A word from Café Adelaide at Loews New Orleans Hotel
Acclaimed by local and regional food writers as one of the best New Orleans Restaurants, Cafe Adelaide is a favorite of local residents as well as visitors. Modern Creole Cuisine featuring seafood and farm fresh ingredients is the cornerstone to "eating, drinking, and carrying on" at this Commander's Palace Family Restaurant. The culinary team is led by Executive Chef Chris Lusk, named one of five "Breakout Chefs to Watch" in 2009 by Esquire Magazine, King of Louisiana Seafood by the Louisiana Seafood Promotions Board, and "Louisiana Cooking" magazines Five Chefs to Watch! The Swizzle Stick Bar is a nod to the Brennans' beloved aunt, Adelaide Brennan, whose joie de vivre and charming pursuit of the good life is captured in the decor and design. Named for the gold swizzle stick that Adelaide wore around her neck, this fun watering hole is getting a lot of attention reviving classic cocktails. Bar Chef Lu Brow leads a team dedicated to the art of presenting perfect cocktails.Continued

  • "We were in town for French quarter fest and pick this restaurant because it was near the festival. Big mistake it was super crowded even ran out of glasses and had to wait 20 minutes to just get our drink. I would definitely give another chance and we can let wasn't super pAcked."

  • "New Orleans gem for interesting and well prepared fare, if you don't mind walking into a hotel lobby to find it just off the French Quarter. Noticed there was a side door later! We're glad we went, all kinds of good food in NOLA and after a week's visit, this was on the top of our list."

  • "The only thing we knew about Café Adelaide before we made our reservation was that it was owned by the Brennan Family. It was also close to our hotel. We were pleased to get a reservation at a time when New Orleans was mobbed with conventioneers, WrestleMania fans, and tourists in general. The turtle soup was every bit as good as at the Commander's Palace. Our entres were delicious and beautifully presented. And, the White Chocolate Biscuit Pudding was divine. We were impressed with service that was attentive to our comfort and enjoyment without being intrusive. We were so pleased that we made a dinner reservation for the next night and enjoyed the same fine dining experience. This is a gem of a restaurant!"

  • "Brunch was awesome. Brought our daughter and son-in-law from out of town. My daughter, who is allergic to all seafood was able to enjoy the turtle soup brunch special. We had a very relaxing and wonderful morning together."

  • "Locals dining out, the turtle soup was the best we have ever had and the shrimp and duck were fab!"

  • "The last couple of times we've walked from our CBD home to Adelaide, we've left disappointed. In both cases, lackluster service is primarily to blame but tonight, the food was just a little above average. No bread service and a penchant for ignoring my request for tea sweetener may not be offenses in lesser restaurants but this is Commanders' first cousin and should be run as such, especially since they are comparably priced. I was especially let down by the chocolate peanut butter cake dessert - relatively tasteless, on a par with commercial bakery output for a grocery store mass market. I REALLY want to love Adelaide. Come on Ti and family, don't ignore this sibling while concentrating on the flagship uptown."
