Named for the gold swizzle stick that Adelaide wore around her neck, this fun watering hole is getting a lot of attention reviving classic cocktails. Bar Chef Lu Brow leads a team dedicated to the art of presenting perfect cocktails. The culinary team is led by Executive Chef Carl Schaubhut.

  • "My cousin and I shared two appetizers - bacon crusted oysters and the shrimp and tasso corndogs. The oysters were a bit bland and i didnt taste the bacon; it must've been ommitted when they made our batch. The shrimp corndogs were AMAZING!!! I absolutely loved them. My cousin ordered the white chocolate belgian waffle with a side of bacon - the bacon was crisp, the waffles were perfect. The entire dish was perfect. I ordered the shrimp and grits. There was a lot of garnish on the dish and it was a bit distracting but the overall presentation was good. The dish itself was good, I've had better at The Country Club but it's still one of the best in the city. The three free cocktails were pretty awesome also! Definitely recommend!"

  • "Six of us ladaies got together to celebrate a birthday. We went on Sunday, wearing our hats and received our complimentary drinks. We each ordered different items from gumbo to breakfast foods. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the fun atmosphere. Service was great, as always. This is my 5th visit to Cafe Adelaide and it won't be my last. P.S. The fresh French Bread is to die for!"

I HAD A FITDISH LUNCH WHICH WAS FANTASTIC, INCLUDING SALMON ON A BED OF PICKLED MILITON SLAW AND MINT PEA PUREE AND SHRIMP REMOULADE ROASTED BEET GAZPACHO.   • "The staff had balloons on the table for my friend's birthday and a special desert for her. The appetizers were yummy - the shrimp and tasso corndogs and flatbread. The turtle soup is a favorite. I had the shirmp and grits and they have changed the sauce on the dish. it is now a sweet cane syrup. I liekd the previous version better. We split the white chocolate biscuit pudding - it was supposed to have a root beer syrup, but we coudl not fidn it. Overall, the service is superb. The food is very good, but there are better places in town. The bar is great!"

The melon mojito salad was baconly delicious, and the fried catfish was perfectly cooked. The lunch package was a great deal, and the 25 cent appletini was nothing to write home about, but worth more than a quarter!"

  • "Unbelievably disappointed. The salad was bland with an unknown aftertaste. The replacement salad was chilled as if on ice under the fish and tasted more of raw fish than crisp lettuce. The turtle soup was moderate and meaty. The beef was an excellent cut and texture, properly cooked but ruined taste with sauce and spices. Disappointed this restaurant could some how be associated with Commanders Palace. Very pleasant upscale setting, not intimidating, and upbeat. Wait staff was helpful and offered to adjust the bill, however, no maitre'd or manager inquiry."

  • "Menu choices were very limited. Food was okay but expected more from a Brennan's related restaurant. There were 5 in our party. The real problems occurred when we ordered desserts. One of us ordered a variation of Bananas Foster dessert.. FIRST PROBLEM was: NO bananas in it! SECOND PROBLEM: the bread pudding at the bottom was more like hard croutons. These could not be cut nor bitten into. When those problems were brought to the waiters attention, his solution was to bring her a plate of banana slices! The same dessert was ordered by another in our party. It was fine. So, we knew what it was supposed to be like. We were the only guests there for about an hour. I think I know why. Will not be going back there again!"

We have tried many local restaurants, such as Cafe August and the Pelican Club, and have always enjoyed our dinning experience. But our dinner at Cafe Adalaide was outstanding. All of the courses, even the speciality cocktails, were absolutely amazing. The food didn't come out too quick but we were never waiting for our next course as well. All of the food was cooked to perfection and ever bite was remarkable. This was by far and away the best overall dinning experience that we have ever had. I would, and will be, highly recommending this establishment to anyone looking for a place to go out and dine in New Orleans."

  • "We came as a Bachelorette party group for the Weekend Hat Brunch and had a blast! The service was great, our free drinks for wearing our hats were strong and delicious, and the food was divine! I recommend the Shrimp and Tasso Corndogs and the Turtle soup for an appetizer, and if you aren't full after that, go for the Boucherie - it was full of flavor and still magically tasted like breakfast. I would recommend their brunch to anyone. It's a great deal, plus you still get the fine dining experience that you would find at their sister restaurant, Commander's Palace. I'll be back! "

We have dined at Commander's several times, but when we could not get a reservation recently, we were offered one at Cafe Adelaide. Wow. I didn't know it even existed, but we were thrilled to find it. The food was every bit as delicious, maybe even more! And the Martini lunch makes it a perfect spot for about any occasion when you want to feel like an adult again!"

I was brought the wrong food - told 3 people - saw 1 telling our waiter who totally ignored us beyond our initial order. Ended up eating half of the wrong because I couldn't get Vincent's attention and we had a flight to catch. Free drinks with hats so slow they clearly didn't want you to have more than one."

The problem we had was with the service. Very slow and the restaurant wasn't even full. There are to many good restaurants in NOLA to waste your time at this one. "

  • "I've had lunch at Café Adelaide several times and have always been pleased. So, we decided to try it for Mother's Day brunch. I understand that restaurants often have "issues" on special occasion days, and I would not attribute this experience to that. The restaurant was not even at half capacity. The waiter was slow to arrive and asked immediately if we were ready to order our meal instead of asking if we'd like something to drink. We had one pretty good appetizer, and the rest of the meal was marginal at best. I had a brandy milk punch, and it tasted as though it had been made with skim milk -- the worst I've ever had. Likely it was made in advance and had been sitting out with ice melting in it. The experience was just not good."

The filet was absolutely fantastic. One of us loved the biscuit bread pudding dessert while the other wasn't impressed. Overall we greatly enjoyed our meal and will be back! Excellent service also."
