In neighboring Metairie, home to Ralph Brennan's café b, the oft-traveled Metairie Road's vibrant cluster of locally-owned businesses, mix of modest and ritzy residences, and family focused amenities merits its inclusion among such iconic streets that are the lifeblood of their community.
Located at 2700 Metairie Road, Café B is a casual eatery offering locally influenced "elevated neighborhood" cuisine, custom built for Metairie's multi-generational clientele. Designed for a discerning, family, and food-focused audience, café b promises informally chic décor alongside comfort-driven food, service, and hospitality. • "Too way too long for food to come out. We ordered the 45 minute lunch, we were there for over 90 minutes."

  • "Ended up eating alone, still enjoyed, food was perfect, will positively return"

  • "This place has it all--Great food, good wine, Brennan quality service, excellent bar just for hanging out...with parking and convenience! And brunch was as good as the scrumptous dinners I have had there. One of the best!"
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "I thought the food was very lacking and was nauseous during the night. Fishy tasting lobster ravioli and skimpy crab claw appetizer. Husbands food was tasteless as well. Very busy so service was very slow and cocktails poorly made. Did not enjoy and as this is second visit with same opinion will not go back."

  • "Have been trying to get together with three of my sisters for two months, finally we could all agree on a date. For logistical reasons, I chose Cafe B as our meeting place because the food is good and you can actually have a conversation in the place. Our waiter, Alex, was so personable and very attentive, without being intrusive. For an appetizer, we shared the eggplant sticks...I would have preferted it with a marinara sauce, but the sauce was tasty. All of our entrees and gumbos were delicious."

  • "Cafe B maybe one of the smaller Brennan's restaurants, but is is excellent. Great food, good prices and close by for neighborhood fine dining."
    Dined on 6/6/2014
  • "I am born and bred New Orleans and really don't care for the Brennan's restaurants all that much. When my mother wanted to go there for lunch I was skeptical. But I have to say the food was quite good, the aesthetics were very nice, and the price was beyond fair. Well done. "

  • "As with all Brennan's establishments, Cafe B is great spot with good food, and great service. A little pricey (filet is $35) but quality is good. Would have liked an option of a petit filet since the portion was way too large for one person!"

  • "Always enjoy a great meal at Cafe B's. Great for brunch, lunch or dinner. Good variety of food in the menu. Good service and good food. A go to restaurant!"

  • "From the moment we walked into Cafe B, we had a wonderful evening. Service was suberb and the food was excellent. "
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "It was a nice place, good and clean. There was a special menu for Mothers day and this caused a problem. It had limited items to select therefore we didn't see very much we liked. This made our visit very uncomfortable but since it was a holiday and finding another place to dine was out of the question unless we wanted to wait along time. I did like that we where sit immediately upon arrival. The waiter, Mac was very nice also."
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "We have been to Cafe B twice and each time our expectations were not met. The food is rather bland, unexciting, and overpriced. Service and ambiance are fine, but again noting noteworthy."

  • "Thank you so much to Steve, who I believe helped me set my reservation on Open Table for their Mother's Day Prix Fixe menu. We had an absolutely wonderful time, and our waiter (I think his name was Leonard) was excellent with the timing of our meals, even with a full house for Mother's Day. The bloody Mary's were excellent, as was our food. We will absolutely be back! Thank you for an a wonderful first impression. "

  • "Wonderful! In spite of it being Mother's Day! They didn't try to overcrowd the tables to make more money. Seating was ideally roomy. Service was perfect - She practically read our minds! We told them we were sharing entrees and they did it for us in the kitchen-a service & beautiful plate presentations! Donut holes-a must! Bisque-delicious and not too spicy! The grits and grillades - fantastic although we needed more "gravy" to cover the ample grits given. Delicious Filet - perfectly cooked and tender! Good potatoes. Didn't care for the "greens". Ice Box Pie - yummy! Strawberry sorbet hit the spot. Service was quick but not rushed! We could take our time and be done as soon as we wanted! Ready to go back again! "

  • "Had great evening. No low end wines by the glass for selection. Server was great so gave larger than normal tip. "

  • "Great find in suburban New Orleans! The food was excellent, service good, and a great value for the early evening dinner. The glass of wine that was recommended to me was so-so, my only little complaint. I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Been there several times, food always very good but the last few times the food is even better then very good. I have to say my meal there last week was perfection."
    Dined on 5/6/2014
  • "Cafe B was a great find if you are staying in the Metairie area. The service was friendly and attentive. We had the pork chop and the linguini with crawfish and andouille sausage. I made a special request and it was granted and made my meal even better. Dessert was a delicious layered chocolate cake. I would definitely go back if I was in the area."

  • "The crab dip was good; however, very little crab meat. The shrimp and artichoke was good - very good sauce, but the shrimp were not deveined and not very tasty. The whiskey bread pudding was good; however, lacking in sauce. "

  • "Spring morning and tasty, aromatic, hot Crayfish Beignets! Who could ask for anything more. Well how about fixed to order Endless Mimosas? Portion sizes here are large so be prepared to share. Our waiter Michael was one of the best we've ever had at ANY restaurant in NOLA. He knew the menu items and could speak intelligently as we asked our questions since this was a first visit. Wonderful Sunday brunch treat. We will return."

  • "We had reservations at a steak house but after driving down to the steak house we could not find a place to park because valet was not taking cars due to a certain fest in town. We were very happy things worked out this way because it turned out to be a much better evening. Everything was perfect."

  • "Excellent food and service. Healthy and indulgent choices on the menu. Perfect restaurant for lunch or dinner with friends or a date night. Nice selection of cocktails and wines by the glass"

  • "Food was great as usual. Haven't ever been disappointed in what I ordered. Service was a little slow (maybe a new waitress?) not usually the case. The usual here is equal to the other Brennan's endeavors. In fact the only thing I can find wrong is that when the AC is on it sounds like a helicopter is landing on the roof. The building is relatively new so I don't really know what that's about! Overall this is a wonderful dining venue."

  • "Cafe B continues to be a beacon of superior cuisine in this this ritzy New Orleans suburb. Four of us started with the garlic fries with house made ketchup. The gumbo was dark and rich. The Diver scallops with kale were cooked perfectly. The grilled romaine with fresh blue crab was delicious and generous. The pulled pork sandwich got a thumbs up. For dessert the house made Apple Strudel with a dollop of house butter pecan.ice cream plus a separate full serving of the house butter pecan was generous enough for 4 of to share. The lunch 10¢ martinis that started our lunch were tasty too. The house rolls are layered and flaky like little round croissants. Cafe B is another Ralph Brennan hit. Our waitperson was efficient and pleasant."

  • "Worth the trip out of New orleans, especially is you have a car. The service was awesome. My kids loved the kids menus and delicious fresh healthy kids choices. Our fish was amazing. This place combines a lovely atmosphere, attentive service and gourmet food with a kid friendliness not usually seem at "high end" restaurants. Highly recommended for foodie families!"

  • "Took my girlfriend to Cafe B for Anniversary Dinner. Brennan's restaurant with a nice location on Metairie Road. I did b4 sunset menu which was a great deal for three courses, you just have to eat order before 615. Food portion was decent size for upscale restaurant. Atmosphere was nice, but not as upscale as they would have you believe. I was in a button up shirt and nice pants and felt overdressed compared to other patrons."

  • "We are in town for Mardi Gras and as you can imagine, eating, more eating and celebrating. We decided after a long day of parades that we wanted to find a quiet dinner with 'comfort food" near our friend's home. Cafe B is just down the street. We were greeted warmly and the service, led by our waitress Darlene, was perfect. The food was imaginative, wonderfully presented and very tasty. Just about everyone should find something to like on the menu, although it might be slim on vegetarian options. In a town full of great restaurants, we will definitely return to Cafe B."

  • "Cafe B is exactly what's missing in Metairie. And it seems that they get everything right: cooking, preparation, portions, and pricing. There are other nice restaurants in Metairie, just not enough."

  • "My server (Wendy) was one of the outstanding things about the night."
