Historically, this place is a can't-miss-brunch. However, the service was simply horrendous during our most recent visit - missed things in our order, had to ask repeatedly for resolution, etc. Also, the food was cold and the preparations and plating varied from what we have experienced over the years.

Had brunch with a couple girlfriends. Food was great; a little pricier than expected, but well worth it. Nice atmosphere, and the outer walls are all glass, so you can see out into the brickworks. We stayed for quite a while just talking and our server was great about refilling our coffee/tea and letting us take our time.

We came here for brunch and really enjoyed the food, the vibe and experience. The service was great and the ambience exceptional. After enjoying a great brunch we walked over to the food market and enjoyed a churro's competition. Overall exceptional experience and would recommend it to anyone who is into food.

At first look at the food menu looks minimal having only one page, and the foods look simple enough. But a closer look and you find that the chef makes the most of what's on that menu. Plus the appetizers are not small, they are a meal onto themselves, so judge accordingly.

We were happy to find a socially responsible restaurant offering local and organic foods and cruelty-free meat, but we did not expect it to be one of the best meals we have ever had! The chef's mastery is evident with the tasteful yet minimal use of sauces and accompaniments that accentuate and not compete with the primary ingredients. I had the most tender and juicy bison steak and my wife had the chicken which was out of this world in terms of the textures and flavours. The presentation was beautiful and the portions generous. This is not a cheap experience but definitely worth it for a special night out.

We were the only people dining on a Tuesday night. our server was perfect, friendly, informative, entertaining. the soup and potato chips as starters were delicious , the dinners, mostly fish were better than average but not exceptional, the prices are very high for the ambience of a neighborhood restaurant . I think this would be a great location for lunch, not sure we would go for dinner again.

Everything about the experience was great - service, ambiance, food quality, etc.... Brunch was, however, much priceier than expected, $25 for eggs benny! They were excellent. I would likely return for a lunch or dinner, rather than brunch.

Unique location down in the valley. Have eaten here on several occasions, had a very good lunch in the winter one time. Also, during the summer ate on the patio, large and very pleasant patio (no traffic). Excellent salads. Dinner was good, however, I found it to be somewhat overpriced, about $90 per person not including tip (we had a bottle of wine, no dessert). The service could have been better at dinner, few people in the restaurant and difficult to get the waiter's attention…

The Cafe has a vibrant energy. The service was very good. The food was positively foodie-worthy and the presentation was artful. There is only one SIGNIFICANT drawback. The Cafe does not have its own restrooms so you have to you use the filthy public restrooms outside the cafe. Not as bad for guys but definitely a buzz-kill for a romantic outing.

Low key 5 star eating we chose the Chef's tasting Menu which is served communally and it blew us away. Their in house smoked trout salad is exceptional. The smoked duck and pork tenderloin that followed were equally as delicious. The cheese plate and dessert the perfect ending to a fabulous meal. The service is some of the best you will ever get in the city. A must go!!

We found the food was wonderful, great presentation. Our waitress was lovely and service good. We did find it difficult to hear each other because of the noise but that didn't deter us from enjoying ourselves. The only recommendation I would make is finding a different way to enter the restaurant as the entry was congested with people picking up take out items and people trying to get either in or out of the restaurant. Overall would definitely come back.

Before, I had two good visits to this place. Now, I won't go back. The food tasted great but the price point was pretty high (4 bucks extra for male syrup, when pancakes should come with that option for free!). The real disappointment was the service. Forgotten drinks, slow service, no charm or warmth from the waitress. For a place that charges so much, and has a nice philosophy , I expected more attentive and friendlier service. Won't go back.

The setting was good but service, food and price disappointed. The menu included the equivalent of eggs benedict with home cured ham @ $27. The ham proved inedible and we were told by the chef that it was a "bad pig". The fact it remained on the menu when knpwn to be inadequate surprised us. Service was not uup to the price. Wait staff tried to remove plate as each of us finished rather than wait for the whole table and got quite huffy when told to wait. We were not offered coffee.

Absolutely not worth the price. 4 of us had brunch. (3) ordered the eggs B. The ham was grey coloured. Overcooked and tough. At the prices they charge, the food should be perfect. The cost is crazy. I don't buy the excuse that it is local and organic. Lots of Toronto restaurants offer local and organic and charge much less. The server disappeared. We ran out of coffee, water and cream. When he reappeared he filled the tea drinkers cup with coffee and we had to ask twice to have the cream replenished. The bill came. There was no offer of dessert! I will never return and I will never recommend this restaurant.

Been there and received bad service on first visit - figured it was a one time thing. 2nd trip was worse! Service is lacking. Good food, but very overpriced...and the servers need a lot of training in speed, efficiency and getting basic items to the table like sugar for coffee perhaps?... a spoon for the sugar would also make logical sense...Would not go back.

We looked forward to the hidden gem to celebrate a 6oth B'day. The restaurant called to confirm. When I spoke to the restaurant, I made them aware of the special event. On 8/11, it was very humid and we were surprised that there was no A/C in the restaurant and after asking the servers to turn on their ceiling fans, nothing was done. Also, we were served room temperature H20. We got some ice. The alcoholic drinks were nice as they were cold and very tasty. The "Special of the Day" Fish entrée was enjoyable as was the Perch-based Fish & Chips. The Elk Schnitzel @$31 was good but over-priced. There were only 4 guests in the indoor part of the restaurant and maybe 10 in the courtyard having dinner. Service was courteous but very slow.

There's something telling about a restaurant when their server can't answer questions about their menu, and then refuses to walk over to place your meal in front of you. None of the servers smiled not interacted with one another let alone with the customers. Then the manager-chef tried to explain over why the Muesli looked like oatmeal by saying it was a "plethora of ingredients", Really? Still no smiles. In fact, long faces all round...slippery slope, downhill the rest of the meal. Brad Long, is Monsoon a hard act to follow? We were extremely disappointed. You need new staff!

We've dined here repeatedly, always enjoying both the food and the service. This last visit, however, left something to be desired. While the cuisine, when it finally appeared, was well-prepared and interesting, it took forever. And this was on a quiet Monday evening, when they were the opposite of slammed. The server was just barely competent, cocktails took close to a half-hour to come out, the meal was even slower. Now, we are not speedy diners, and enjoy a drawn-out meal, of course. But this was pushing the concept beyond any meaningful worth.
