  • "We went for restaurant week and had a fantastic experience at peak lunch time on one of the busiest days of the year. I had the French onion soup which was gooey with cheese, a fantastic planked salmon and a rich fluffy tiramisu. My entire group was happy as well and would go again."

  • "Wonderful place. Everything good! However, IF the waiter makes a mistake, don't expect an apology or a nice gesture. I ordered the steak, and my husband fish. Fish came and the wrong meal came to me. I waited 5 minutes to tell my waiter. I told the guy who brought it but he said he only brings food and to inform my waiter. Waiter took the meal and 15 minutes later my meal arrived. My husbands meal was now cold- he waited till my meal arrived to start eating. And my steak while perfect in the inside was charred on the outside- probably because of the rush. So all I tasted was the bbq burnt taste. :/ And free coffee, no desert on the house and no apologies :(((((("

  • "We arrived at the retaurant 3 minutes prior to our 8:30pm reservation. The hostess told me she wasn't ready to seat us and to give her a couple of minutes. 15 minutes later, I went to inquire, and said she wasnt in charge of seating and I needed to wait. I asked her to advise where I can find the manager. Instead of responding to me, she literarly smiled, looked away in the opposite direction like I didn exist. I then said "that was a question." She continued to smile and said she could not leave her post (there was a second hostess with her) and turned away smiling like she was done with me. We were seated 42 minutes after my reservation. My date was a vegetarian and ordered her pasta as such. They brough her food with chicken in it."

  • "We had a lovely dinner at Cafe Bizou last Saturday night. The ambiance, food and service were excellent. We plan on returning."

  • "The food was delicious! An older crowd and families dine here which gives it a nice family vibe. Only downside is the restaurant is old and needs updating but the food was great which is all that matters!"

  • "Third time there was as great as the first time -- thinking of becoming a regular."

  • "Wrong orders brought to our table twice. Dine LA prix fee was a rip off. Escargot was bland and the miniscule piece of salmon was barely edible. Never. Again!!"

  • "We always love Cafe Bizou, but taking advantage of the Dine LA $15 lunch special was an extra bonus!"

  • "I enjoyed sitting outside since the noise level is less compared to the main dining room. Better for conversation. Food was fantastic!"

  • "Restaurant week is a time to try new places, but we usually come to Cafe Bizou, which is familiar and comfortable. So is their Restaurant Week menu, which is a slight variation on their usual fixed price menu, served most nights. For $25 you get a very respectable 3-course dinner, while other restaurants are at the $35 and $45 price point. Our only negative comment on a nicely served dinner was that the waiter did not offer to decant the 10-year-old bottle we brought to help it breathe a bit. We all ordered the seafood pasta which was fine, if not remarkable. My husband loves the lobster bisque and the mushroom starter is consistently good. The flourless chocolate cake got raves from our friends."

  • "Took three friends out to lunch for their birthdays and was very pleasantly surprised on how wonderful this restaurant is. I saw the 4.5 rating reviews from others who have gone to Cafe Bizou and they were right. Great food (loved the lobster and shrimp pasta!), service was outstanding considering how packed it was, and it was very quiet too. If someone did not like it before I cannot understand why. I hope anyone who tries Cafe Bizou has the same great experience as I did. I will definitely be back."

  • "The food was great and ambiance, but restaurant needs updating from floor, ceiling, and painting. The service was not that great, we asked for balsamic, olive oil, tabasco, and box to go but had to ask multiple times. Also some servers are not attentive, some waiters are ignoring our call pretending they didn't see anything. Overall ok for the decent food."

  • "Made the reservation for 2@ 8:30pm. Checked in at 8:00pm. When 8:30 came and passed without hearing anything I went to see how much longer. She said a few more minutes... Went back at 8:50, said a few more minutes. Meanwhile a bunch of couples show up at 9pm. They were seated by 9:10pm... Maybe I should be paying the hostess to get a seat because the reservations sure don't work. I went back up demanding a table and finally got a table at 9:20pm, 50 minutes later. By then we were tired and so hungry that whole experience was ruined. To top it off the meal wasn't even that good and the side salad had no dressing on it. We were offered nothing to compensate for the poor experience. Needless to say we won't be going back."

  • "Very good food in beautiful surroundings. Upscale bistro atmosphere with white table cloths, burnished wood paneled walls adorned with brass light fixtures and mirrors. The steak frites was excellent - the beef was of 'melt in your mouth' quality and a shrimp dish with couscous got raves from my spouse. Service was attentive and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. We'll be back."

  • "Many years ago, my husband and I were introduced to Café Bizou in Sherman Oaks. Since then, it's become my all-time favorite restaurant. I'm in a rut as I always order the same thing each and every time I dine there which is the sesame crusted Salmon. Can't help it . . . I just love it a lot! I also love their chocolate martini ~ yum. Whenever there is a special occasion, my husband doesn't even have to ask where I want to go for dinner. It's always Café Bizou. Also, OpenTable is a great way to make a reservation."

  • "My friend and I took our moms here for their birthday lunch.. Lovely place, great food, excellent service with friendly, helpful waiters AND a 2 lovely pieces of cake with lit candles for the 'birthday girls' (ages 86 and 91)... They LOVED the entire experience!"

  • "We have always loved Cafe Bizou, but we live in Ventura County, so hadn't been there in a long time. Last Saturday after an afternoon at the Pantages, we went for dinner. I had forgotten how delicious their food is! Two at our table had chicken dishes and two had Steak Au Poivre. The steak was tender and juicy and the sauce perfection! I am a light eater and rarely eat everything on my plate......but I ate and loved every bite! Cafe Bizou is at the top of my list of "Best Places to Eat"."

  • "This restaurant is a real gem....great atmosphere, great service, and wonderful food that is fairly priced. My husband and I had the Wednesday night special, beef wellington, and it was delicious. We will definitely return."

  • "We got 'outdoor' seats which was nice. The waitress was barely polite, almost rude. Food was okay, I got cesar salad -good, then chicken angel hair pasta - so so. You could get it from mcdonalds Would tSte the same. Just avg taste. We asked for parmesan cheese which comes everywhere with any pasta, they had to make it a special Request. At the end-tiramisu, worst i have ever had!"

  • "This is the best Restaurant in Los Angeles that have the best food at a reazonable price and you can bring your own bottle of wine. Any night of the week is very bussy !!!!!"

  • "We made a reservation through Open Table for my mother's 92nd birthday. I mentioned the birthday in the reservation. When the server asked about dessert, we mentioned to him again that we had a birthday. Nothing was offered. For a restaurant that seems to cater to the over 70 crouwd, you would think that they would do a much better job at birthday celebrations."

  • "A wonderful restaurant with a great menu and reasonably priced. The staff is superb and service is impeccable. The owner/host is on top of everything. Start at the bar for a well crafted cocktail and continue with a bottle of wine taking advantage of the $2 corkage fee. We have been through most of the menu and have never been disappointed. This is a place we take our out of town friends to show them the best side of Los Angeles."

  • "This is my very favorite restaurant. I have been dining here for 18 years. My only concern is that the restaurant holds about 100 people or more, yet they have the smallest ladies' room I have ever seen. The sink is literally the size of a Kleenex box, and the lone stall is teeny tiny. I like to come here and sit and take my time and enjoy my meal, but the whole time I am reluctant to use the bathroom because it is so uncomfortable and there are usually 2-3 other ladies' waiting to use. They should raise the corkage a few bucks and pay for a remodel on the ladies' room."

  • "Cafe Bizou in Sherman Oaks is a neighborhood gem. The food and service is always top notch and the atmosphere is great for friends and family or for a romantic night out. The covered "patio" area in the front is really wonderful, too. Sometimes even with a reservation, you have to wait - but it is well worth it and there is a nice bar you can hang out at. They also have an amazing $2 corkage fee that they honor 7 days a week. Cafe Bizou is one-of-a-kind!!"

  • "Never have to wait to be seated. Service friendly, timely and can't beat the $2.00 corkage fee."

  • "Cafe Bizou is consistently a delight. The setting is lovely, dining early (6:00) meant that there were relatively few diners and so the noise level was low. The sesame crusted salmon on a potato pancake with a wine reduction always delights. My husband had the stroganoff which comes without sour cream, but the kitchen does give the patron sour cream on the side if he so requests. Our friend had a double order of sweet breads as her entree which she loved, the other friend had the filet mignon with fries and asparagus which he happily gobbled. Cafe Bizou is one of the very few reasons for these west siders to drive to the San Fernando Valley!"

  • "pretty much all their food is good and prepared as if you were in a much more expensive restaurant. the dining room does get very noisy when busy, but it's still worth the trip. I'm not a fish eater, but everyone I go with who eats fish dishes raves. Try the carrot soup. Don't pass up the flourless chocolate cake for dessert."

  • "When I made the reservation I included a note that we were celebrating a bday. There was no mention of the bday at all. The service was lacking as well. We were seated and about 5 minutes later another couple was seated near us. The server greeted them first and took their order. We finished our appetizers before we received our iced teas and the server didn't check back on us. Once we were finished she walked by 3 times before finally dropping the check. It was very disappointing to have tried to plan a nice celebration and to leave so frustrated."

  • "Cafe Bizou SO has been a great favorite of mine for 20 years, almost my second home. But occasionally even the best of places let you down. Earlier this week the service was terrible. We had to ask other waiters to track our waiter down when we needed him, drink refills were very difficult to obtain, and my dessert was only delivered after my friend had finished hers. Even the kitchen seemed off. Medium steak arrived rare, vegetables were cold, and the advertised "cod" in the fish and chips seemed more like tilapia. This is so out of keeping with normal standards. All I can think is that Philippe and his key staff have gone to France on vacation. Here's hoping they come back soon and restore their usual level of excellence."

  • "Wonderful ambience, great prices, great food! We have been here several times to celebrate a variety of occasions. We always find ourselves lingering longer than expected, and indulging in the chocolate lava cake and cappcucino..."

  • "Always my 1st choice for special occasions. Already made a reservation days before my daughter asked where I wanted to eat for my birthday. Lobster bisque is so good especially if you put some bread on it. Love Cafe' Bizou!!!"
