We have been to Cafe Ba Ba Reeba several times for dinner, but just recently tried their brunch menu. Needless to say, it was just as outstanding! We also had a gluten allergy at the table and the seever was very helpful in selecting appropriate dishes. I now have another reason to come back (not that I really needed it)!

I loved this place. The service was excellent, food was delicious. The tapas don't give you that authentic Spanish taste, but they are flavorful nonetheless. The paella was plenty to share and incredibly tasty. I wasn't impressed by the sangria, it reminded more of juice than wine, however despite that I loved this place and would definitely return again.

We enjoyed our meal at Cafe Ba Ba Ree Ba as usual. It's nice thAt the menu changes regularly son that there are always things to meanwhile many of the standards remain constant. Service was great and the ambiance is bustling but controlled so conversation isn't difficult. We loved the seafood paella and the chicken empanada. The grilled octopus was tasty, juicy and tender. The short ribbons.a.favorite and pleased as always. And the sangria is a great accompaniment to any meal there.

I had not been to Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba for years. We had a gift certificate which brought us there. The food and the service were both excellent. I guess there's a reason it's been here for 30 years. We were there for an early dinner on a Sunday night and the place was totally happening.

You can't go wrong with this place! It gets very busy so reservations are a must unless you want to eat at the bar area. I have eaten at the bar area and tables and both are just fine. Also, the window areas in the bar area act as tables as well, just a little tip most people don't know about!

I moved to NYC then LA after college in Chicago. I remember Cafe baba reeba being popular back then and I'm pleasantly surprised that it's still a popular spot now. I was in town for the weekend and craving tapas. My friend lives 5 blocks away from cafe baba reeba so we made reservations and had a fantastic dinner. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Chicago. I highly recommend it to others in town too!

Wow. Visited the restaurant during a weekend visit to my daughter. The restaurant was recommended by someone who went there 30 years or so ago and LOVED it. Not only was it still there, we were seated (at lunch) quickly and greeted by a friendly server. From there, we ordered 8 different tapas and they came in 2's like a wonderful choreography of flavors timed perfectly apart. Oh yes, and the Bloody Mary was to die for!! A "MUST go to" pleasure stop in the Windy City.

The food was good, but I was disappointed with Cafe Ba Ba Reeba's attention to detail. I put in the comments that this was a first anniversary dinner and no consideration was given. I did not expect anything too fancy or big, but a mention of it or a free dessert would have been greatly appreciated. Next time I will choose somewhere more low-key and most likely out of the city to in order to receive a more personal experience. *Careful of the peppers with sea salt...the yellow ones are extremely spicy! Everything else was delicious.

We were celebrating a birthday and Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba was a perfect choice. Everyone ordered what they wanted and shared them with the rest of the table. It was expensive, but not ridiculously so. Our server was terrific and easy on the eyes for our female table mates. All in all, a very pleasant evening out.

I had Spanish Tapas at a lot of places and never really enjoyed them. You are eating exotic foods and if they aren't super fresh then it isn't good. I heard this was the best in town and they lived up to it. The Sangria was awesome, the potatoes were like the best I ever had. The grilled octopus was probably my favorite thing. The service was friendly and brought out the food at a good pace. I will def be back to try some more things on the menu!

It had been a long time since I'd been to Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba, and I had forgotten how much I love it! Our waiter was outstanding and the food was super yummy. My only disappointment was that I was not thrilled with the table we sat at, felt tucked in a corner hidden away across from the door to the stairs down to the bathroom. I should have asked for a better table but then we really liked the waiter. SO all in all, still had a nice evening.

If you like tapas you would love this place. We went on a Saturday and it was a bit crowded, but the service was helpful and friendly. The sangria choices were excellent, and the food was amazing! I especially enjoyed the garlic shrimp and the potato aioli. But it's hard to go wrong on any selection. If you have to wait for your seat to have a large bar area that is convenient.

We were treated very graciously and seated immediately. Our waiter was kind, attentive (when needed-not overly so, just right) and helpful. Two in our party were over an hour late (traffic) and we were never made to feel uncomfortable. The food is such a treat. They accommodated my gluten-free (Celiac disease) needs carefully, well , and correctly. Excellent deviled eggs, fried peppers(so delicious) , heirloom tomato salad (big favorite) short ribs with Manchego mashed potatoes, beef skewers, stuffed mushrooms, spicy potatoes, and garlic potato salad. My nephew is a picky eater and after one plate he said order anything for me but keep ordering.

This was an ideal choice prior to theater at Victory Gardens. Tapas provides many options, best of which is dining light but still getting a variety. Nothing took too long to be served, so we had ample time to dine comfortably and still make our performance with no delays. Tasty menu -- I will be back to explore more. The octopus was cooked to PERFECTION. That is worth mentioning because it often is not done well in many restaurants.
