Their huge menu of small dishes was perfect for us and our waiter was friendly and flexible, accommodating latecomers and answering tons of questions. The small plates were terrific. My only disappointment was the paella, which I thought was a bit bland. I would go back in a heartbeat."

  • "I have been going to Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba for over 20 years. I have taken business associates there. My best friends have gone there with us. My son and his college friends went there with us several years ago. My daughter-in-law went there with us before she was married to my son. It is a great restaurant and we always enjoy favorites such as gazpacho and sangria from our previous visit and always enjoy new items as well. We'll be back and look froward to taking our grandson then when he is older."

  • "My husband and I were in Chicago for the night and Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba was suggested to us by some relatives. I signed up to receive their text message coupons and got one for a free pintxo platter ($11 value) and it was very good. Everything on the platter was flavorful and interesting. For our meal we chose paella valenciana and it was amazing! The flavors were outstanding and the meat in it was cooked to perfection. The only complaint I had was that out server was slow and not very attentive, though she was very friendly. I had the mango sangria and wasn't impressed, not much flavor. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely go back!"

In the summer it is even more awesome when you can eat out on the patio. Overall, this is a great place and is a lot of fun to go with groups or for special occasions. Definitely recommend to anyone, even people who are skeptical of "small plates". I always leave stuffed without spending a fortune."

One note, the place is very popular, do try to book your table early for a weekend reservation. Also, don't forget that they offer brunch. That is also very delicious!"

We could only get a late reservation on that date but chose to meet our friends early to have a drink and asked if a table came up if they could help us out. Within 10 minutes they advised us a table has opened up and we were delighted to be able to start our evening. The food was great, our service was great and we would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting or living in Chicago."

  • "30 years ago, when they opened it was almost impossible to find tapas in Chicago. Now there are many choices but they are still one of the best.not only are the standards very good always have some interesting specials. We had a tempura like working a flower stuffed with goat cheese it was great.it can be a little noisy but if you ask the hostess to see you in the back it is possible to be able to enjoy good food and good conversation at the same time. So if you like topless it's a very good choice if you don't, the quality might change your mind"

Four of us were visiting Chicago for just one day and, after enjoying a Chicago-style pizza for lunch, I knew we wouldn't be too hungry for dinner. We ordered various Sangria flavors, five wonderful tapas, and four desserts; it was the perfect end to a perfect day. Each bite was both interesting, different, and tasty. There were not overpowering flavors and everything was well presented. My guests had never had tapas ... they are not at all adventuresome when it comes to food ... and they were delighted and impressed. One of them had coffee and she was impressed with the dark richness of the - this says something when she doesn't like espresso."

  • "I went to Sepia during my first trip to Chicago. This restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service was excellent. As for the food, I wouldn't say it was terrible, but I wouldn't say it was fantastic either. Given it is a Michelin one star, I guess I expected more. I would just rate this restaurant a bit above average. We ordered teg ricotta cavatelli with bone marrow butter and the foie gras. The cavatelli was a nice dish as sauce goes well with the food. As for the foie gras, there was no taste to it.For the main dish, we ordered the skate wing and seabass and it was fresh. As for the sides, I ordered the duck fat fries and I think you can get that at any other place with the same quality but for a cheaper price."

For example, the night's special shaved melon and Serrano ham had maybe 3 slices of ham and a bunch of melon. Also, for such a warm and humid evening, they should not have had the solarium open. I never stopped sweating. Service was good and the place was packed. Would go back."

  • "This Tapas restaurant was so great!! Food was excellent- the service was impeccable and the drinks were delicious! We had reservation on a Sat night and were seated within minutes. The server told us upfront if we wanted Paella we should put order in so it could cook while we were enjoying our other Tapas. We were going to order 4 servings and she explained how 2 was likely enough given portion sizes for the 4 of us. She was exactly right! The used plates disappeared from the table and new plates were filled without us even knowing it sometimes. We had all kinds if Tapas but the seared tuna was my favorite. And the goat cheese baked in tomato sauce...Yum! Oh! And the Beef a Tenderloin with blue cheese...so good! Love it! I'll be back!"

He also said the largest sangria size was two glasses each for 3 people but it was more like three glasses each for three people. Besides those misleadings, the ambiance was very nice. It could be a romantic date or also a night out for the gals."

  • "Our group of three went for an early dinner before the theater. We enjoyed several dishes. We had a thoughtful, attentive waiter who was patient, helpful, but not intrusive. On member of the group has some serious allergy issues. He graciously checked them out for each of the dishes without prompting. It was much appreciated. The patio was enjoyable at that time of the day. The noise level got a little uncomfortable, especially by the end of our visit."
