Special happy hour includes fifty cent oysters, half price drinks, wine, and beer - from 3pm till closing. You can't beat that. Its only for a limited time - don't know when its going to end - so get there and enjoy a couple dozen oysters. Nice, friendly, professional service. Nothing about the food really knocked my socks off, but it was good. An enjoyable evening.

We had reservations for 6:15 but did not get seated until almost 6:45. Other people came in behind us and were seated while we waited for our table. we had tickets to go to the phantom of the opera. We were only able to order appetizers since we no longer had time to eat. The waiter was very helpful and got our order placed and out to us promptly.

  • Sunday Brunch

We were looking for a place not far from the airport when we saw their billboard advertising oysters on the half shell. That's what made us go there. Alas, no shucker in the house on Sunday and mostly eggs and brunch stuff on the menu. Our wait lady was cheerful enough but they also didn't have the our first choice wine from the menu and one of the listed brunch plates. They did have mimosas, champagne and Bloody Mary's in bulk, the Sunday brunch cliche, and some shrimp, crab and oyster dishes with eggs or grits, plus soups ( gumbo, of course) and salads. The food was well prepared but served slowly and inattentively. Lots of TV sets to watch the Saints, with the staff and customers wearing their colors.

I nor my date have ever been to cafe'b. It came highly recommended by a good friend so I took his advice and booked an online reservation, which was super easy to do and easy to modify because we happened to run late do to babysitter and was able to change it right on my phone. As the title says, this was a first date. So I didn't know too much about her. When we started to review the menu she realized majority is all seafood. She then tells me "I guess I should have mentioned I'm not a very big seafood eater at all." Well, she settled on the daily fish, Grilled Sheep Head topped with crabmeat and I had the duck. We decided to split each others meal and I was excited to see she enjoyed everything! Great experience! (FyI, both in our 30's)

Always enjoy eating here. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing...feel like I could just hang out and enjoy my brunch mimosas without feeling rushed. The food has been consistently very good and the service has mostly been spot on. Don't let the fact that it's a neighborhood restaurant keep you from celebrating any special occasion here, it's up to the task and you won't be disappointed!

The service, the food, the atmosphere was great, we were celebrating my daughters birthday. I had the lobster ravioli, exceptional flavor, great dish, one daughter had the oyster linguine, she said it was awesome. My date had the filet mignon, cooked to perfection, the last daughter had the black drum topped with crabmeat, that dish was a hit with my foodie daughter. We visit all the Brennan family restaurants.

Having been a long time fan of Cafe B, I have been very disappointed the last couple of lunches I have had there. The food remains consistent, but the service has not. The waitress was nice but appeared to be stretched to far. It took 15 to 20 minutes to place an order. The drinks come and the bread takes another 10 minutes or more. The food has taken up to 45 minutes to come. These were meals that were suppose to hour lunches. These were meals with reservations. These were not meals with alcohol or appetizers. The food continues to be delish, but no longer worth the frustrating wait.

I am delighted I found this restaurant. I sampled the foods recommended by Clarisse (my waitress), and they were wonderful in taste as well as presentation (the grilled Romain Salad and crab soup were superb). I'm so glad I found this restaurant, and I'm likely to return during my New Orleans visit.

Had a client in from out of state. They put is a table far away from everyone else so we could talk candidly. Server was attentive but never interrupted. We were there for 3 hours and there was never a rush to get rid of us. Food was terrific and made a big impression on my guest. Count on me again and soon.

Cafe B is another of the great Brennan restaurants. Every one that I have had the privilege to dine in has been a wonderful experience for me. My wife and our friend both had the filet and they were excellent. My wife likes hers medium well (I prefer it more to the medium rare side) and since she rarely is able to finish her meal, I generally end up eating some of hers. Even though it was more done than I liked (due to her choice), it was still quite tasty and not overly chewy. My fish with crabmeat was very good. I would definitely return to this establishment (My wife & I had actually dined there a few times before but this was our friend's first time & she loved it).

We went to brunch and to say our food was medium was an exaggeration. I had the Crab Dip which is one of their specialties. There was so much cheese you could not taste the crab at all. They might as well have left the crab out and called it cheese dip. My husband had a burger, which although overcooked, was good. It was was just too pricey. the best thing I had was the turkey on the turkey club. It was real turkey, not deli meat. But the sandwich was so thick and the bread so crunchy ( it was hurting the roof of my mouth) I ended up taking it apart and eating it in pieces. We won't go back there for a while. the things on other tables which looked the best was the fried eggs and grits, but I can make that at home.

Café B did not disappoint. Entrees were delicious, fish fresh and perfectly prepared as were salads. Noise level was a bit high for my liking which made conversation somewhat difficult. Service was friendly and responsive. Valet parking was convenient. Good to know of another quality restaurant choice in Metairie.

I took a friend to Cafe B for brunch to thank her for driving from Wisconsin to Louisiana with me. Neither of us had been to the restaurant before. The restaurant was very crowded on a Sunday and many people there seemed to be regulars. I took that as a very good sign. She had the BBQ shrimp and grits and I had the Boudin Benedict. Both were very good as were the Bloody Marys. I will definitely eat there again.

I thought the food was very lacking and was nauseous during the night. Fishy tasting lobster ravioli and skimpy crab claw appetizer. Husbands food was tasteless as well. Very busy so service was very slow and cocktails poorly made. Did not enjoy and as this is second visit with same opinion will not go back.

Have been trying to get together with three of my sisters for two months, finally we could all agree on a date. For logistical reasons, I chose Cafe B as our meeting place because the food is good and you can actually have a conversation in the place. Our waiter, Alex, was so personable and very attentive, without being intrusive. For an appetizer, we shared the eggplant sticks...I would have preferted it with a marinara sauce, but the sauce was tasty. All of our entrees and gumbos were delicious.
