Café Ba-Ba-ReebaGreat food and service. WeGreat food and service. We were there for 4 hours catching up with friends and never felt rushed to clear the table.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service! We had to make a theatre curtain so asked to eat in an hour. Had a super tasty and satisfying meal with refreshing sangria.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDePaul Graduation Weekend OutingWe were at DePaul's Graduation weekend and had reservations at Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba. This had always been our restaurant to go to when visiting our son during his 4 years at DePaul. We were able to sit back, relax and enjoy the endless varieties of Tapas, Sangria and Drinks. Our family was able to enjoy each other's company and reminise about our Son's college adventure. Thank you Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba. We will be back every time we visit our son as he is staying in Chicago and now calls it home.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMwould definitely return! The food was great! We loved trying all the different dishes. The sangria was tasty too, we went through a few pitchers. Everyone was very friendly however it was sometimes a little slow grabbing our waiter's attention. But I would still definitely recommend it to everyone!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great time at Ba Ba ReebaBa Ba Reeba is always a fun time. The service was great and the food was better. Lots of great choices on the menu and the food comes out quick. We got the fried calamari, goat cheese and marinara (top seller, very delicious), and the short ribs and washed it all down with a half pitcher of sangria.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBest bacon-wrapped dates in townMy husband and I went two weekends in a row for our favorite dishes: Bacon-wrapped dates, deviled eggs, garlic shrimp, and steak with blue cheese. It's always chaotic inside, kind of cramped, and don't bother coming without a reservation. That said, it's so full because the food is so delicious.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMTapas on the North side of ChicagoIf you like Spanish tapas, you will love Cafe Ba Ba Reeba. The small plates of food come either hot or cold, and for individual, or enough to share with others. The roasted asparagus and meatballs are favorites. You will never leave this restaurant feeling hungry. It has been a favorite for over 15 years and will remain on our favorites list when visiting Chicago.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMLettucentertain you GroupLettucentertain you Group has wonderful restaurants!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious!!This place is a really great tapas restaurant. I felt they had a wider range of options than Cafe Iberico. The food was excellent and the ambiance was great.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMTapas for all!My girlfriends and I went out for a birthday celebration and really enjoyed our time at Cafe Ba Ba Reeba! Our waiter was attentive, friendly and brought us FIVE desserts with three candles. We felt very special.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunch and bloody barAlways a great brunch, our usual bartender wasn't there Saturday, but we did okay.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMReservationsThe only issue we really had was we weren't seated till almost 8:45pm when we had 8pm reservations. It was fine we were at the bar talking.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways the best!I LOVE Ba Ba Reeba, it always guarantees a good time!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMLove them all!My boyfriend and I love this place. We have dined here several times and we always leave satisfied. No matter what item you choose off the menu, you can't go wrong. Everything is delicious in its own genre (poultry, seafood, beef, etc.) It's a great place to dine for two and for big groups. I myself have brought friends here after work for dinner and they loved it. I like to dine in the patio area during the summer, which is usually first come first serve. So if it's available, definitely be seated out there. Food is delicious, service is great, and I always love the energy. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a variety of delicious flavors!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMStill a GO TO Place with great foodCafé Ba-Ba-Reeba never disappoints and is more reasonably priced even with their reputation and location compared to others in the area and with similar fare.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMTapas done to perfection.Great after work or for dinner. Restaurant was live and vibrant. Energetic more than romantic. The food was terrific! They recommend two tapas per person and was about right. If you're going the paella route, the portion was huge! The serving size was a minimum of two persons. Terrific on all accounts! Will be going back for sure next time I'm in Chicago.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFAVORITE.We visit Chicago every few months or so. We come here every single time. We order the same things every single time. Should we perhaps venture out and try the paella at some point? Probably. It looks amazing but probably too much food for two girls. We love this place. Brunch and dinner. No regrets. Except one: We can't take the leftovers to-go because barhopping with some leftover food is a bit of a pain.
Must haves: Sangria. Patatas bravas. Riojas short ribs. Meatballs. Shrimp with garlic, olive oil and red chili flakes. Empanadas.
Amaze. Really.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat timeI always enjoy eating here. I've never been disappointed. Crowd is always different from all walks of life. Great place for sangria and date night.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMconsistent!been going to cafe baba for many years and food quality and service spot on for a great experience.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and serviceWe ordered a wide variety of tapas for a group of three and all of them were brought to the table extremely fast despite the restaurant being completely packed. The food was very good and the sangria was great as well.
My only complaint was that the tables are so close together and the table behind us was one of those obnoxious tables that thinks they are the only ones in the restaurant so we could barely have a conversation. That's not the restaurants fault tho, just rude diners.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGood brunch place for groupsA group of us went here to celebrate the mommies-to-be in our group of friends, and Cafe Ba-Be-Reeba gave us exactly what we were looking for- a brunch place with good food where we could sit and talk at our leisure. The menu was a little limited and the bacon was a little fatty for my taste, but everything else was great (especially the service). I would highly recommend Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba for large groups.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and really fun! What can I say? SANGRIA!! The special sangria was blood orange. It was great. We were in a group of 4 and split two pitchers. One blood orange, one raspberry. Both were delicious! Tapas is always a fun way to eat with a group. We ordered lots of things off the menu, and were not disappointed with a single choice. Our server, Daniel, was fantastic, and made lots of wonderful suggestions off the menu. He knew the menu very will, and that is key with tapas dining. Definately go to this place.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGirls day out!Myself and 3 friends visited last Saturday and none of us had ever dined here before. We went for lunch, the Sangria is very good we had two different kinds (really liked the peach). The prices are reasonable and we shared all of our plates. The waitress suggested we get 2 to 3 plates per person but there was 4 of us and we had about 5 plates and that was good enough. The lamb meatballs were good. Since we had never been there the waitress also brought us 3 desserts on the house, the caramelized banana one was fantastic! Would definitely go back, the only bummer was that there was a 40 min wait for outside even though we had reservations. So we had to sit inside on such a nice day outside!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and Great service.Great food and Great service. Perfect spot for many different occasions- groups of 2, big groups, date night (although can be a little noisy), girls night out, anything really. Favorites: spicy potatoes, dates, beef skewers and any of the white sangrias.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite Retaurant in ChicagoI have been a regular Ba Ba Reeba goer since I moved out here. It's my all time favorite restaurant. The food is so creative and delicious, it's not too filling, and the prices are very reasonable. If you go any day between 4 and 6pm a small list of tapas are only 3 dollars, but that small list includes all of my favorites! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone except for small children since the menu and ambiance is fit for young adults and up.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMom's DayMom's Day was a hit when I took my family to Cafe Babareeba on Sunday. Both parents loved trying tapas and sangria. My mom couldnt' rave enough about the food and drinks. All the kids (in our 20s) loved the experience too.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMStill my favorite spotI love Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba, and I come all the time. It never disappoints. This time I went with my boyfriend for his birthday, and we chose to sit in the bar. I prefer the bar, though I've dined in the restaurant on a couple of occasions. The bacon wrapped dates, spicy potatoes and goat cheese in marinara sauce are all musts. This time we tried the cheese plate and fried green peppers too. The happy hour/late night bar special should not be missed.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGive Tapas a TryMy mom and I went here before seeing a show at the Apollo Theatre. We were trying tapas for the first time and found it a perfect meal before a show. The service was quick and the food light. The waiter was very helpful explaining how to order tapas to create a nice little meal. We had the goat cheese croquettes - warm and creamy, with delicate breading. We also a spread for bread, a meat/poultry tapas apiece, and a spinach/manchego filled mushroom (my favorite). The only disappointment was garlic potato salad, which, although tasty, was ordinary and did not seem to fit in with the rest of the meal. Unaccountably, there was also a huge amount of it. There are red and white sangrias by the glass to choose from - sweet and sweeter.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfulWent to try it out because I heard such great things. Every small plate we ordered was delicious. The spicy potatoes were my favorite with a tomato aioli dipping sauce. We ordered a pitcher of the passionfruit sangria which was great as well!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMSensational service from ourSensational service from our waiter, but I don't even recall his name. He swung into high gear when he learned that my guest had gluten sensitivity and took great care of us. Thanks to management for having a plan-B ready for such a situation.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVE this place!!!This is hands down my favorite restaurant in the city! Everything is great from drinks to food to service.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBest TapasBest tapas. Even better than what we had in Madrid and Barcelona. We eat here every time we come to Chicago. You won't be disappointed. Make sure to try spicy potatoes and dates wrapped in bacon. But in any case, you will be delighted by the quality of the food.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Good, Fun Meal! This was our first time here. Had a great time!! The food was really good (you MUST have the chorizo wrapped dates!!) Service was ok - a tad on the slow side, but the food more than made up for that! I'm not a wine drinker, but their liquor-infused sangria was terrific!! We had the black raspberry flavored. Overall, a very good experience!!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAs Always, The food andAs Always,
The food and service were great!! I love coming here4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time dining at CafeFirst time dining at Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba and everything was just as I read, delicious!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe of course just went sharedWe of course just went shared a bunch of things..the asparagus-great! goat cheese and tomato sauce-the best! gazpacho-great! grilled peppers-great! meatballs-just ok not my favorite. ham and chicken croquets-not good, you could skip those. The meatballs-you can skip those too. Not the best. Shrimp with garlic-awesome! Moorish chicken-excellent. For desert we got the churros-which were my favorite! The marcona almond butter-amazing! And the apple empanada-which was pretty good. We got the blood orange sangria. We left really happy!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMyummy, friendly, cramped tablesBusy Saturday night, quite hectic and loud atmosphere. Staff was friendly but were so busy they weren't able to take the time to make it an enjoyable dining experience. It was sort of hit and run style service with the waiter running over as he could to get the next order and many random people bringing the orders and drinks and removing plates. Tables were too small to hold much if anything. We had a pitcher if sangria and were constantly shuffling and stacking to try and get things to fit. Overall people were great, food fantastic, but experience a C at best. Wasn't able to relax and enjoy... Had to eat one dish at a time and wait for the next due to laçk of space. I'd come back at an of time during the week.... Must have a reso!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMCafe Ba-Ba-Reeba is our favoriteCafe Ba-Ba-Reeba is our favorite Chicago restaurant!
The bacon wrapped dates and beef tenderloin are simply unbelievable.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place is excellent. TheThis place is excellent. The food is spot on every time! We did not receive our appetizer timely, which was fine since the restaurant is so energetic and we were enjoying wine; however, the waitress gave us the appetizer and dessert complimentary to make up for the appetizer being late.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile our server was friendlyWhile our server was friendly and knowledgeable she was not so good on the order...several things came wrong and then didn't come at all....she did know her product and was able to answer questions about content of several dishes....Overall not worth the drive into the city from the suburbs...4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual the food was amazing!!As usual the food was amazing!! Great place for a group to have a night out!!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only reason I did notThe only reason I did not provide this restaurant with 5 stars is because of the quantity of food for the price -- it can get a little pricey and for not that much food! But the rest of the experience was amazing.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall it was great. OurOverall it was great. Our last two items took too long to arrive so by that point we did not want to eat anymore. However, the service was great and we loved our experience.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food. My only complaintFantastic food. My only complaint is that the food comes too fast! It's a great place for a fun dinner. It is very loud and crowded, but that is part of the fun. The food is very reasonably priced.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, ambiance, and drinks!Since I've been introduced to Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba, I fell in love! The Tapas offered at this establishment are so tasty! My last visit there I had the short ribs and OH MY! Not to leave out the delicious Sangria! Definitely a favorite spot for good eating and I recommend this place to anyone and everyone!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat date night! We really enjoyed our experience at Café Ba-Ba-Reeba. The service was great, and our server was informative and attentive. The food was outstanding and came out to the table hot. We had the Pinxtos Platter to start, then the stuffed mushrooms, rioja-braised short ribs, shrimp, and spicy potatoes. I loved trying all of the different dishes and everything was very flavorful. Even my boyfriend (who is a picky eater) enjoyed it. We also ordered a pitcher of sangria which was more than enough for the two of us. For dessert we had the caramelized banana and the chocolate truffle cake. Yum! The real treat was that the bill was very reasonable. We will most definitely be returning.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for drinks, stayed for food!We went to Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba because I read they have Bloody Mary Bar. It was loaded with great stuff to put in your drink, 3 different mixes, and variety of top shelf vodkas. That's only the beginning of the yumminess. The food was amazing! We tried a smattering of different tapas and small bites and everything was wonderful. I highly recommend the Spicy Potatoes! Make a reservation and enjoy. After you eat, walk off your fullness by going to the Lincoln Park Zoo which was only a few blocks away. (Great date idea!)4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Birthday Meal!I loved this experience. It was my birthday dinner and we came into Chicago from Michigan. Glad I reserved a table a couple of weeks before. Great to take a date here! Easy to get to from the 'L'.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food at Great PricesWe had 6:30 reservations and were 10 minutes late due to having trouble finding a taxi in Wrigleyville. The hostess was very nice and sat us at a table for 4 as soon as we arrived. Our waitress was an older lady who was sweet and had our order placed and brought to our table in a very timely manner. We ordered a variety of tapas and loved each one, we ordered a couple more and they were also brought to our table very quickly. Water was refilled without asking and we were asked if we wanted another pitcher of sangria when they saw ours was getting near the end. We had an 8 p.m.show to attend at the Royal George...had plenty of time to walk the few blocks to theater and be seated before the show began. Love CafeBaBaReeba...will be back!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBest bet!You can never go wrong here! When most people are waiting in long brunch lines on the weekend you can walk right in here and take a table due to the seating capacity. The brunch and the bloody mary bar are amazing!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
