  • Another Great Brennan Restaurant

Cafe B is another of the great Brennan restaurants. Every one that I have had the privilege to dine in has been a wonderful experience for me. My wife and our friend both had the filet and they were excellent. My wife likes hers medium well (I prefer it more to the medium rare side) and since she rarely is able to finish her meal, I generally end up eating some of hers. Even though it was more done than I liked (due to her choice), it was still quite tasty and not overly chewy. My fish with crabmeat was very good. I would definitely return to this establishment (My wife & I had actually dined there a few times before but this was our friend's first time & she loved it).

We went to brunch and to say our food was medium was an exaggeration. I had the Crab Dip which is one of their specialties. There was so much cheese you could not taste the crab at all. They might as well have left the crab out and called it cheese dip. My husband had a burger, which although overcooked, was good. It was was just too pricey. the best thing I had was the turkey on the turkey club. It was real turkey, not deli meat. But the sandwich was so thick and the bread so crunchy ( it was hurting the roof of my mouth) I ended up taking it apart and eating it in pieces. We won't go back there for a while. the things on other tables which looked the best was the fried eggs and grits, but I can make that at home.

Café B did not disappoint. Entrees were delicious, fish fresh and perfectly prepared as were salads. Noise level was a bit high for my liking which made conversation somewhat difficult. Service was friendly and responsive. Valet parking was convenient. Good to know of another quality restaurant choice in Metairie.

I took a friend to Cafe B for brunch to thank her for driving from Wisconsin to Louisiana with me. Neither of us had been to the restaurant before. The restaurant was very crowded on a Sunday and many people there seemed to be regulars. I took that as a very good sign. She had the BBQ shrimp and grits and I had the Boudin Benedict. Both were very good as were the Bloody Marys. I will definitely eat there again.

I thought the food was very lacking and was nauseous during the night. Fishy tasting lobster ravioli and skimpy crab claw appetizer. Husbands food was tasteless as well. Very busy so service was very slow and cocktails poorly made. Did not enjoy and as this is second visit with same opinion will not go back.

Have been trying to get together with three of my sisters for two months, finally we could all agree on a date. For logistical reasons, I chose Cafe B as our meeting place because the food is good and you can actually have a conversation in the place. Our waiter, Alex, was so personable and very attentive, without being intrusive. For an appetizer, we shared the eggplant sticks...I would have preferted it with a marinara sauce, but the sauce was tasty. All of our entrees and gumbos were delicious.

I am born and bred New Orleans and really don't care for the Brennan's restaurants all that much. When my mother wanted to go there for lunch I was skeptical. But I have to say the food was quite good, the aesthetics were very nice, and the price was beyond fair. Well done.

As with all Brennan's establishments, Cafe B is great spot with good food, and great service. A little pricey (filet is $35) but quality is good. Would have liked an option of a petit filet since the portion was way too large for one person!

It was a nice place, good and clean. There was a special menu for Mothers day and this caused a problem. It had limited items to select therefore we didn't see very much we liked. This made our visit very uncomfortable but since it was a holiday and finding another place to dine was out of the question unless we wanted to wait along time. I did like that we where sit immediately upon arrival. The waiter, Mac was very nice also.

Thank you so much to Steve, who I believe helped me set my reservation on Open Table for their Mother's Day Prix Fixe menu. We had an absolutely wonderful time, and our waiter (I think his name was Leonard) was excellent with the timing of our meals, even with a full house for Mother's Day. The bloody Mary's were excellent, as was our food. We will absolutely be back! Thank you for an a wonderful first impression.

Wonderful! In spite of it being Mother's Day! They didn't try to overcrowd the tables to make more money. Seating was ideally roomy. Service was perfect - She practically read our minds! We told them we were sharing entrees and they did it for us in the kitchen-a service & beautiful plate presentations! Donut holes-a must! Bisque-delicious and not too spicy! The grits and grillades - fantastic although we needed more "gravy" to cover the ample grits given. Delicious Filet - perfectly cooked and tender! Good potatoes. Didn't care for the "greens". Ice Box Pie - yummy! Strawberry sorbet hit the spot. Service was quick but not rushed! We could take our time and be done as soon as we wanted! Ready to go back again!
