A word from Cafe Bella
This globally-inspired contemporary American spot is a lofty storefront cafe featuring exposed brick, local art, hardwood floors and an open kitchen. The restaurant opened in 2009 as a place for Pena's then 8-year-old daughter, Isabella, to have a place in the neighborhood to eat fresh, healthy food prepared from scratch.
Sandwiches, Coffee & Salads occupy most of the real estate on the menu and provide the most bang for your buck for dine-in or take-out. Entrees include Caribbean jerk chicken, sautéed salmon with mango salsa, seafood pasta, lamb shank, skirt steak topped with Madeira wine sauce & garlic mash potatoes, tilapia Provençal, Mediterranean platter, pork loin chops with grilled pineapple, linguine with shrimp sauteed in homemade marinara sauce, and vegetarian options on par with anything served in the Gold Coast or Loop. Venture in today and let your taste buds be your guide!

Interesting location. It looked more like a lunch spot than a "bistro for dinner." The food seemed more suited for lunch than dinner as well. It would have been helpful to know the restaurant was BYO. It is not mentioned on their website.

Food is always very good but the service is always slow. I know the food is made when ordered but always have to ask for a refill or if I need anything else.

It's a good restaurant. The wait staff is very good, they obviously care about what they're serving. The skirt steak is very good. It's certainly not high end dining, but it's not supposed to be. It's a super-casual, BYO, fun destination

Really, really good hamburger. Triple guacamole was a disappointment b/c some of the flavors didn't come through, but the guacamole base was quite good. Very friendly service.

Generally was not very good. The food was bland and expensive. I wish I hadn't gone.
