My wife ordered the Sand Dabs. Unfortunately, they were overcook the first time around and almost impossible to cut. Our server replaced them with another plate that was greatly improved and cooked perfectly. The pulled mozzarella appetizer was incredible! The atmosphere is very casual. If delicious food is your goal then try Cafe Bink. I am sure we will be back. We started with the freshly pulled mozzarella - it was rich, creamy, and each of the three choices of sauces added something special to it. We also enjoyed the bacon wrapped dates - I loved the combination of spicy chorizo, the sweetness of the dates, the smoothness of the cheese and the crunch of the bacon. For our entrees we had the hangar steak, nicely complimented with the horseradish bread pudding , and the ribs with the jalapeno glaze had a subtle heat and sweetness. We indulged in the apple crostada for dessert and it was a lovely way to finish the meal. This was my first visit, and I'm now their biggest fan. My friend and I ate at the bar where we made fast friends with the bartender. There was virtually nothing on the menu that didn't spark our interest, especially as we checked out every dish that passed by on the way to other tables. We ended up starting with the prosciutto/ breadstick appetizer, which was creative and tasty. For our entrees, we decided on the sand dabs for me and the salmon for my friend. Both were cooked to perfection, and I would be happy to eat the sand dabs every night again for a week! We were too full for dessert, but the chocolate donuts were a hard temptation to resist. Our waiter was so attuned to our needs that he recognized immediately the slightest hint that I was a little chilly and turned off the fans, creating a wonderful environment throughout our meal, which was splendid. My husband tried the trout and the horseradish bread pudding and raved at both. My scallops were wonderful. Pricey? Some might say so. The service was a little slow at the start, but the waiter was excellent
once he got around to us. The french fry starter was good as always.One of our
party raved about the mushroom soup and I found the hanger steak cooked to my
liking. The salads were fresh and flavorful, the sauteed scallops were perfectly prepared; and the cassoulet was tasty although not traditionally prepared. Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable of the menu and attentive at just the right times. We ate outdoors, where the beautiful mountain view to the west is compromised by the parking lot view to the east, and our companions were a bit put off by that at first.
