  • "I first ate dinner at Café Bizou way back in 1994. I've been back many times since then. So, for my birthday dinner, I chose Bizou. I had lobster bisque (my favorite) and one of the specials - Beef Wellington, which was served with twice-baked potatoes and asparagus. Very good. Every time I drive by Café Bizou, it always seems to be busy. I think it might be due to the old, "if it isn't broken, don't mess with it" kind of things. Anyway, I enjoyed the evening."

  • "We have been coming here for many years and the service, prices, and good food are outstanding. None of us live in the "neighborhood" if you will, coming from Simi Valley to the Valley. Our only thought this time was that we were not "inside" and had some trouble hearing as we were so close to the bar. Nest time we will ask for a different area. Keep up the good food, reasonable prices and the $2 corking fee. Our other friends come from Mar Vista."

  • "I don't recall how we found Cafe Bizou, but we are sure happy that we did. It provides consistently great food and service at amazingly low prices. This is where we bring our out-of-town guests, and they are always very pleased as there is something for everyone. We are partial to the fish dishes. Some of the food items like the stuffed mushroom appetizers are just so delicious we wonder how they make them! Then you add in some special menus for Holidays and the ridiculously low $2 corkage fee and you have a total winner. Be sure to make reservations - it can be totally packed on any night. The only negative is the usual non-existence of parking along Ventura Blvd, so we just give the car to the excellent valets."

  • "I have always liked this spot and you cannot beat their prices, still one of the most wallet friendly spots in the valley. On this particular day had brunch with a friend. We arrived when it had just opened, so it wasn't very crowded. But the service was just a wee bit slow even though the server was very polite and pleasant. Also have to say that the omelet advertised as "goat cheese omelet" had barely any cheese at all."

  • "Seated 10 min. of reservation and all down hill from there. Frenzied waiter dropped a basket of bread. White bread w/none of the dark nut bread. Asked waiter," they ran out" It was 6:15 they open at 5:30!! "They are cutting back" he said when asked why they don't order more loafs. I ordered the $1.00 salad and it probably had 1 1/2 leafs of torn romain and NOTHING else on the plate & should have been called $.15 salad. Owner Philip, noticed the plate, offered another salad but it never came. Ordered pasta with lobster, scallop and shrimp. Again "they are cutting back" said waiter, had 1 small piece of lobster, 2 shrimp and 1 lg scallop. Pasta tasted off (didn't even taste fish)so ordered lamb chops which were bland and tough."

  • "I was disappointed for the second time at the Sherman Oaks restaurant. It was a busy night (Thursday) and our server had too many tables to take care of. My citrus salmon was "ok." Same experience at lunch and I only went back because it was halfway to meet my client. The Pasadena restaurant is much better."

  • "I've been here before for a birthday dinner a few years ago and it was fabulous. The food was tasty and appealing to the eye. The server was attentive without being overbearing. He was knowledgeable about the menu and made wonderful recommendations. Came here on 7/26/14 for dinner to celebrate an anniversary. The restaurant looked like it needed to be updated. The host was wonderful, but our server was mediocre. The food was just okay. Disappointed and disappointing. I had fond memories of this place and now I'm okay if I never go back."

The stuffed mushroom appetizer was particularly outstanding, and I highly recommend the flourless chocolate cake as well. Getting seated next to a couple of very well known professional athletes was an unexpected bonus!"

  • "We had an reservation at 6:30, we were a few minutes late, but it took almost an hour to get seated. When we did get seated, the food came quick. But the place is loud. There are plenty of 'older' men and women, it seems it is quite the pickup spot on a friday night if you are looking for a cougar over 55. I actually observed a couple of guys hitting up on the ladies... its happening out there in sherman oaks. The food was good, but service was slow. Thee waiter got our order mixed up a bit (its a bit loud) but got it corrected swiftly. Over all not a bad dining experience. I did notice many couples on dates (including me), lots of them celebrating anniversaries and birthdays. Some didnt look happy to be with their significant others..."

The waiters are always super friendly and the chefs must be amazing because my food is always cooked to perfection. Great place to go for brunch too. You can bring your own bottle of wine in which is a bonus. Would recommend going for dinner as the appetizers and seafood selection is really good."

  • "We wanted to take advantage of the Dine LA dinner special & are so glad we did! The restaurant offered a 3-course dinner for $25 & it was a great deal! You had a choice of soup or salad, 1 of 4 or 5 entrees (I had the filet burger & my wife had the seafood pasta) & we both took home flourless chocolate cake for dessert because we were too full to eat it at the restaurant."

  • "My wife and I lived in Sherman Oaks from 1992 to 2000 and spent many romantic nights having dinner at Cafe Bizou. The food was always great and the atmosphere is charming and unique. We moved 40 minutes away in 2000 and went back for an anniversary dinner last year after a 12 year hiatus. Were kicking ourselves for waiting so long to make the drive it is still worth it. The tartar is still amazing, carrot soup and lobster bisque are perfectly seasoned and delicious as always. The monk fish never disappoints and the short ribs fall apart perfectly on your fork. We took a group of 8 from Westlake Village last week and they loved it too. So much food and drink and $80 a couple, that's impossible but hasn't changed in 20 years."

Started off with a glass of merlot for the bday girl, 2 French onion soups & my lobster bisque. I really enjoyed the bisque, though my friends said their soups were not hot enough. The bday girl and I ordered the Lobster, Sea Scallops & Shrimp Pasta--DELICIOUS! Our friends got the Filet Mignon Burger and Berry & Fig Salad: positive reactions! The desserts were decent. My friend really enjoyed her Duo of Sorbet! The Flourless Chocolate Cake was tasty (and had a candle in it when I reminded the server it was for a bday!), but more like a sturdy, structured mousse than flourless cake. And the Tiramisu was pretty standard; good but standard."
