaurant—a new place with seafood (like last year) and which had something for all of us (we like to include the kids :). They gave us a nice quiet table, the service was friendly but not overbearing, and the food was really excellent! Much better than our usual fish restaurant. We will definitely return.

So we were looking for a new brunch and endless Mimosa and I came across Café Bleu. Javier the co-owner waited on us. He has a passion for making people happy and proud of the food they serve. No w the food was amazing. I had the Florentine crab Benedict- so very crabby and instead of some boring potato they serve a wonderful potato and leek patty with a tomato confit- no condiments needed here. Javier keeps your glass filled with the Mimosa that just have a blush of orange to them, be careful. The bread and wine and berry reduction that comes with the mimosa is a meal in itself. Will be back to try their French toast- Javier recommends it.

I read in past yelp reviews "Cafe Bleu is a Hidden Gem" in this neighborhood, well I totally agree. Classic French cuisine at a very reasonable price, along with the owner who treats his customers like gold, what more can you ask for. We were a family of 4. We dined on Brie En Croute, Steak Tartare, Salade Nicoise, Steak Frites, Halibut in a Lemon Sauce, Moules-frites, Warm Dark Chocolate Ganache Cake, and Classis Creme Brulee. ALL EXCELLENT! As a follower of Julia Child's and a French foodie at heart, try this restaurant you won't be disappointed. Till next summer Javier, "Au Revoir,"

Good bistro menu. Very tasty steak tartar, which I consider a pretty reliable measuring stick. Soup du jour was a very creamy tomato and red pepper ... not inspired, but still very satisfying. Decent wine by the glass selection, including half-glasses, at favorable prices. Waiter was extremely knowledgeable abut the menu. Overall, recommended

We dine at Caf Bleu regularly and alway enjoy it and recommend it to friends. My salmon was not good. I should have asked more about it, but since I usually order it and enjoy it, I did not question. My husband was disappointed in his entree and our friend and guest said it was fine. We will give it another chance, but will ask more about the preparation and serving.

Down to the last minute my sister and I have debated where we can take our dad on Father's Day. We all know that deciding and making reservations should've been done a week or so earlier. As usual everything is booked, to my surprise Cafe Bleu has seats available. I've been here a couple of times before but only for their mimosas, so I had no idea what I was in for. We got there and to our surprise it's not the crowded at all. We were greeted by their friendly staff and our waiter was very courteous and funny. The food, spectacular! I will surely come back again! Surprised how few people opted to go there on that day but I'm glad we did!

Cam here with my wife and another couple of friends. Were fortunate enough to be there a few minutes before happy hour ended. Ordered the cheese plate, dates and kabob appetizers along with suggested list of wines. The food I would consider as french influenced since many of the plates offered are what I consider italian not french. I had the beet salad and the scallops. The food is very good and the service very attentive. I also enjoyed their wine list which has a pretty good selection of moderately priced wines. Also, enjoyed the fact that they had a Rose wine on their list. This place is recommended for casual foodies who appreciated good service and value. Overall and excellent time at Cafe Bleu. Cheers!

My wife and I try to do date night once a week and to try stand alone local restaurants and found this local gem on yelp. At first we were unsure (based on the sketchy parking) once entering we were greeted by energetic staff. Chef sent out a free small canape for us to try, yummy. Great wine selection with good size pours. I had asked for a quite table and yes the manager had read the request and asked if we minded waiting a few more minutes at the bar for the right table (nice touch) Overall a great menu, not to busy and prices made me want to come back again and try the rest of the menus
